cardinals15 Posted June 1, 2011 Share Posted June 1, 2011 Hi everyone!! I recently moved into a new apartment where I stored my heels on the top shelf. I came back from a weekend trip to find that the shelf was directly underneath the ceiling air conditioning unit - a leaky air conditioning unit. One of my shoes had been leaked into. I tried to get as much water out as I could, and then left the shoe upside down to dry, but 2 and 3 days later, there is still water in the sole. I have put on thin socks and walked around in an attempt to squeeze out the water, but there is always more water in the shoe. Finally, last night I stuffed the shoe to the best of my ability with socks and left it overnight to dry out, but there is still moisture in the sole! If anyone has any advice on how to dry out this shoe, I would really appreciate it! I had just bought this particular pair of heels and have never worn them. Shafted Posted June 3, 2011 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Actually newspaper is a much more effective dessicant than either tissue paper or paper towels. Newspaper even sucks moisture out of the air.
