Ballet & Corset training diary.

:(:(:o:D8):o:(:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o Jeff inquired if I'd keep a diary regarding my recent journey with Ballet training and my decission to attempt to re-shape my body through excercise & corsettry. My fascination with Ballets has been heightened by the Forum meking me to decide to take the plunge and commit to going as far as I can. I set limits: No driving-ever and no going out in public until/if I attain a level of proficiency and can wear them for more than 3 hours. Is wearing them a turn on? Only when I'm seated! Seriously-it does have an aura of eroticism attached although right now it's rising to the challenge that is primary. Here goes! My first day in my knee high ballets presented challenges. While fascinated, I tried to proceed logically. I knew a walker would be helpful and had one hanging on the wall in the basement. First I wore them just to stretch the muscles and acclamate myself to the position. This went on for about 3 days wearing them in the evenings for about 5-7 hours and as long as I could on the weekend. I tried to wear them to bed once and couldn't get to sleep, scratch that idea. in the second week I could stand with the walkers assistance for short periods. Being on the toes necessitates an entirely different approach to walking. You don't have the toes to hinge upon or to push off with. Interesting, this! I experienced some tenderness in my toes and went to a dance supply store and acquired some small, gell "pillows' to put in the toebox. This really helped. Week two I found I could take a few steps WITH the walker. I am working on extending the amount of steps I take as my proficiency allows. That's where I'm at with the ballets. THE CORSET . . . I have two corsets and plan upon rotating them daily so as to avoid chaffing and material wear problems. I'll probably purchase 3 more. The plan is to wear them daily for as long as is possible and this includes sleeping in the corset. I re-tighten the corset ten minutes after I first put it on and try to re-tighten it every 4-6 hours using the restroom when I'm working. On the weekends I have had Sam help because she can tighten the corset easier than I. So far It's working out to about 22-23 hours a day with bathing and exercise being my only time off. They are virtually undetectable under my daywear which is wonderful. In the evening I can still function singing and doing comedy with no real problems thus far. No discernable physical changes thus far but it hasn't been a week as yet I will share that wearing a corset with heel makes you walk VERY DIFFERENTLY! You tend to sashay because that's the only way you can walk! What else? I drink 10-8ounce glasses of water daily. I used to drink more but this proved a bit impractical with what I go through just to relieve myself with removal of the pantyhose, undies (thong if anybody's interested), skirt/dress etc. I eat much less but always have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'll keep you posted. Ciao! :D Anita

Thanks for sharing with us Anita, I'll be reading with interest especially your experiences with the ballets as I'm saving for a pair myself. I know a dance supply shop, and will be getting some toe cushions. Although I rarely wear it, I have a corset too, so I know what you mean about walking differently when wearing it with heels! Although reshaping my body was not an interest of mine, I wish you well with it. Please keep us posted with how you're getting on. Chris :D

Hi Anita I am glad you though it a good idea. It will be a benefit to others who are curious about seeing how “easy it is for you” as well an insight to what corseting in particular is about and the same to some extent about wearing ballet heels. You mentioned in your post about going full time corseting, that you intended to go down to a 24 inch waist. I get the impression from this post that you are already there because you lace your corset closed over a period of hours. If that is correct do you intend going to a smaller waist size with your next 3 corsets? Could you let us know what size you are now and what you lace to on a weekly basis so we can see your progress? With your corset being virtually undetectable under your day clothes are we to assume you have not had any comments from co-workers? I am sure that answers to questions like these would be of interest for our members, just like the answers to similar questions around high heels. Jeff

My current uncorseted measurements are: Bust: 36DD, Waist: 27.5", Hips: 35". My corsets are about 3" from being closed when laced . . . unless Sam "helps" - then it's about 2" :D . I've ordered 3 new corsets that will be 3" smaller than my current ones and I'm not letting Sam get her hands on 'em . . . for a while. I notice that when I first unlace them I have to go "#2" R-E-A-L bad & FAST! Under my current wardrobe the corsets DO make a difference in fit and I'm having a few things altered. Tonight I tried my Ballets for about 3 hours and can walk across the room without the walker. It's still a bit awkward but progress nonetheless. Ciao! Anita

I read that back in the 50s & 60s some models & Hollywood types actually had a rip removed surgically to give them the desired figure. Sounds like a bit much from my viewpoint.

Note if you will that this observation takes place from someone who has been in a corset for the last 3 days and has been wearing knee-high ballet boots and jet-black seamed (why not!) pantyhose since I got up . . .

Last night my ribs became a bit sore. I was warned about this happening. Normal. So I got up, took some potassium and B complex and moved around a bit & the soreness subsided.

I am also putting moisturizer on my boobs, arms, legs & shoulders because it has been so-o-o-o dry of late. Nice side effect is my skin is so soft.

