  1. I agree with Doc. They'll never look wrong, no matter what. Since you asked, I'll venture the though (keep several grains of salt around) that a pant or slack of a fabric finer than denim would heighten the elegance of the HHs, and you right along with them! To me, navy (?) and gold don't give off a casual or funky vibe. Skirt/dress? Again, think elegance and the HHs will put you right there! But hey, I'm a guy...what do I know? I've only seen two seasons of Runway with Heidi & Co....and they do a pretty poor job of showing the shoes. If you watch the show, notice the quick flashes you get of Nina Garcia's shoes. She wears some of the best looking stuff you'll hope to see. Thanks for the pic, UpBy5

  2. HHBoots, Right on...no substitute for the facts. It gets back to my complaint about the industry: no standard or index number to describe the "steepness" of the shoe. If shoe size is taken out of the mix, a heel-to-sole/platform height difference gives a good indication of the steepness. Throw in the size, however, and a whole different mystery emerges. A 14cm heel on a size 5 must be close to a 9" fetish ballet shoe. The same heel on a size 12 gets to be a nice but not really "high" heel look. If you're trying 'em on in the store all this is immaterial; online shopping gets into guesswork as the shoes pictured don't specify the size on display. That would really tell a lot...and save a lot of returns/exchanges. Just for me, I've learned that you have to look far & wide to find a shoe with a greater-than-4" heel-sole difference, regardless the heel height. SexyShoes.com, HighestHeel.com and 6ihf are the only palces I've found that'll have 5"+ differential shoes on offer and they are all no-plat. single sole shoes. Rant, rant, rant.... UpBy5

  3. hi, i only wear mens clothing and outfits, but shoe wise anything goes, always boots, any lentgh, any heel height up to 4" stilletto, either under or over jeans, if a woman can wear them then why cant i? the buzz is similar to that of getting ready to board a large rollercoaster, adrenaline and excitement

    Maninboots,

Well put...I know the adrenaline rush well, just not often enough. Glad I have company.

  4. Upby5,

    Welcome to the forum!

It has been a while since I have dealt with 6ihf. When they first started out, they were willing to customize a style to what a buyer wanted, but then they standardized everything. You'll be able to change colors, materials, and heights according to their product lines, but any further embellishments or changes would have to be approved first. This may or may not change the total cost of your order.

It is a good idea to contact them first, before you actually order, and place your concerns about the shoes you want to order and how they make their different heel heights or any custom work you would like done, should you want something different than the exact lines they offer. I wanted 15cm stiletto heels and they seem to use the 16cm style, only shortened, which made the appearance of the heel slant under the shoe, creating an unstable perception that the heel would buckle under the shoe as I stood or walked in them. Had I kept the height at 16cm the shoes would have been fine, after I mastered walking in such high heels. (Also, consider the styling cut of the vamp. Some styles cut the sides of the uppers too low and create annoying pressure points by the finished edges.)

Otherwise, the footwear was what I had ordered. I did send them the necessary measurements of both my feet according to the order diagram. This helped them to make the toe box at the width I needed. Just make sure you are specifically clear about their perception of what you have ordered. If there are any other questions that I might be able to help with, just let me know.

    Histiletto,

Many thanks for the thorough description of your experience! Your comment on using the 16cm base shoe and adding only a 15cm heel, or simply clipping the tip back by 1 cm, is most important. "Roll-under", even a little, can ruin the fun. I have a really cheap pair of 6", single sole no platform HH with the roll-under problem. The heel shape is such that the tip is well forward of the center of the heel attachment point on the base. The shoes are useless. I don't know if its a 5"/6" substitution thing or just plain bad design. Happily, there's next to no money invested. Armed with your info I'll be giving them a buzz and ordering a pair of 15cm's to start with, after mentioning the problem you described. Again, thanks, especially for the invitation to reconnect with questions. Man, can I use that!

  5. Two things!

    1) If you are able to post the above comment, you are able to post an introduction. The procedure is exactly the same.

    2) The "REALLY Bold Dude" hasn't posted here. All of the comments about him have been posted by other members that have "viewed" his picture that was posted on the internet. As far as I know, no one really knows his identity.

