The Jaunts of JeffB!

Jeff ...

Great to hear from you again and as always, enjoy reading about your jaunts. I have been heeling in public on a regular basis and have been terrible about reporting my outings. Like you, I'm going to try to do better next year and as I have stated before, you and Thighbootguy inspire my on the different places you wear high heels, the outfits and high heels you wear, and the reports of your outings that you share with the community. Great hearing from you and keep heeling!:)

JeffB - I am glad to se you are posting again! It is good to read that you were not “kidnapped by space aliens” but it was their loss and our gain. Sounds like you had a fine outing. I still think many of the readers of these posts have no concept of what it is like for a guy to be strolling down the street wearing thigh boots with heels, not having a care in the world, and getting no negative reaction from anyone. I have the same outfit, including the gloves, except that all my leather jackets are ladies jackets. For a long time I did find it “rather exciting” to wear this outfit but anymore it is just a comfortable, and good looking way to dress. Gloves were my first foray into wearing ladies stuff and I have always loved wearing them Wearing gloves started long before I discovered boots.. I have pairs that range from wrist length to past my shoulder. I will grant a good deal of poetic license to your idea that “I probably could've worn a pink sequined evening gown, a beehive wig and a tiara and wouldn't have drawn so much as a glance”. That would be noticed. I find that the amount of “notice” I get does go up when I’m wearing a skirt rather than jeans. The notice seems inversely proportional to the length of the skirt. I’ll bet most of the gals already knew that. Anyway… It is good to read that you out and about again. :)

I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Hey, roniheels! Glad to read that you enjoyed my latest little outing, and that you've been enjoying your own adventures. Good for you, my friend! Keep up the great work!

JeffB -

Sounds like you had a fine outing. I still think many of the readers of these posts have no concept of what it is like for a guy to be strolling down the street wearing thigh boots with heels, not having a care in the world, and getting no negative reaction from anyone.

Quite true. I must admit that there are times I find myself somewhat conflicted when I get no reactions from passersby while on my outings. On one hand, I'm pleased that no one raises a fuss at seeing a man wearing high heels, but on the other hand, I'd like someone to approach me and discuss, comment and/or ask questions my attire so I could talk about same, something I rarely get the chance to do.

I have the same outfit, including the gloves, except that all my leather jackets are ladies jackets. For a long time I did find it “rather exciting” to wear this outfit but anymore it is just a comfortable, and good looking way to dress.

I might just have to invest in a ladies leather jacket as I'm becoming more comfortable dressed from head to toe in women's clothing while on my outings.

I find that the amount of “notice” I get does go up when I’m wearing a skirt rather than jeans. The notice seems inversely proportional to the length of the skirt.

I'll second that! On those rare times I wore a short skirt, I did indeed get some double takes here and there. I continue to be amazed how people get so worked up over gender and clothing.

Anyway… It is good to read that you out and about again.

Well, after that snowstorm we got here on Sunday, it might be awhile before I can go out again.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

1/3/2011:

With the arrival of 2011, plus all that yucky snow from last Sunday having melted away, it was time for the first jaunt of the new year. And here's my outfit:

Posted Image

My familiar black leather jacket over a women's black mockneck, the Gloria Vanderbilt "Amanda" jeans, the Pleaser 8868 "Legend" thigh high boots, my women's black leather gloves and my women's wrist watch. Like back on Christmas Eve, I was all women's clothes save for the jacket, and found it to have been a pleasurable experience. With temperatures at a nippy 30 degrees when I left around 11 a.m., I figured that jeans would make for a safer, and warmer option, so off I went, heading west to Springfield. My first stop was to an ATM for some cash, as I walked back to my car, I passed an older gentleman who jokingly asked if I left any cash in the machine, I chuckled and told him I did. Even though I've put on a few extra pounds over the past couple of months, I headed to Pizza Hut™ for lunch. The lot was fairly empty and there were only half a dozen people in the place when I walked in around noon.