I also got out an old pair of shoulder length gloves. I'm wearing them after I moisturize. This has helped the skin on my arms & hands during past dry spells. I went in to the kitchen to fix breakfast and caught a glimpse of me on the mirror . . . GAD. 8) WHAT a VISUAL! Black Corset, Gloves, Ballets, hose & heels. Now all I need is a whip and some poor terriffied, submissive - on his knees - all tied up & with a red ballgag in his snivelling, whimperring little mouth as I dig the steel Stiletto heel tip from the ballets into his nipple revelling as he writhes in the exquiset pain of the moment . . . :o:D:D EASY AUNTIE ANITA! Save that for the XXX rated version.

Back on Planet Earth I had my breakfast then went out to the recliner to watch the tube for a bit.

I sometimes search for rationalle behind what I'm doing and have concluded that, as with all passions, there really is none and while being demanding :( it's still kinda fun at this point.

Is there an alterrior motive besides my figure goals to wearing a corset pretty much every waking hour? I like to think it's for getting a Barbie-doll figure but also wonder if there has become more to it than that. And what is the next goal going to be when my current goal of a 24" uncorseted waist is attained? 22"? 20"??18"?? And what about when I CAN walk around in the ballets without looking awkward/clumsey? Will the weight of my boobs make it difficult to stand upright as I get older??? :(

I sometimes think too much.

OY! Time for a foot break!

Funny - after wearing Ballets going to my daily wear 5.5" heels seems almost like wearing flats. Go figure!

Ciao,

Anita

There were persistent rumours that Cher had a rib removed though she strongly denies it and says it's impossible to do.

And Kathy Jung from Boston is supposed to have a had ribs removed though she has never admitted to it and her husband I believe is a surgeon. Kathy is in the Guiness Book of Records as having the smallest waist of 14 inches, she started lacing when she was 49. Not bad eh? Jeff

I just returned from an evening of entertaining. Y'know-there ARE some rather odd people out there. After my set, this guy comes over and tells me he enjoyed my singing (ok . . .). He asks if he can join me (Danger.). He goes on to tell me how he loves the fact that I wear such high heels and my long fingernails (uh-oh). I graciously tell him no, he may not join me. My friend, Samantha, and I need to discuss business 'Bye! He sends over a drink (ok) and spends the next hour orbiting. I get uo to go see some friends and he's on me like flies on sh** (DANGER!). I decide to get this overwith and tell him thanks for the drink but I am REALLY busy and I don't date people I meet in the bar (which is true). No effect. He tells me he WANTS me. :D He has been watching me all night and would like to just talk (sure). I reiterate I DO NOT date people I meet in bars and to please leave me alone. :( He's probably a freak or a byesexual. Y'know - a guy who has sex with you then it's 'BYE! I turn to meet with my friends and walk away. He starts to follow me. Sam sees what's going on and sends over Rick the bartender/bouncer and the guy is escorted out and asked NOT to return. I have been wearing the corset pretty much nonstop and am used to walking with the sashay I have developed that comes with it and the heels. I have also noticed that I'm kinda bitchy of late. Is it my period? No. Gotta be the corset that I feel I must now wear constantly coupled with the ballets training that has become somewhat of a compulsion has med me irritable. I no sooner do I get in my front door than I am changing out of my eveningwear and into my ballets. I'm gonna attempt to sleep with them on tonight. I sit at my makeup table and moisturize and put on my gloves. I walk unaided to bed (34 steps) and it's lights out. . . Should I re-tighten the corset before I nod off? Yes. Uhn. . .UHN! :( :x NOW it's time for beddie-bye. G'night!  Anita

Not a rush-just an obligation to the regimen. The more you train the quicker you get the desired results. Addicted? No . . . If I want to quit I will. If at the end of three weeks I'll re-evaluate & go from there. Ciao! Anita

The more proficient I become wearing my ballets the more empowered I feel. I DID keep them on all night while I slept. After my morning shower break from the corset I put them back on and could walk a few steps without the walker! STILL not where I want to be but am getting better. It's evening here and I worked on my computer at home all day wearing my corset & ballets . . . time for a Ballets Break! I find if I put on my 6" stilettos after I've been in the Ballets it reduces the strange feeling of going flat-footed. I think I'll leave the sleeping in the ballets for weekends! Ciao! Anita

Anita Hello Would you mind expanding your diary to include things like "did you have a good sleep in ballets, or a fitfull sleep?" How long did you wear them for during the day, it seems from your shower to the evening about 10 hours or so. How does it feel in the morning after a night in your corset? Thanks Jeff