Hey, thanks for the input. I think I got it right, but its under the title (?) bar startting "Seriously...." in the Introductions section. Wish I could change that. I'll check with the admin. folks.

  6. DawnHH, With apologies to jmc, Hear, Hear! I've been here only a week or so and the prospect and real possibility of streetheeling is getting stronger by the day. So far that's been the greatest benefit of reading about others' experiences, gathering courage & confidence to step further out into public and how to go about it. Only been public twice (got seen, obviously) once.) This whole site is a valuable service for us newbies! UpBy5

  7. Histiletto, Glad you mentioned 6 inch heels forever! I've come very close to ordering, but timid due to not having conversed with someone who has delt with them. I would like to know if their shoes run a bit wide for size, or narrow. Also, their site suggests sending a diagram of your foot along with a number of measurements. Did you do this or just take a standard China size from their charts? Me, as a guy, a little wide at the ball of the foot helps when at a womans size 10. Perfect length, but usually a tad narrow across the ball. I'd really appreciate any info or insight you could provide. Again, thanks! UPBy5 (in Virginia)

  8. DawnHH, on your post of May 14th, Having only stumbled across this site two weeks ago, I feel right at home; particularly with 9+ of us old farts participating. Based on posts by the 18 - 25s, reading some of the older guys' trials, errors & subsequent successes, I hope they will continue to check some of our posts and responses. Example: before any of them become permanently attached to a partner, make damned sure that person knows all about the HH thing! MUCH grief can be saved. Take it from an old coot. UPBy5

  9. Bubba136, In your response to HHDude of May 14, 2010, you commented to the effect that "youth" interest in things waxed & waned fairly quickly. As dad of 3 now middleage sons, I agree wholeheartedly. However I will argue that the erotic component of HH interest is the cause of much of the waxing and, in my personal case, no detectable waning of any kind over a 56 year run. Judging from the many comments of other long-term and experienced heelers, the sustained interest is pretty much universal.

  10. I have a client who is a licensed accupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. Thanks be to the powers of the Universe I don't have headaches, but my client tells me a good part her practice is for the alleviation of migraines. Find an experienced accupunturist and give it a try. You might find a long-term solution. A visit lasts about an hour at about $ 70 - $ 90 (USD) in metro Richmond, VA. Migraines can be most debilitating! Many in my family were sufferers..unfortunately before accupuncture became mainstream. I've seen it! My heart goes out to you all. UpBy5

  11. jcb123, although I'm less than a week old here myself, I can confirm that you have indeed joined a like-minded group who, based on their posts, largely feel about HH as you do. Maybe after sniffing about for a while, you would feel comfortable expanding on your initial, introductory post. We're all listening. UpBy5"

  12. I'm with you Mtnsofheels, different strokes, and all that good '60s stuff. There is another thought that occurs to me; a male in anklestrap, black, round-toe flats is a man in womens' shoes and perceived as such by most of the public. I think that's the core of the issue. In my book, the public attitude that goes with it is discrimination of a sort; heel height and the rest seem details. UPBy5

  13. I wear a black jacket and jeans with various pairs of stiletto black or brown boots in public. My boots that I use in public have heel heights between 4 and 5 inches. Usually I wear then under jeans , but the the jeans are fairly slim and clearly show almost all the heel when standing and the entire heel when walking. I can see this from my reflection in shop windows as I walk along.

