Decided to get a pair of the ASOS Chelsea boots as mentioned above: https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-heeled-chelsea-boots-in-black-leather-with-zip-detail-on-black-platform-sole/prd/20048891

Despite being sold as men's boots something was adrift on the sizing. I ordered UK9 (they are marked UK9 EU43) but couldn't even get them on my feet. Possibly because I have a fairly high instep. I could try a UK10 but they look uglier in real life than online so they're going back. Free delivery, free return so no problem.

While I was ordering, I decided to try some other chunky boots that were available in UK9. I quite like the look of these so it's  shame they are too tight: https://www.asos.com/simmi-shoes/simmi-london-jemma-chunky-ankle-boots-in-black/prd/14194498

These fit reasonably. I'll try them again in the morning. If I keep them then the price is right, though they aren't real leather: https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-wide-fit-ellen-chunky-lace-up-boots-in-black/prd/12152117

As a person with a high arch and large girth toe box I can see why the first one different work and am surprise the second pair didn't and the third pair did.

Nine West had a bootie with luge soles and a stiletto heel, gone when I went looking.

Tried them again this morning. The 2nd ones https://www.asos.com/simmi-shoes/simmi-london-jemma-chunky-ankle-boots-in-black/prd/14194498 are still too tight, quite narrow across the toe box. Really liked the look of them but being synthetic they won't stretch well

The 3rd ones https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-wide-fit-ellen-chunky-lace-up-boots-in-black/prd/12152117  really didn't fit. The right foot might have been OK with a little wearing in but the left was impossible. I think my left foot is slightly larger than the right. The boot may have been slightly smaller too. If theya re wide fit I hate to think what the standard fit is like.

So they are all going back.

When you have high arches and a larger toe box, this is just something you get use to.  All you can say is "onto the next". The third one I thought would never fit because the way the bottom of the tongue is sewed. Way too short for a high arched foot.

Recently got a pair of white Pleaser Flamingo 1020 boots. Bought and ordered on Tuesday, delivered on Thursday morning. 8 inch heel platform boots ain't that much of a challenge.

Most Pleasers the heel ratio works out to around 3-1/2" when you subtract for the platform. I am guessing those 8" heels have a 4" or better platform. I have a few pairs of Pleasers and they are good quality, but nothing special. I have a pair of 8" heels sandals with clear platforms for those "slutty" times.

Saw these too... I like the chunky look, but I prefer the more classic styles. I DIDNT REAIZE TILL 2ND GLANCE THAT THESE ARE SOLD AS MENS! Talk about progress!  Did you receive them yet?

Bought a pair of these boots recently and they should be with me this week. I hear that they still fit a UK7 if the shoe is a size smaller. Is that right?

Finally got the Zigi boots at last! They are a tad snug but they just fit my size UK7 feet.

However, the box was broke as feck when I got them thanks to MyHermes treating the shoebox like a nuclear bouncing bomb so that's in the bin.

Some nice shoes and boots there, but rather expensive.

They are not expensive for me. I wear such boots every day. They will last me for several years. It is quality leather and they are comfortable. Even though I have them all day, my legs don't stink.
