I know there is a thread about a similar discussion but that one the whole scene is at home, where people will definatelly know you or can point at the person or family that lives in that house exclusively,..... maybe you as well as me are a closed door high heeler, and looking for a taste of the outside world in search for some emotions when wearing your heels, well....here is a drill i had being wondering for the last two months..... When i go on a biz trip i always pack my best and highest heels, and etc, and when i have some time for relaxation during a break or after a business meetings, i closed my self in my room and start to wear my boots and heels, ... one day it happened that the reception sent me compliments on the house by offering me a plate of fruits, peanuts, chocolates and a free drink, the person who came with the offer was a cute lady that looked to me very friendly and open minded (of course not a hooker) since we chat for some minutes at my room about the area and the place to go for sightseeing, I could easily use my thigh high boots meanwhile i was having that chat with her, and maybe she would be giving me an opinion out of couriosity, maybe she would like it, etc, i really felt like calling her again and open that door completely booted up. I didnt got the guts to do that, maybe i regret since it was going to be with no risk since in that country nobody knows me neither cares about a high heeler in the room, maybe next time for sure, only if it is a girl who will knock the door. wont like to give a wrong message to the concierge guy. so would you dare?

Good Morning, I travel weekly to hotels and I travel in heels 100% of the time. At the hotel, my time is 100% in heels. Not just my room but the lounge, the restaurants the lobby everywhere. I have never had a bad reception. And I get many questions mostly from ladies as to why and how high. Have a great Heeling Day. Henri

Why not? If you wear high heels in public and are comfortable with people seeing you wearing high heels, by all means open the door and be yourself and ignore the fact that you are wearing high heels.

I agree with Roniheels. Why Not? Just open the door, take care of business, close the door and continue enjoying your heels. If you wear them in public, why not at the hotel. Those people are just as much strangers as any that you would encounter on the street. I'll bet that TBG would open that door in his thighboots. Cheers--- Dawn HH

This has happened and I have, and do.....As some have said, why wouldn't you open the door while wearing heels if you regularly wear them in public anyway?

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Yes, however there seem to be some places better than other. Especially for those who are mostly closet or only at home hh-ers (like me), but are excited to venture out every now and again. For example, I did this in Las Vegas and one, no one is shocked, two, had a nice chat with the lady bringing stuff to the room. Next I hit the casino floor to walk around, shops at Caesars and part of the strip. For the most part no one cared or the occasional eye roll or chuckle didn't bother me. Very exciting! Regards, MHH

I sort of equate this hotel scenario to the trying on of heels at different shoe stores. You are there to shop and they are there to sell. The hotel room situation offers the individual comfort of room service delivered to your door exclusive of the retail store environment with this supreme difference...if you're in the US or Canada...a tip would normally follow the delivery of such room service. What hotel worker wants to risk insulting the customer that feeds him?? Good room service may include a nice comment about your shoes which may, in turn, increase the tip that hotel worker is about to get. I always take a pair of heels, usually wedges, with me on any trip for just these situations. HappyinHeels

Been there, done that. Walked down three floors for breakfast filled my plate and coffee went back to my room and enjoyed my meal all while wearing 6" heeled knee boots.

My last business trip was several years ago but I did make seven posts about the boot wearing events including going to dinner in a business suit (that thighboots, skirt and jacket). :)

Start of thread (with Pictures)

Anymore, whenever I am traveling, business time is spent in business atire, my time is spent in boots.

To this threads question, "Would you open the door?" ... depends on who is at the door. Hotel staff - yep, Business Associate - probably not.

I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Generaly speaking , Hotels with air conditioners out side the window are where I stay...no room service. I have gone to the icebox on the corner of the building in heels and opened the door for the maid or pizza delivery person while wearing heels.:)

I was on business trip the other day had just came into the hotel room when all the sudden knock on the hotel room door! I had just removed my heels a minute before, so there I was in jeans and nylon feet with heels sitting beside the chair about 3 feet fromt the door, I opened the door even though I had no idea who it was at the door. It was the hotel maid wanting to clean my room (again), so i open and then prop open the door and explain to her the room has already been cleaned and everything was OK. She stood there and looked at her paper work in which I took upon my self to look at as well with her, turns out she had wrong room number but she never commented on my hose clad feet or the heels which were in plain sight? I am sure it is everyday occurence for the maids so no suprise to her. I always leave my hose and shoes out when traveling, but never any comments that I am aware from the maid staff. Goes to show you no one really cares what you wear as everything has become uni-sex these days. So wear what you want and be happy, cause life is really to short to worry about what others think!

I don't know why I'd be wearing heels in a hotel by myself, unless I was getting ready to leave anyway or something. I probably wouldn't just be tooling about in them. To answer the question, I'd take the door in heels.