In answer to Jeff M.: I wore the ballets about ten hours a day on weekends and sleeping in them was difficult which is why I'm confining that activity to the weekend. The Corset ? I'm getting used to wearing it but as I said I was irritable last week. I now have a corsetted waist of 22". The corset I wear still has about 1.5" 'till the laces at the waist are completely closed. As I said I tighten it twice during the course of the day after I first put it on ( I remove it to shower and exercycle for about an hour in the am) to further constrict my waist. As a sidebar, I've lost 8 lbs. and, yes, some of it came from my bra, which is normal. I continue to press on! Ciao! Anita

Jeff, i will first see how succesful Anita is, then I will have it a go, I will have to wipe the dust of my ballets though... The strange thing is, i found sleeping in my ballets easier than sleeping in 6 inch heels... (but maybe that's because i usually sleep on my belly and on my sides)

Anita: I am getting a bit worried about Achilles tendong shortening - you still able to walk around barefoot without pain? Maybe doing some stretching exercises? Achilles tendeon shortening seems to be a rathe permament thing and could confine you to a wheelchair in your old age. Apart from that> More power to you and your training! Take it easy Bernhard

I decided to wear my Ballets to bed on the weekends so I got undisturbed sleep during the week. It is settilng down but with the ballets AND the corset it ain't easy! :(

I did get my 3 new corsets in - 22" waist and this is good because my current corsets are 24" when closed so-o-o-o they are now for sale!

When I first put the new ones on, I noticed a great deal of difference in fit. :( The new ones aren't as "comfy" (& I use that term loosely!). I am restricted much more than in my old ones and must walk with even more of a sashay. I over tightened the first day & experienced some dizziness-this passed. I have a houseguest who is now able to assist me lacing them on. This has been an enormous help as I can now tighten them appropriately to attain the best results. This also helps with the bootlacing.

I am now a 25.5" waste normal - a 23.5" waist "En Corset". :drinking:

An old friend came up & gave me a hug . . . his eyes got as big as saucers. :D "What in HELL are you wearing?" he asked. I smiled & winked-then whispered "My new corset!". We had quite a talk!

Ballet update!

I can now walk & stand for about 20 minutes WITHOUT having the walker! I can feel my muscles adapting and my toes are, well, tollerant. I can't do stairs . . . as yet.

While I really prefer the look of my 5.5" Stilettos functioning in these has been quite the accomplishment.

SIDEBAR: I can now wear & walk in my 6.25" Stilettos now which is an unexpected bonus! I took them to the bar on evening. I was in my cocktail-length beaded sequined dress with the right leg slit. I even wore them for a set (10 minutes) while entertaining on a bet! Shoulda seen the eyes fall out when I got on stage! :o:D8)

Wooo-Woooo!

Ciao!

Anita

Very nice to hear about your progress with the corset and the ballet boots. Sounds like you are progressing quite well in your abilities. Stairs should not be too big of an issue, you just need to take them carefully. Have a great time learning. Seeya Jim

THAT TIME of the month . . . :( Water retention . . . irritable . . . yup-it's "that time" of the month. I'm still doing my training - it's just challenging when you feel asif you've just injested a water balloon . . . I digress. :D No substantial change in measurements changes from the last update . . . AND my feet are swollen BUT I'm still corsetting 23/7 AND I'm still wearing the ballets 4-5 hours a day. I haven't lost any ground I haven't made the great strides I'm accustomed to. AKKKKKK! Get over it, Anita! The important part of this is to share it all - good AND bad. :D:o This was the bad! 8) I have my annual Dr. appt. next week . . . yippie. Hmmmm. Probably NOT going to corset THAT day! :( The break might do me good! Ciao, Anita

The Beat Goes On . . . I'm stuck . . . while I'm grateful with my 22' corsetted waist, I cannot get the damned thing any smaller! :D Even with "Dom" Samanthas' assistance. I should be pleased but I'm not. I want a 20" waist and am realizing that it might not be attainable. My weight is what it was in highschool and I am exercizing and watching my diet. On the upside, I can almost walk across the deck in my Ballets without having to grab onto the railing! I'm going to re-evaluate the corset training. I'm still 23/7. Ciao, Anita

Anita I know I am repeating myself but if you read what they say at www.staylace.com you will see they recommend at your waist size staying at that level for several weeks, maybe even months before going to a smaller size. You have to give your body time to adjust with your kidneys and liver having to reposition themselves higher in your torso. The increments too are smaller being in the order of 1/2 an inch and not inches at a time.

Jeff

Yes, from what I hear it can take up to 6 months to get any noticeable changest past your initial try. Another thing that needs time to adjust are your back muscles and their positioning, they play a key factor in the shape of your midsection considering they provide the side-side stability. I know thats where I feel it most when I wear a corset, especially if I have to move around alot. Don't give up, just let your body take it at it's own pace. Evolution is not an overnight process :D Sounds like you are doing great! keep up the good work. Jim
