Glad you like em' guys. Before I slit a pair of jeans, I thought I'd try to see if I can find some with zippered legs this coming weekend if I can find the time.

HA! Now you are obliged to wear your boots over jeans or with a skirt. Otherwise nobody could see the nice "tribal tattoo" embroidery

Hate to disappoint you micha, but over jeans is no good as the boots are too close fitting to tuck in and not bunch up at the knees. A skirt, let's just say it'll be a cold day in hell. Besides, I kind of like the slitted or zippered jeans idea, it will test people to see if they're paying attention or not. I hoping the result will be that if people really want a better look at them they'll ask or otherwise comment

If you can't find a suitable pair of jeans with leg zippers, you can always buy a pair and have zippers put into them. I'm sure you can find a store that can alter them without to much trouble.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Either that or a good tailor, maybe your local dry cleaners if they do alterations. I'm sure you'll be able to figure it all out, Shafted!

Nothing like a little fake black patent to liven up the boot collection.

Shafted:-) That's a great pair of mid-calf boots there. With a 3" heel, they should make for a great pair to street-heel in. Being black patent, I would be interested in any comments you pick up on them on the street. Cheers--- Dawn HH

I'm guessing that the advertized 3 inch heel is probably more like 3.5 inches. This seems to be the norm for mainstream shoe shops to make the footwear more sellable to women. I can't wait to spring these new boots on my usual haunts. Black patent has a way of demanding attention. BTW: The embroidered boots I bought are a real bear to walk in, not because of the heel. It's because the shaft around the ankle is so stiff. They are going to require a lot of breaking in around the house before they'll be ready to wear in public.

don't believe you will have any problems wearing the new pair in public. In fact, you should get nothing by favorable comments.

Did lighting last night for a Aztec Two-Step concert to raise money for the Pittsfield Public Library at the Pittsfield Community Theatre.

www.pittsfieldtheatre.co.nr

http://www.pittsfield.org/librarie.htm

I was wearing my 3.5 inch Two Lips stiletto boots to the event. I met Rex and Neil that afternoon to throw together a lighting script. Neither of them noticed what I had on my feet. It wasn't until maybe an hour before showtime before the doors opened that we were all BSing in the lobby, when Rex noticed the picture of me in my 5 inch stiletto thighboots (the ones in my avatar) that was taken of me on Halloween. With a big grin on his face he said "Nothing like shakin' up the town of Pittsfield a bit, Huh?" I responded "Yea there a little bit higher than what I usually wear." Then the library director chimed in "He's wearing heels now."

Anyway it was a great show, and I had the best seat in the house in the lighting box.

If anybody cares to hear how sparse high heels are here, with a near capacity crowd, I didn't see anything better or higher than a pair of 3 inch wedge sandals. That was at least an inch higher than the runner up.

Anyway at the end of the evening Rex and Neil thanked me for the excellent lighting and invited me back to the dressing room for pizza.

What a great night!

Sounds like you had a fun time at that outing, Shafted, and that people you know seem to get a kick out of your wearing heels. Doubly cool! More power to you!

And no one said another word about your heels the rest of the evening?

Well most of the evening I was tucked away in the lighting tech box. After the show though I had to do the marquis. There was a guy sitting in a convertable in front of the theatre (a lot of people were out in front of the theatre at this point). I proceeded to do the marquis as this guy watched me. I suspect he was expecting me to screw up this miraculous feat he was witnessing in heels. I proceeded to expertly and efficiently letter the marquis. As I finished and came down the ladder he commented "Nice job.", to which I thanked him. It had to be the heels because I couldn't imagine anyone saying anything about my lettering skills otherwise.

Well just got back from jury selection today, and I went in my 3.5 inch stilletto Two Lips boots (I just love that pair as they are very comfy and I can easily spend all day in them). And guess what, I wasn't charged for contempt of court. In fact for the five trials the selection was for, I wound up being on three of them. I sat next to a rather attractive older woman during the selection process who was wearing a rather nice pair of white linen peep-toe mules with maybe a 2 or 2.5 inch slightly chunky spike heel. Caught her several times checking out my boots, but hey she probably caught me checking out her shoes too. Just goes to show you that even our legal system has no problem accepting a guy in heels.

Well, that's pretty well remarkable. But then, I suppose the people running the show were more interested in whether or not you can be an impartial juror rather than what you have on your feet. Still you're adventure in the legal system was very cool indeed!

Yes, that marblizing you see in the photo is real. When I slipped them on for the first time, I was in for a surprise. This is a pump disguised as a boot. If you were to strip off the outer material there is a pump underneath. Way cool. And as I predicted the advertized 3 inch heel was actually 3.5 inches. I think I have another winner for street heeling.

Yes, I intend to wear these to at least one session of jury duty, and if I can find zip leg jeans this weekend I might decide to wear those embroidered boots as well as the courtroom is air conditioned. I'll probably take my Two Lips boots to the cobbler this weekend to have the heel taps replaced and see if he can do anything about the toe wear. I'll take some photo's of me modeling the Somethin' else boots this weekend, and I'll do the same for the Highest Heel boots if I get the zip leg jean. I've reached that point with the new boots where I now have more womens footwear then mens. Oh well, at least it keeps my mens footwear in much better shape for my day job. I'll be sure to keep you all updated on my adventures in the courtroom.

Shafted I too bought those boots from Famous Brand Shoes last winter. I bought a pair of the same boots, plum color in size 10. The gal at the check-out was pretty cool. She said she had a pair in rasberry color, just like she was talking to one of her friends. She gave me a frequent buyer card, so you get a free pair after buying so many. The boots are comfortable, look great, feel great, but I have not worn them out yet due the redneck area I live in. Sometime when I travel, I will try them out in public.

Hi blackslide, Does the plum pair also have that "way cool" marblized finish? That gal at the checkout counter sounded pretty cool. I'll probably give the black ones a trial run tommorrow night at the movie theatre.