Despite how I was dressed, I was treated no different from anyone else in the place as I chowed down from the buffet bar, scarfing down half a dozen slices of Meat Lover's pizza with iced tea. Yummy! From there, it was off to Border's bookstore, unlike on Christmas Eve, the store was quiet and relatively empty, not a madhouse with a seemingly endless line for the register. After picking half a dozen magazines and buying a cup of hot tea, it was off to the lounge area where I spent a good hour plus leisurely reading and getting warmed up from the tea. From there, I left for my final stop of the day, the Springfield Mall, like every other mall in the land, it was considerably less busy and more quiet, what with Christmas having come and gone. Walking through the mall, I did get a few odd looks and double takes from my attire, but no one gave me so much as the time of day while I walked through the place at a slow pace.

All in all, it had been fun to go out again in the thigh high boots which are an absolute delight to wear, and, paired with the tight jeans, it made for quite a bold combination, one I enjoy wearing, and will continue wearing for the immediate future....unless I decide to squeeze in a jaunt in a skirt. Heh!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Sounds as if you are having fun. What a great way to start out the new year. Keep working those boots!

Thanks for the kind words! I'll certainly do the very best I can as I'm having a lot of fun wearing my thigh boots!

1/4/2011:

Another day, another fun filled thigh boot romp for yours truly. Here's today's outfit:

My favorite black leather jacket over a women's white mockneck, Gloria Vanderbilt "Amanda" jeans in black and the Pleaser 8868 "Legend" thigh high boots which I love more and more every time I wear them. I've broken them in quite nicely, they look great on me when paired with skin tight jeans and the four inch heels make for easy, all day wearing. After going west on Monday, I decided to go north today, namely Parx Casino in Bensalem, it should be noted that with today's excursion, I've been there three times now, and on each occasion, I've worn heels (the very first time in a skirt) and feel quite comfortable freestyling there. As it was noon on a weekday when I arrived, the parking lot was fairly full and the gaming floor was fairly crowded and full of activity. With five twenties in my wallet, I proceeded to the one cent machines to try my luck and, after some twenty minutes or so, I won little over $120 bucks which I immediately pocketed. WHOO! Lucky me, and I don't get that lucky all the time. Heh!

After an hour and a half spent in the casino, I headed for home, but I did make a stop along the way as I felt like pushing that ol' envelope in my freestyling, so I parked in Center City near Rittenhouse Square, THE most hip spot in the downtown area, crowded with stores and shoppers galore, with that, I hopped out and wandered about, my goal was to be seen. After walking a couple of blocks at a leisurely pace, not getting so much as a double take, gasp, chortle, insult about my sexuality or squeal of hilarity at how I was dressed, a fellow who was about my age caught my attention and said my outfit "looked sharp". I grinned and thanked him. Hey, not bad! Wandering into the Apple Store, nearly four blocks from where I parked, I window shopped there for some twenty minutes before buying a portable 8GB flash drive for me to put on my keyring and store data on. Walking out, I strolled back up the street to where I parked, again, garnering not even a peep from pedestrians, I found that rather refreshing that no one paid me any mind.

Another successful outing in heels which made me feel terrific while broadening my horizons ever so much more with my stopover downtown. I can't wait to see where my jaunting will take me next!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Well, thank you for the kind words. I simply do the very best I can with what skills I happen to have. Oh, and thanks for the idea! I might just look into that!

1/5/2011:

On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again! Third jaunt in as many days, here's today's outfit:

Posted Image

My favorite black leather jacket over a women's red mockneck, the Gloria Vanderbilt "Amanda" jeans (yes, I have three pairs in different colors), the Pleaser 8868 "Legend" thigh high boots and my women's black leather gloves which I needed as it was pretty chilly out today, what with temps hovering only in the mid to upper 30's, but I didn't care, I just wanted to hit the road in heels and see what would happen. My first stop was to a downtown branch of my bank to crack that Benjamin I won the previous day into more manageable twenties. While crossing the street to the bank, I couple of lunkheads driving by in a pickup truck hooted and whistled derisively at me, but I ignored them. Once in the bank, I was treated civilly like any other customer, despite my attire, I was in line for just a couple of minutes before I was waited on and was in and out of the bank in little under five minutes, pretty as you please.

