Are these shoes to loud ? I can't decide. The other day when I was wearing them out shopping, it was only the second time outside since I bought them 4 years again. No reactions to speak of, but I'm not sure. The thing is that their very comfortable.

I think those shoes look great and fun to wear. I don't think they're too loud, but they could easily become part of an outfit that's too loud. However, you've chosen to make a feature of the shoes with a casual look and I think that works. As for the jeans, I love bootcut jeans but in my opinion the straight-leg you've worn (or even skinny jeans) suits those shoes better. The neutral plain grey tshirt you're wearing helps to make the shoes the highlight without being too loud because it's not competing with the shoes. You could also try a tshirt matching the darker colour on the shoes, which would make a slightly stronger connection with the shoes without drastically changing the overall style that you're comfortable with.

If you like it, wear it.

Im really digging the hat! Thats something I have wanted to try and find for a while. A nice hat to add to the ensemble.

Theres nothing ' flashy ' about what your wearing, but it all fits together really well!

Howdy NewfieGutInHeels, The first time I blew through this thread today I didn't even catch your makeup. Just now as I paused to check out your hat I noticed the makeup and then read your post and saw what you wrote about it. I would call that subtle makeup. A quality that I really appreciate with the women that I know who wear makeup. I say way to go, man. You rock it well. Best, Larry

Life is short...  Wear the bleeping shoes!

Thanks all again for the kind words. I've decided to amp it up a bit in the next coming whlie. I've really taken a liking to make up lately so now I'll be working more androgynous looks. Dunno how good they'll be but I guess we'll see haha.

Newfie I love the hat and make up look. It's something I do quite often myself. Probably an influence from my youth which was in the early 80's when most men wore make up and gender bending clothing. Well done keep up the good work, more and more of us about nowadays won't be long before the more cautious join us.

High heels are the shoes I choose to put on, respect my choice as I repect yours.

Not where I was growing up !

Regarding Newfie's look, it's certainly not what I imagined when I saw just the shoes, but it totally works and looks very natural. Well done sir !

Thanks everyone for all the amazing compliments. I'm really hitting my stride (HA!) with my high heel fashion. It's finally starting to feel more natural and easy, for a long while it just felt forced. Lately I find myself wearing things I never thought I would. Heels with slim/skinnies so they're in full view, and lately pumps! Always been a boot guy and never thought I could do pumps but now I put them on and I'm like "Look out! " I do have to say 95% of my confidence comes from my amazing wife. I really don't know where I'd be without her, and I never care to find out. I'm also glad to know all of you are out there, it was this site that taught me to just be myself, and then (as I discovered) all the good I have in my life now came after. A lot of you gave me my push through your stories and pics, I can only hope that one of mine will do the same for someone else. One day if/when freestyle fashion is recognized as mainstream, we can all know we were there at the beginning. Thank you all again!

Pardon my honesty, but the skirt stands out too much, especially with the shoes.

Hemline really needs to go down, and the fabric is a bit too flashy for the rest of the outfit.

IMHO

I admire your guts.

The skirt is fine IMO, but instead of a T-shirt, a nice top would make things look a lot better.

Good look for you Shoe Dre.
