for me the higher the heel the better, and i like my heels minimum of 3.5 inches, this question is purely from a visual point of view and not about comfort or practicality, so what are your min/max heel visual preferences?

Min about 3.5 Max about 5 This would be for a normal woman's foot about size 38-40 I don't like any bigger than 5". I think they look crap actually. The heel starts getting very close to the foot, and the heel top shoots up past the back of the foot. Instead of standing on it, the woman is standing next to it, and the proportions are ruined.

Whatever heel height produces a vertical instep without a platform. So it really depends on the foot.

Shafted, the boots that is! View my gallery here http://www.hhplace.o...afteds-gallery/ or view my heeling thread here http://www.hhplace.org/topic/3850-new-pair-of-boots-starts-me-serious-street-heeling/ - Pm me if you want fashion advice or just need someone to talk to.

my min to look at is a little over 3.5 inch (depending on the size of the foot) my max is whatever she can stand without bending her knees. that variess from woman to woman. usually around 5 inch is the upper limits i see. but I've seen a few 6 inchers done so well, you couldn't see physical limitations to her. on my lady, i think 4.5 to 5 inch is ideal for me. I have to see what 5.5. is like, but 6 would be only for picture purposes. RPM

i like min of 4 inches and a max of 6inches, in my size in smaller sizes it would be different, as long as the proportions are right it looks good. later nhoj62

I ditto that, couldn't have said it better myself!

I would tend to agree with the consensus - a balanced, proportional look is best. Too low, and the heel would look better with a chunk instead of a spike. Too spiky, and it looks slutty. Too high, and Firefox's analysis of a woman standing in front of the heel instead of on it holds.
