And now for something different

While out for my afternoon mental health walk, I got behind a nice looking lady; dark hair in a white & pink dress that fitted her attributes nicely. Of course I checked out her shoes, and saw something I have never seen: a pair of slingback heels, mirror finish, the left shoe white the right one pink. otherwise they appeared to be the same shoe. Anyone ever seen this before? I'm guessing it was deliberate.

Looked online, a couple examples:

Same here desert boots, one normal, one a safety boot. Virtually same colour. Someone noticed about 2 hours after getting to work. Worst bit I didn't even notice the heavier steel toe and hadn't been for a drink the night before :wavey: Locally lots of kids mix socks and converse style canvas boots. At least same style and just a colour swap Al

My girlfriend (of 32 years) has a few times got dressed quickly and gone out with two differant black ankle boots on, same size heels. Finds out about out about half an hour later. Will admit nobody notices, only me.

life is not a rehearsal

To be mischievous a choice of three that could be muddled in the dark, I may notice cooler toes at some point earlier. :wavey: Al

At first I thought it might have something to do with her curvy chest; that she couldn't see her shoes. I have matching pairs of white and black strappy heels, and spent some time wearing one of each yesterday. This lady had the enviable ability to make walking in heels just sooo graceful. It made nice and interesting shoes just that much nicer to watch. I like the look, when its done on purpose.

Well Helena has got it 100% right Red on the left Green to the right for night flying (unless she crosses her legs that is :wavey:). However I can't find a picture of Bellatrix flying so maybe she's only just past her IMC/night rating? Al

I can't decide how I feel about this. I see a lot of girls in mismatched socks. I love the message it sends that life's too short for searching for a pair. And I've seen two girls sharing two pairs of shoes, which looked really sweet. But unless there's some other nod to the mismatch somewhere else in the outfit it seems difficult to avoid the look of early onset dementia. Maybe that's a personal paranoia.

I actually have worn two different pumps. Both the same model and size, but different pattern. One in leopard print and the other in zebra print. Called the combination predator and prey. lol

Clever! And nothing more than I'd expect from you. Yes, you've got to show that there was some thought in it.

Waisted Giraffe, odd DMs, so cool. A girl in DMs is already stating she's something to reckon with. And you couldn't put odd ones on by accident, unless it was very dark or your lucidity was nothing but a (blurry, I presume) memory.

Very good marketing.

Some sells the "men in high heels" concept, trying to double the sales of mens shoes .

No they found a far better concept : the mismatching trend potentially doubles your sales of womens shoes !

I saw something similar at York races a few years back, two twenty something women wearing almost identical dresses one bright blue the other fire engine red. They both had identical shoes, one a pair of blue stilettos with those ribbon ankle ties that goe half way up your calf and the other red and they were wearing one blue, one red. It was absolutely amazing, and quite obvious that they had chosen to wear them like that. They were definitely getting quite a few looks.... And I have to say that I think it worked quite well

Wow, I can say I like this concept. I would love to have seen it. I looked around on line, and found some shoe swapping videos where the ladies involved spend some time wearing one of each others shoes:

Two Italian girls, share pink & blue-

Two girls share brown and black; very scripted-

First quarter of the vid; two women accidentally swap a shoe at the movies, one gets up a leaves w/o realizing-

For a moment the blonde with the cute watch wears one of each:

Two girls momentarily wear a shoe of each others:

Two girls go one black, one silver for a moment:

And there's this photo-

I'm sure there's more out there.

Wish I could find the video I saw on Youtube. It consisted of one lady wearing what looked like mismatched shoes. Upon closer magnification, it turns out most of the patterns of both shoes were the same, as if showing that they were particularly made that way. Also, one looked to be a wedge-"ier" version of the other shoe. But I guess without a video, I'm talking empty words :mecry: I can see myself taking up this style as my shoe collection (and hell, my wardrobe as well) continues to grow, and I grow more impatient with having to find matching pairs in my disorganized closet