Stop number two was to my local comic shop a few blocks away, after going through the minor headache of finding a place to park, nearly a block away from the shop, I attracted the attention of a couple of guys delivering beer to a comedy club, they gave me long looks and chuckled, I ignored them too. After a solid half-hour in the shop, it was back in the car and I headed over the river into South Jersey, heading to Barnes & Noble near the Moorestown Mall where I enjoyed a light lunch in their lounge area, then loaded a new ebook onto my nook™ e-reader (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes) to enjoy at my leisure. During the time I was in the lounge area, I purposely crossed my legs so passersby could see the boots, but no one said a thing. I spent a solid hour reading before moving on to the store's movie section where, much to my delight, I found Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo on Blu-Ray (which I plan to watch tonight), making my visit to the store all the more enjoyable.

After leaving the bookstore, I swung by Moorestown Mall to visit a comic book shop there, which meant walking through the mall itself, but it was quiet, no one gave me the time of time, but, sadly, the shop was closed. Bummer. So, I casually strolled through the mall so I could be seen before leaving, I did notice some teenagers in the place when they should've been in school. Tsk. All in all, another good outing in my thigh boots, which each trip, I feel more and more comfortable in them, it's a pity more folks, male and female don't avail themselves of the opportunity to wear such great boots which are great fun.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo

Now that represents most excellent taste in movies!

and

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is great reading material but I still prefer the paper version. The concept of "curling up with a good book" just dosen't have the same impact when you replace "good book" with nook™ e-reader.

Maybe, but you can't beat the price I spent to upload that e-book to my nook™...$1.99! And I can curl up with my e-reader quite nicely! Heh!

Another good outfit there JeffB. I have worn similar outfits in public, but keep my boots under my jeans.

Awww! Where's the fun in that? HA!

1/6/2011:

Today makes my fourth outing in as many days, and boy, am I ever tired! Heh! Well, with snow in the forecast for Friday, I figured I'd better get in my fun while I can! As for today's outfit:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Yep, I'm all black from head to toe: leather jacket, women's turtleneck, Gloria Vanderbilt "Amanda" jeans, the Pleaser 8868 "Legend" thigh high boots and my women's black leather gloves since it was nippy outside again. Hitting the road, I headed westward towards Springfield, my first stop of the day being Best Buy (my second home, HA!) for some serious aisle wandering and ogling at all things gizmo, it was little after 11 a.m. when I arrived and it was fairly quiet inside, not much in the way of crowds, so I wandered about at my leisure, what customers there were in the store paid me little to no mind, which was okay with me. I wound up spending about an hour in the store, which I often do when at Best Buy, I wound up going to the register with Salt (the movie, not the condiment) for viewing back at home. What can I say? Angelina Jolie looked awesome in that flick! As I left the store, a woman looked me up and down and grinned. Neat.

Stop number two was Subway for lunch. The place was empty save for an Asian man in a suit and tie having lunch, when I walked past, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that he stopped eating and gave me a long look, I saw no disapproval, disgust, shock or surprise on his face, he simply gave me a long look, as if silently critiquing me. Well, I sure hope I passed muster with him. By the time I sat down with my order (the Subway Club, my favorite sammich), the Asian had finished up and left with one last, but shorter glance my way while going out the store. After I finished lunch, I headed further west, as to Micro Center, a nationwide computer chain store to check out some anti-virus software for Apple computers. After entering the store, the sound of my heels heralding my arrival, a couple of people turned to stare, looking totally puzzled as to what they stared at, but nothing more. A couple more people did the same during the time I was in the store.

