Why can't I get any work done?

Recommended Posts

Answer: Because I'm always looking at this forum  I think there's a few more of us out there spending lots of time in here. Thats it till next time - the washing up is calling B)

It's amazing how time consuming these forum type flat threads can be, You can spend hours in here, looking at the various opinions. I like some posters better than others, usually the ones who have someting interesting to say rather than the one-liners.

you got that right! I, too, spend hours flicking from thread to thread. Then when I'm done with reading the forum, I'm off checking my other interests on the net. The wife reckons she's a computer divorcee and often jokes about supergluing her wedding ring to the monitor B) Today, I got up and came down and immediately switched the computer on. Her comment when she saw where I was "I'm gonna put a complaint in". Maybe I should give her a few more cuddles in the morning

I'm glad it's not just me then. Just been on a field trip to check out the heels of Nuneaton (oh alright then I've been out for a beer or 3 on a Friday night). Not much to report on the heel front tonight sorry.

yes, this site is quite addictive. it's fun to read what other people both men and women have to say about high heels and the wearing of them. high heels can be a real sexual thing. i spend way to much time here, but like it anyway.

patent leather and classic high heel pumps area.

Yup, it's great to be in here reading and talking. I'd spend too much time in here but for the fact that my EPM's monitor our web usage quite closely, and I'm not ready for that conversation. Especially as it'd probably go something like this: Me: Hello? Them: You're fired. So, it's only when I'm near a phone line  . But sometimes, I'll spend a while reading, then post a couple. According to my profile, I've managed 1% of the total posts, tho', so I must be talking more than I thought B)

Obsessed is such a strong word. I prefer to think of myself as "differently enthusiastic"

I don't generally surf from work, I'm too busy, except maybe at lunchtime. I think if I was at a large employer where they had network monitoring, I would just take in a lap top and use that. I don't ever surf for porn or anything nasty, it's not my scene, but I'm sure footwear message boards are not counted as productive activity

I sneak some mail, but like you Fox, I suspect it would not sit well to be discovered using the work computers for personal non work related use. And I dare not use one of the public computers. Anyone odd the street can come and watch, and I have no wish to let people see the girl behind the curtain as the giant holographic face tells Dorothy where to go. Where to go to buy shoes, not anything bad!

Agree Firefox, when I say 'work' I mean out of work hours and that I should be doing something more constructive like updating my web site which I haven't had much time for recently. Like you I'm snowed under at work. See that you've found a new pic! Debbie

Agreed, don't surf much at work, but this site is sucking up my time at home. I often run into points in coversation & say, 'haven't I read this B4?' I'm gettin' better though... sorta, I have Jenny's site in another window.

I don't think that there are any limits Melissa. Only to the point that new threads are different and that people don't post in the correct thread - in which case they get locked and moved to the appropriate place. Debbie

I'd never dream of coming here from my work computer. I totally believe in keeping my work life and home life seperate. Charlie at work isn't nearly as much fun as Charlie at home anyways! Isn't it slick how I got out of telling everyone just HOW much time I spend here!? B) Charlie

Everything I say is a lie!.......I'm lying

Charlie, how did you get out of telling us, no one is forcing you B) Slick, that's what people do to hair, isn't it? Charlie, I am amused. You are patting yourself on the back for being slick and we would not have noticed otherwise. Yes, you are fun, and if you are not as much fun at work, don't ever log on at work, the rest of us would wonder who had stolen your user name.

As for limits, since Melissa mentioned it, there are so few they hard to remember. I think the general rules about being respectful in postings and what have you, are the only limits we can have! Otherwise, there's a place for you to talk about what you like, and if not, someone can make one!

With the number of topics rising it will become increasingly difficult to post under the correct thread without duplicating, especially for the new folks. As an early member I saw the subjects grow and although I'm checking daily it gets difficult remembering what topic was posted in which chapter. Were the new boots under the for the guys, gals, everybody, what have you bought lately, got my new shoes? I can imagine a newcomer has even more problems. I think this will become a problem when the board expands (members and topics) giving our administrators lots of work moving threads to their correct place and locking the one started in duplicate.

Be youself, enjoy any footwear you like and don't care about what others think about it, it's your life, not theirs. Greetings from Laurence

Limits, few except for the equity one's (ie racist etc comments), you can even engage in light hearted banter. Ask Laurie, think she and I do plenty, yet at the end of it we both think on simular lines. Inga

It's the same as RL though isn't it? You have a few rules and some cops who enforce them if anyone gets naughty. Only, the people in here unlike those in RL, probably understand your passion for shoes better than most you're likely to meet, and that may well include your current partner if you have one, in my experience anyway. Which, getting back to the topic, explains why we can't get any work done. Because coming here is the only chance we get to discuss these things with intelligent people who understand. Plus we can have fun, and we're mates as well, so what more could you want?

Fox, you just asked the world's second most dangerous question. What more could we want? Money, power, unlimited closet space for hundreds of pairs of shoes and boots... B) The world's most dangerous question is, of course, "Can you do me a favour?" Watch out for that one... If you'd like to comment on this, bring it to the general discussion area, as it will end up going there anyway.
