Is the "like" button related to Facebook

Question

On this forum you can "like" other's posts.

This article seems to say that somehow each time you click on a "like" button, Facebook is able to collect the web address you were browsing.

So I would like to know if when I click on the "Like" button at HHplace, it involves a Facebook issued code.

Thanks

I'm not on Facebook at all - never have been, never will be - and I can and do use the 'like' button. And I doubt very much that Tech would, or indeed would even be interested in, monitoring anyone's web surfing.

I very much doubt it. There is no where in the login and settings of HHP to add in FB settings and links.

The article is about your surfing on FB. And how it is monitored.

I am not into IT, but I am on the paranoid side...

I am sure if I had a website, and if I had put a FB ressembling button on my website, it would be only because the website editor software propose it in its options, which they surely developed under FB licencing. Then the code would be in without me knowing about (or caring).

Then I would wait for them to come and tap me some money (or data this is the same) for the sake of copyrights.
