Heelfan Posted July 3, 2004 Share Posted July 3, 2004 Hello folks! Yes, from my perspective, another most enjoyable Heel-Meet! To add my tuppence-worth to the foregoing reports: Eight of the expected ten members turned up. A very creditable turn-out considering that it was held mid-week on a working day. What were we wearing? Well, when meeting-up near Tottenham Court Road tube station, Xaphod treated us to a repeat of his Fuss 5" very-thin-blade heeled courts, Firefox, FGWJon and Simon sported boots with heels ranging from 4" to 4 1/2", Nikki was wearing wedge-heeled boots. I wore my Ernest-of-Paris bootees with 5" stiletto heels and Dr. Shoe turned up in an excellent pair of sleek brown boots with pointed toes and 5" stiletto heels. Daz sheepishly appeared in flat trainers (Gasps!!!) as he had sadly sprained his ankle playing football. Unfortunate timing! Sadly neither Thighboots2 nor Bladerunner could attend due to sudden work pressures. Dr. Shoe introduced us to two fetish shoe shops (hitherto unknown to us) on the left just after we entered Oxford Street. I purchased a pair of black patent courts with low-cut toes and 4 1/2" very thin stiletto heels. The No 10 bus took us to Xaphod's favourite restaurant in Kensington. Firefox opted to go there separately by tube, but his train was delayed when a "jumper" threw themselves in front of it. Upsetting! An enjoyable lunch was topped-off by one of the waitresses engaging a couple of us in conversation and enthusing about our high stiletto heels. We then looked in at two or three nearby shoe shops where Dr shoe purchased some long boots. We then travelled by tube to Baker Street, Dr. Shoe having changed into another pair of pointed-toed boots with 5" stiletto heels in a eye-catching cream colour. Chiltern Street now boasts three specialist shops for the "bigfoots", all stocking ladies shoes in large sizes up to about 12 or 13 UK. On our previous visit, Dr. Shoe and Ionic had both bought Magnus's cowboy boot with a super 4" heel which tapers in to become very slim at the bottom. This time they had in the right size for me and FGWJon, so we both bought a pair - great! A nice young black lady customer took an interest in our purchases, but said that the 4" heels would be much too high for her to manage. When I passed her my Ernest ankle boot with its 5" stiletto, she was gobsmacked and said it was impossible! Whilst I bought a second pair (loafers), the gang moved on to ElephantFeet, but although most of the heels were a little high, thinner and more feminine than at Magnus, no-one bought anything. When moving-off towards the Baker Street tube, Xaphod and Calv did their usual trick of forging ahead at high speed, losing the rear half of the gang in the process. Dr. Shoe's cream stiletto boots caught the attention of a bunch of people sitting opposite the tube station, but then he had to leave us. Firefox and I wanted to catch the "rush of high-heeled secretaries" as they converge from the city financial institutions to Liverpool Street Station from 5pm to 6pm every weekday. Daz came with us looking very subdued and mournful that he could not wear his own heels. Unfortunately, thirst forced us to have a cool drink and miss the main part of the "Rush", but nevertheless Firefox and I got some good street-shots of commuting secretaries in high stilettos, which, no doubt, will appear on Jenny's Site's street-shot section in due course. During our meal, Daz had to depart for his Yorkshire train, and afterwards I retrieved a bag containing my 4 1/2" stiletto courts from the bar where I forgotten them. Funny looks from the bar manager! Firefox and I intended to round-off the evening by treating ourselves to "Raymond's Review Bar" at Walker's Court in Soho. We thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit last winter. Raymond had assembled a team of about eight simply gorgeous showgirls to indulge in some erotic but harmless stage-dancing, all in spectacular costumes and stunning mega high heels, complete with much catwalk flipping and using the wonderful shoes to full effect. However, disaster! Raymond's Review bar was all boarded-up and in darkness. There were no notices to say "Closed for improvements", so we assume that it has gone for good. Oh dear! So Firefox and myself found nearby a traditional English pub to have an end-of-evening beer before he returned to Hertfordshire and I returned to Bristol. One final note - as I sat sipping my pint, I gazed over Firefox's shoulder at a group of three seated girls, noticing that one of them stood out! She was wearing an ultra smart business suite, had dark red-brown hair in a ponytail and a really lovely face. It suddenly hit me that this could well be the legendary Lucy, the Londoner who writes her high-heel story on Jenny's Forum! I got more and more fascinated as I looked at this gorgeous creature, but then the stood up to visit the ladies' room and my theory was shattered to smithereens - she was wearing a frumpy pair of stodgy flat-heeled shoes! Anyway, a most enjoyable and relaxing day, and I look forward to organising our Bristol Heel-Meet very soon at which we hope to have some of our lady members in attendance too! In all, it was a good day out (even though I had to go early to sort out some work stuff), and all the guys were very friendly and welcoming - but unfortunatley I didn't get a chance to chat to them all properly during the day (sorry Calv, Firefox and Dr Shoe). Will have to remedy that at the next heel meet I can make it to. In all honesty most people didn't really notice a bunch of guys wearing heels on a busy Oxford Street - it shows that most people don't look at your shoes or really care! Daz also raised a good point - if you go out with a girlfriend/wife/partner/friend also wearing heels it shows that they have accepted you for who you are and that it is not a crime to wear heels as a guy, and may make more people a bit more open about it if they see you. Firefox Posted July 4, 2004 Share Posted July 4, 2004 Hi, not much to add except I met Daz at Kings X and after coffee at Starbucks, I went off seperately to get a new mobile at the virgin mega store and then drew the short straw of getting on a tube train that someone decided to jump in front of at Oxford Circus. Not only did they close the whole station immediately but also the central line too. After lunch at Kensington we went off to Magnus and some other large size shoe shops which I didn't go in, as I find most of the styles there extremely boring and also, it was the wrong time of year to see styles I like. After that Calvin got confused, thinking he was suddenly in the London marathon with the result that we got spilt up by the time we got to Baker street so HF, Daz, Dr Shoe and I went back to Liverpool Street. After some beers at the station bar, we got some good photos during the secretary rush. Dr Shoe had left us by this time but three of us went to a wine bar for a bottle and some tapas, coffee and brandies. Daz left for his train from kings X, but undaunted, HF and I continued to Raymond's Revue Bar in soho. RR bar had closed for refurbishment but we found another pub and had a couple more before it was time to leave for the train home. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The statement was a comparison to some of the others who are happy chatting ten to the dozen I wasnt so happy and chatty myself, seen as sods law creates a situation where i create a heelmeet as an extra excuse to openly wear my boldest heels, and then i injure my ankle and cant wear heels. never mind theres other times. Needsless to say Ive recovered mainly now, and did a bit of heeling in blackpool/southport where we went for the remainder of my weekend off. overall good meet, although as calv said, they often seem a little short and leave little time for us all to chat properly. In future we will have to arrive earlier and leave later To follow on from what nikki said, the heelmeet bunch are a great laugh and confidence inspiring. Only about 25% of passing people noticed a very noticable group of 8 men wearing boldly presented heels. From my own experiences Ive gone from shy as hell to being bold in only 3 meets! I encourage others to use the meets to a similar advantage and join us in the future. Daz - I wouldn't say that nearly as many as 25% of people noticed our group's high heels. I would put it at well under 5%. And even out of those, most looked as if they couldn't care less or simply accepted it as "anything goes these days". So come on guys and gals, let's see plenty of you at future Heel-Meets, and of course wearing your heels everywhere esle as well! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan Onwards and upwards!
