"Super Arch" shoes

Nova

Recommended Posts

I was looking closely at the "super arch" style high heels available at ArchEnemys, and comparing them with the "special arch" ones offered by 6 Inch Heels Forever ( http://www.orientvisual.com/6inchforever/index.htm ), and I'd swear they were the same shoes. With 6 Inch's two-pair deal and ArchEnemy's price being almost twice the cost of a single pair from 6 Inch, I can see how this might be the case. Can anyone verify this? With all the bad reports about ArchEnemys, this may be a viable solution.

If all the world's a stage, I want to operate the trap door.

First of all, I have not purchased any products from either of these two businesses so I can't offer you any personal recommendations.

However, because Archenemys has received such negative publicity, I did a little investigating over the internet.

I have seen extreme high heels shoes offered on eBay from a person or business using the WALLCRAWLER-COM username. The pictures that are used to illustrate what's being auctioned are copyrighted to www.ArchEnemys.com. In the auction item DESCRIPTION section, you will find a picture mentioning the contact email address of archenemys@archenemys.com as well as a mailing address. As far as I'm concerned, either WALLCRAWLER-COM is or works for ArchEnemys.

Now here is where my problem arises. I clicked on the READ FEEDBACK COMMENTS link for this seller. They have nearly 800 positive marks and less than 50 negative marks. That is a far cry from all the negative comments they have gotten here at this forum. Which is a more accurate representation of the seller's reputation? Your guess is as good as mine.

As for "6 inch heels forever", I could not find a mailing address mentioned at their web site. You should have an alternate means of contacting them if there are any problems with an order.

Jeff; Just about every business can be contacted over the internet via email. I always look for an alternative method such as regular postal address or a telephone number. That is the alternative method I was referring to in my last post. Sorry for not making my point clear initially.

wallcrawler/arch enemys problems stem from excessive delivery time on non-stocked items. If they are selling items via ebay the chances of them selling items that will take 4-6 months to custom make are very small. I know my boots are basically TLSB without any name on them, but took almost 6 months to finally show up. I know of others who have had that problem. You could probably do well with arch enemys if your item is in stock. If not?... how's your luck? the similarities between 6inch forever's and arch enemy's shoes is not surprising since they are just selling you shoes they ordered from 6in forever.. Jim

For what it's worth, I've ordered shoes direct from LSB and they have taken over 2 months to deliver (and I'm in the UK). The proprietor of "Bootlovers.com", DJ, regularly visits LSB when over here doing reports for his various publications and has often said that he buys whatever is available because of the long lead times from LSB and has been known to "queue jump" if he offers cash for something they have "in stock" but will actually be an order for someone. LSB is what we call in the UK a "cottage industry". They make excellent hand made shoes and boots but because they have such a captive market, they have no interest in delivery times. Similarly, if you order a car from Morgan Cars, you will wait nearly 3 YEARS for delivery! I suspect that Archenemys do not carry any stock and are merely acting as an agent for the manufacturers of the "Super Arch" shoes etc, who again will be making to order due to the very specialist nature of the shoes. Similarly, I've ordered shoes from a number of the larger US based suppliers and they can take from as little as 5 days to 3 months to be delivered to the doorstep, probably for the same reasons as stated above. Trust this helps but I would suggest 2 months is not an unreasonable time to wait for delivery of this type of footwear.

3 years for a car? Not bad. But that's not the top: At the end of the former GDR you had to wait roughly 13 (in words: thirteen) years for your new car. I can tell that because it's personal experience. Your parents already had to order you one before you ever knew at all what a car actually was so that you could start driving once you reached the age of 18...

Sorry for the off-topic post but I just had to.

I'm curious. How can you explain that Archenemy told me last year in september, that they had them in stock, ready to send. Now, 9 months later, I still have no shoes, and they "robbed" me on my $130. They just took the money. Is it because I order from Europe, and that makes it easier for them to rip me off. I think so. Anyway, a lot of us think that you should NOT favor this kind of companies. If you, contrary to expectation, get your shoes at this low price, then I have paid a bit of it Does this make sense?

Vanity, Which shoes did you order from them? 9 months sounds like they have forgotten all about you. What reasons have they given for non-delivery? $130 sounds like the wrong price for Super Arches. Hope you can sort things out with them Mike UK

Just for reference, I bought some super-arch heels from a 3rd party on eBay, who said they bought them from Archenemys (Even though I never would because of their reputation!!!!). But when they arrived, they had the 6 Inch Heels Forever logo stamped in them! Proof enough for me! I must admit that I'm tempted to get more from 6IHF...especially the V18's. Have you seen them? Their GORGEOUS!!!!

In looking at ebay feedback keep in mind:
  • Look at feedback from buyers if you're buying, sellers if your're selling. There are tabs at the top of the feedback list. About half their feedback is from sellers (stuff they bought); all but one of the negative comments are from buyers.
  • anything less than 98% positive or so usually indicates someone to stay away from; a lot of people don't leave any feedback for a bad experience for fear of receiving a negative in retaliation
  • Read the comments they have made on negative feedback they received -- I wouldn't want to have to deal with that
  • because of the type of merchandise they sell, many are afraid to raise a stink for fear of embarassment. Would you like to explain to your credit card company you didn't receive your size 14 shoes with 7 inch heels?

how is the quality? In some pics it seems that the heel bends a bit "under" the shoe when walking...

Surprisingly solid. It's not possible to push the heel to the sole with your hand and feel extremely strong (more so than expected). However, under more pressure there would obviously be some movement. This does occur a little when wearing them, but nothing that would give rise to concern. I hope that helps. They also have a great feel to them...Nothing like I can quite explain!

Surprisingly good; especially since having reservations, as they were advertised with a UK sizing. So they'd already done the US to UK...and Archenemys must have done the China standard size. Just "thinking on my feet" (see what I did there?) - As 6IHF only make-to-order, I suppose if your feet were slightly different sizes, that they would be able to manufacture them exactly as requested.

PJ, in my eyes Archenemy is simply criminal. I guess that it has never crossed your mind that those figures are false? However, if 800 or 800,00 are satisfied, I still belong to those 50 who has been cheatened, and someone should be in prison for that. I have som contacts in USA and I will work on this matter. There is no excuse.*ANGRY*

Vanity,

I can sympathize with you. I myself have been very tempted to order from ArchEnemy because they carry the styles I love. But because the negative comments from some customers have been so serious (no product and no refund), I decided that if I did purchase something, it would have to be in person from their in-stock items. Unfortunately, I don't plan on visiting the New England area in the near future. If I lived anywhere near them, I would love to visit them and check them out.

I wonder if ArchEnemy is aware just how vocal some of their dissatisfied customers are? One of the most important factors I have learned that helps a business become successful is customer satisfaction.

PJ, if you live in the Chicago area, why not visit "Skyscraper Heels?" They advertise shoes with heels up to 7" and sizes up to 15. Their address is 2202 W. Belmont, Chicago, IL 60618. Telephone" 773-477-8495. Website is located at: http://www.skyscraperheels.com/

While I've never been there in person, I know they have been in business for a long time and I'm sure the lady that runs the shop can advise you on how and where you can obtain the style of shoes you are seeking.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
