Greetings friends.

I'm retired now, but still retain a passion for high heels & if you'll bear with me I'll tell you it came about.......

I was about 10, friends with Johnny D 3 doors away. Ours was a posh road & the Ds were social pariahs - he was a scrap metal merchant, with a flash car & even flashier wife. Mrs D was always dressed up to the nines; fur coat, pencil skirt, seamed nylons & incredibly high heels. The sight of Mrs D teetering to the shops fired a young lad's imagination & the memory is still with me. I loved visiting Johnny; not only were the whole family so friendly (unlike the snooty neighbours), but Mrs D's wardrobe was inexhaustible - new shoes nearly every day, all about 6" high.

My dear wife knows all this, & has valiantly worn 5 & even 6" heels over the years to indulge me - she now keeps a weather eye open for lovely sights & about 3 years ago we struck gold, in Budapest. She spotted a lady teetering elegantly along & on closer inspection she turned out to be the spitting image of Mrs D - fur coat, pencil skirt, seamed stockings & very high heels. We dined well that night..........

Now, the wonder of the internet has opened up new avenues of enjoyment, via websites such as those of the gorgeous Pantera & the lovely Gina. There's life in the old dog yet.

Best wishes.

Brian.

Welcome, brian26, and what a great story! I'm sure many of us can identify with that scenario; a memory like that never fades, does it? Can you be more specific about the period during which you saw Mrs D - I guess around 1960? And did you try on her heels, with or without your friend's knowledge?