Recently I was on business in another town and bought a new pair of boots. With the intent to finally pick up the courage to wear black knee length boots outside my jeans. They have 5" heels and a small platform and an almond shaped toe. I decided to try them on in the shop before buying them. They fitted great and I walked around to see how they felt. The female sales assistant and 2 other female customers looked at me but said nothing. When paying I asked her if they sold many such boots to men. She answered no and laughed saying that it was really unusual. After leaving the shop I walked around with them under my jeans. They are pretty comfy to walk in allowing a natural easy stride. It was early evening and just turning dusk in the walking streets and there were still plenty of people around as the shops were just closing. Walking around with my boots under my jeans was as usual great fun but I got vitually no visible reactions from people. I sat on a bench in a relatively empty walking street, unzipped the boots and re-zipped them over my jeans. I felt a new level of anxiousness mixed with excitement as I was now more clearly exposed. Standing up and begining to walk around felt the same of course because the boots had not changed, but I somehow expected a different feeling. The unchanged feeling allowed my courage level to rise. My reflection in the shop windows was now far more dramatic and I thought there was no way people could not notice. I kind of wanted to be noticed, but was also apprehensive at the thought. Amazingly as I started to walk past people there was still no reaction. I kept my head high and kept walking. A few poeple seemed to stare blankly at me , but still no obvious reactions. As my courage grew I walked into streets with more people around. I walked a little more heavily on the heels to get a louder click clack out of them. In total after about 45 minutes the only clear reaction I got was a wolf whistle (which was great even if it was sarcastic) from a group of people sitting at an outside cafe having drinks.

After this it was back to my hotel. I managed to pluck up the courage to walk through reception across the tiled floor which was somehow tougher than walking in the street and then back to my room to relax from the buzz of my new level of heeling.

Thanks for the detailed experience..gets me psychologicaly closer to "stepping out".

  14. At this point I don't wear alot of the shoes that I buy out of the house. I am more of a boot guy. Plus with winter fast approaching they won't see much action either. But if I were to wear them out I don't see why they couldn't be worm with jeans. Even though they are elegant, that is how I tried them on in the store, and they looked damn good.

As far as the where I would wear them. Based on what I see on womens feet around here they are a little too dressy for everyday. They would probably have to be worn for a night out to a club or something.

I am open to other outfit and location suggestions though.

Mr. X: Do I spy a pair of sandals from 6IHF.com there amongst the maple leaves? If so, I'd really like to hear about your experience with the retailer/Etailer as I have almost picked up the phone and ordered from their site a number of times. Owing to 1) the fact that they don't exactly give their HHs away, and 2) they don't put the shoe size on most of the descriptions of the shoes pictured making it hard to judge how a China size 42 or 43 might fit, I havent' taken the plunge. Any info you could provide would be most appreciated.

  15. Bubba136, thanks for the clue. Here's my intro, probably more than anyone wants to know: I'm UpBy5, extra inches off the floor at "heel times", not early AM for sure. The seed of interest in HH began at about age 4. The specific incident is crystal clear to this day. It grew quietly, unnoticed until aobut age 14 when I recognized that girls and women wearing HH were of much more teenage boy interest than those without, a subject that never came up with male friends. Next, school, marriage, kids. Finally at about ge 25, I ventured out to a large, newly opened discount dept. store and bought my first HH; 3" clear lucite springolators (anyone remember them?), at least one size too small as it turned out. They were spirited into the house and cleverly stashed inside an old, never-used pair of engineer/motorcycle boots. They were never satisfactory, but better than nothing. Cut forward several decades. With the springolators and boots discarded in a house move and the advent of internet shopping, I ordered two pair of 4" HH from, predictably, Fredericks of H'wood. Next, 6" Pleasers for me, clandestinely, and a similar pair for my bride. She was thrilled, always having loved HH, but now unable to stand or walk in them due to very bad knee conditions. When I approached her about my wearing HH, just at our private times (why should she have all the fun?), she replied in a distraught, angerless tone "...I want to be the girl." and "...I could never see you as a man again." Hmm. Not much wiggle room there, and there it stands today. Unknown, I believe, to her I now have about a dozen pair, having tossed several pair to Goodwill. And its time to cull the stash again. Other that wearing HH around the house when alone, I've only been outside on several occasions to collect trash bins and twice to the post office on a Sunday. Got seen once at a distance by some people in a car, but on comments. They just stopped, looked, and drove on. My first "tight-pit-of-the-stomach" HH experience. Four days ago, I stumbled across this site on a search for "high heel stories". What a godsend! At last! Kindred spirits with similar feelings and experiences. I've been reading some of the member commentary, and know I've found a home away form home. REALLY glad to be here.... UpBy5