That didn't bother me, but I did find it curious that people regarded me with puzzlement and confusion. I guess word hadn't gotten out that a few men choose to exhibit their own unique fashion sense, which included wearing tight jeans and high heeled thigh boots. Oh, well, nothing I can do about that. That comes with the territory when I decided to openly practice my fashion freestyling, leaving nothing to hide, exposing myself to the world when I choose to do so, if I wasn't willing to deal with all the myriad reactions, both positive and negative and everything inbetween, then, I'd stay huddled in the closet, and, for me, that's a losing proposition. Life is too short for that sort of thing.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

1/22/2011:

On what was easily one of the coldest days of the season when temperatures struggled to reach into the mid 20's, I could've stayed indoors, cuddled up in front of my big screen TV and gorged myself on college hoops. However, I had other ideas: yep, a jaunt! Here's today's outfit:

Posted Image

Posted Image

A thick, warm winter jacket over a women's black turtleneck, women's jeans and the Pleaser 8868 "Legend" thigh high boots along with black leather gloves and ear muffs. My first stop of the day was to Best Buy out in Springfield to buy myself a wireless router so I could go online from my PS3 downstairs where said big screen TV was. I spent little over an hour in the store where I got advice on which router would work best for me and otherwise just wandering the aisles gazing at all the juicy gizmos that gets my engine running. And get this, not one, but TWO black women complimented me on my boots, one jokingly said she'd love to take mine since she loved them so much. I grinned and told her I got them from Amazon.com, she nodded and grinned, methinks she's probably going to make a buy there pretty darn soon! Heh! Otherwise, I was just another shopper in the store, treated with every bit as much consideration as everyone else.

After leaving Best Buy, it was off to Subway for lunch, nothing interesting happened there as I was the only person in the store at around 12:30, then, I headed to Borders to spend some quality time in the lounge area with half a dozen magazines and a tall cup of hot chocolate, both I thoroughly enjoyed, the highlight being a couple of young girls, no more than four or so staring at me in puzzlement. I mean, really, had they never seen a man wearing heels before? Heh! As I headed to the register with the latest issue of Macworld, I heard the telltale giggle of the average teenage girl, followed by the faux "click" of a shutter, glancing over my shoulder, I saw two girls, one holding a smartphone which she used to take a pic of me. I guess they had never seen a man in heels and needed proof for their own benefit. So be it. Being out in public on a jaunt means having to deal with that sort of thing from time to time, and I was used to that sort of thing.

Once again, it felt highly invigorating to have been on a jaunt, despite the cold, I was perfectly comfortable, guess the boots had something to do with that. And, of course, I enjoyed being out and about in heels, it's just the sort of great feeling that stays with me long after I've returned home.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Sounds as if you had another great experience. Those black ladies have good taste as they can appreciate a man that does such a nice job of working his boots. Any kind of a sincere compliment means a lot.

Yes indeed! Seeing that I rarely get compliments when out and about, that makes me appreciate those sort of kind words all the more.

Another great jaunt, Jeff. Isn't it great when women, or men, compliment you on the high heeled footwear you are wearing? And I don't know about you, but I even enjoy the looks and giggles from whomever, and in my case, it too is usually some young girls or even guys. But as I have said before, that to is part of the experience. Thanks again for another great post.

2/19/2011:

Despite some dreadfully blustery and chilly weather today, I decided to head out on a jaunt as I was itching to perch myself on some heels and have fun. Here's today's outfit:

A brand new faux leather jacket with biker-like styling that I bought from JCPenney for $19.99 over a red turtleneck, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and my trusty Pleaser 8868 "Legend" thigh high boots along with black leather gloves. My first stop of the day was downtown to my favorite comic book shop that I frequent, and here's where I had a humorous little experience. Just as I got out of the car and headed to the nearby kiosk for a parking pass, a middle aged Latino fellow staggered past, even though it was barely noon, I could smell the booze on the guy as it was evident that he drank his lunch. Here's the humor, the guy stopped turned around, stared at me in utter confusion, then staggered up to me, pointing at my boots. He muttered something to me in Spanish while still pointing, but my Spanish was nonexistent, so I shrugged and said "No habla Espanol." He pointed again, then shrugged himself and staggered off. Talk about a weird experience.

After a good twenty or so minutes in the store buying the latest and greatest comics, I left and headed around the corner for a nearby convenience store to buy a newspaper, two black women, looking to be about my age, coming the other way, smiled broadly, waved to me and complimented me on my boots, saying they looked sharp and that they looked great on me. I smiled and thanked them for the kind words. Ahh! Nothing like a compliment about a guy's high heels to make him feel damn good inside! Obviously those women had excellent taste! From there, I headed off into South Jersey and the Barnes & Noble bookstore near the Moorestown Mall where I had a light snack with a mug of hot tea, roamed the aisles, bought a couple of magazines and was otherwise treated just like any other customer, despite standing head and shoulders over practically everyone else in the the place. My last stop of the day was to Best Buy where I spent nearly an hour wandering the aisles of electronic and digital goodness, sat in a home theater recliner with my feet up so everyone could see the boots while I watched some college hoops, then went to the register with Sherlock, the BBC 3 episode miniseries that reimagined Sherlock Holmes in 21st century London, something I've been dying to watch. All in all, it was a delightful outing where I got to wear my favorite boots and loved every minute of the experience!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Sounds like another fun time for you. It seems as if the Black ladies know more of what is going on. Most of them are great dressers themselves. They can appreciate your good taste. Too bad the young white girls can not. Congratulations on another excellent jaunt.

JeffB - I’m not sure I like the red and light blue combination, maybe a black or dark blue turtleneck would offer a little less contrast. Other then that, your looking great as usual. As you say, complements are always nice to get. I’ve been in a couple of places that sell furniture but I haven’t the opportunity to try something out that would let me kick back and show off my boots. Bravo for the audacity for doing that. I also find bookstores a great place to be around other people that love books (and generally don’t care if you wear boots). Another place you might try is a library. There are generally a lot of book lovers there and the staff, at least, are generally glad to see you (even is boots). Once you have been there a couple of times, even the patrons will get used to seeing a guy in thigh boots.

I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Did you just say that you aren't sure about a tee-shirt going with blue-jeans??? Or that red and blue are somehow incompatible?

TBG: Well, my other jeans were in the cleaners. Besides, I had been curious about pairing red with that color denim. Heck, for me, it's all about experimenting with fashion to see what works and what doesn't. By the by, dblair, I like the look you sported in your avatar! Perhaps I'll "borrow" it for a future jaunt. Heh! As for my audacity in showing off my boots yesterday, well, why not? It's part of the fun, isn't it? Double heh! A library, eh? Hmm! Interesting! Perhaps I'll give that a try sometime! kfsteve391: Yes, it's been rather remarkable that the bulk of the compliments I've gotten of late have come from black women of "a certain age". It's the much younger women and girls who seem to find it humorous. Oh, well, what can you do?

2/20/2011:

With the weather not quite so cold and blustery today like it was on Saturday, I decided to venture out again, this time, in a skirt! Here's the outfit:

Posted Image

Posted Image

My favorite black leather jacket over a woman's white mock turtleneck, the black 37 inch A-line skirt, black tights (it was still a tad nippy out), a black fashion belt, the Payless "Tara" boots, black leather gloves and my faux croco print handbag. My destination was Parx Casino to spend a few sheckels, but my first stop was an ATM near downtown for said sheckels, after parking, I got out just as a woman was struggling to get the door to open with her ATM card, flustered, she asked me to give it a try, saying she thought the lock wasn't working. I gave the door a try with my card and voila, it opened, Grinning, she thanked me as we entered the bank lobby, she even insisted I go first since I got the door to open, not one whit she uttered about my attire, nor did she even give me any odd looks as I went about my business, then I bid her goodbye and to have a nice day.

From there, it was off to Parx to spend those sheckels. In the parking lot, I got an odd look from a couple of guys who were leaving the casino as I was entering, once inside, no one paid me a moment's attention despite my attire since everyone was busy working slot machines and trying to make their big score. For something like an hour and a half, I became one of those people, working a penny slot machine as I sought to win back some cash, and, for the most part, I did fairly good, winning something over $80.00 on one machine. WHOO!! Oh, I know I wasn't about to win a king's ransom on penny machines, I was just there to spend some time and have some fun, and, I accomplished that little mission. For the record, today had been the fourth time I had been to Parx, and on each occasion, I wore heels and/or a skirt, and will definitely do so again because I felt comfortable and at ease in that environment.

Being back in a skirt for the first time in a while, I had forgotten how much fun it was to wear one, and while I enjoy showing off my legs in a short skirt, wearing that calf length number today was, in it's own way, even more fun for me. Oh, yeah, it had also been a while since I last wore the "Tara" boots and they were as great to wear and great looking as ever. Maybe I was a tad overdressed for a Sunday, but I had seen more than a few ladies going in and out of church in my neighborhood wearing long black skirts and heels, be they pumps or boots, so I felt right at home. Heh! In short, another terrific outing!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Another day, another jaunt as I had off from work for President's Day. Even though it had been overcast and chilly, I was still determined to out and about, and with a new round of snow on the way tonight, I figured I'd better hit the road today as I don't know when my next opportunity would be. As for today's outfit:

Posted Image

Posted Image

My black leather jacket over a women's turquoise mockneck, a 35 inch A-line black skirt with black tights beneath (because of the aforementioned chill in the air), a black fashion belt, the Payless "Tara" boots and a large handbag which I needed for today's outing. As has been the case with past adventures, with the exception of the jacket, I wore women's clothing and footwear from head to toe, and I felt supremely confident, and comfortable in the outfit I wore. After all, clothes are clothes, should anyone really care which side of the aisle they came from? As long as I look tasteful, don't attract too much attention to myself and am protected from the elements, that's all I care about.

Anyhoo, my first stop of the day was into the heart of downtown Philadelphia, namely the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Rittenhouse Square to get in some reading. After a turn around the block to look for a parking space, I finally pulled into a spot just about across the street from the store, paid for two hours of parking time and casually crossed Walnut Street and into the store, pretty as you please. I headed up to the store's second floor cafe/lounge area where I bought a bottle of lemonade, took a small table and brought out my Barnes & Noble nook™ e-reader from my handbag, took off my jacket and made myself right at home as I enjoyed reading the Complete Sherlock Holmes for almost two hours, and, for the most part, no one paid any attention to me, despite how I was dressed. I could've stayed longer, but my gadget was running low on power, ditto for my stomach, so I packed up and left the store with the same casual air I displayed when I arrived.

From the there, I headed west again and into Springfield, first to Subway for lunch, had a bit of a wait since there was only one attendant behind the counter and the line was six deep, giving customers plenty of time to notice me, but the only one who did to any extent was a young mother with her toddler daughter, and the woman only cocked a curious eyebrow at me. After getting my order and sitting down, I was some ten feet away from said mother who faced me and gave me a tiny smile before she left some ten minutes prior to my having finished my meal. I guess the woman found my attire interesting, if not amusing. I couldn't tell since she never addressed me. After leaving Subway, it was off to Borders to get in some more reading of the daily newspaper and a couple of Mac magazines, keeping me busy for well over an hour. As I've mentioned before, bookstores are absolutely delightful places to freestyle as it's quiet and no one at all bothers you.

My final stop of the day was Best Buy as I was looking for an anime movie I was interested in on Blu-Ray, it was, but I still found time to goof off in the aisles, checking out all the latest and greatest gizmos before heading to the checkout, then heading home. Another pleasant outing that made me feel better about myself and my freestyling, especially about wearing skirts in public which has again become as natural to me as breathing, and is something I want to do (with heels) more and more. While this is misguided ego, and I don't even begin to deny it, I happen to think that skirts look good on me, and I feel good when wearing them, which is VERY important when it comes to freestyling. Hopefully, I'll be able to head out again this weekend, weather permitting of course.

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Great look,I like your freestyling.Maybe think for a shorter tailored jacket....I double the opinion about the clothes and other apparel, they are just objects.Women share such views about appearance since 1940's so we have been for too long behind.
