  1. He could also throw in there "Judge not, lest ye be judged". lol

They'd probably make the assumption that he too is gay and he'd get the condemnation speech.. I also don't believe that "Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife's shoes" made it to the top ten commandments.. lol

    Charlie

Some assumptions would be made due to other subject matter amongst the different family housholds within the group, but out of all the households, there are only two who have been married 25 years, and only one with no big marital problems - - mine.
  2. What about boots with wedge heels ?

Nobody will notice since they are very quiet while walking.

And you will still have the satisfaction of wearing heels.

An option I am looking into. Haven't found that "" right pair "" yet

What's interesting is that for years, a guy could buy and wear a 'mens cowboy boot' and nobody thought a thing about it. Once you cross the shopping aisle, it's now not proper.

Once again, I got to hear this weekend about how morally degenerate our 'youth' are and how standards for proper dress attire are to lax, and to shabby. This from a few family members who I would consider Militant Evangelicals.

If I really wanted to start a major family brew-ha, all I would have to do is show up in my pair of round toe Guess platform pumps for Thanksgiving. In the past I've been kind of like the moderate in the middle between the Militant Evangelicals and "those morally degenerates who are going to hell" - - - One of the family members is gay, and is reminded of his future fate all the time.

  4. First off, any manager worth their salary already understands the current economic standings of a vast majority of post college workplace entries. They have nothing but mountains of debt, and those that are somewhat fiscally responsible don't have new clothes. Decent heavily used attire is expected. In your case, as long as you present yourself as a clean, honest, applicant who just so happens to have an interest and knowledge of the business, and current fashion trends, then you have a better chance than the average. Somewhat conservative yet classic designs will always win out, even if not the hottest trend. If she knows you shop there, and knows you wear heels, and still gives you a call back, she's already decided what she will or wont allow during working hours, and that your off time is irrellevant. Man - - what a great time to wear what you want to work (hopefully) enjoy it fully, and help promote the cause in a responsible manner.

  5. The only advice I can give is the same as every one else, if she doesnt like them, no way will you change her mind, even if you do she will end up resenting you for it. First hand experience talking.

    Best of luck anyway.

I'd agree with this as well as most of the other similar comments.
  6. Garbage... EVERYBODY "thinks" that until they try it.. You just need to be chilled and appropriate with it.

Maybe so, but I sure as hec wouldn't try it at my work place. Hec, I'm not likely to even try it in this small town. It would be like slapping an instant "Gay" sign on my back, and everyone else would be trying to save my wife from "The horror". There is a Gay mens campground outside of town, and you should hear the 'weekend fun' the locals would like to do, but don't because it would put them in jail.

If your office is conservative, then you wear something conservative (Not 6" pink stilettos), start with a 2" biker boot or ankle boot with big chunky heels for a few months and go from there..

Don't know where your shopping at, but Harley's are all the rage, and I have never seen anyone on a Harley with a 2" heels. I've been shopping for a boot like that, and frankly, I don't think they exist anymore.

I did it for years, riding to work on a scooter in 4.5" boots with a .5" platform, for the whole world to see, spending all day at work in them then the 30 min ride home, and nobody batted an eyelid..

I didnt wear long or flared jeans to hide them either, and often travelled around london on my moped with work...

The boots themselves were simply thick, chunky rubber heels/soles, leather uppers with hardly any detail on them... Pretty dull actually, but perfect to just not worry about it..

Made riding the scooter so much easier too not being on tip-toes at every traffic light.

I can get away with a Frye or Justin boot with a 2" to 2.5" underslung heel. Been doing that for 25 plus years - - Problem is, I can't find them any more.

  7. First off, I'm kinda cheap, so I first shop the sales locally. Also thrift shops, and surprisingly, garage sales. I've had fantastic luck finding some wonderful heels mid summer at these. A couple of the better buys were purchased for weddings, only to be never worn again. Also found a sale where the girl decided after a very short stint that 'dancing' wasn't her best employment option - four pairs like new, in the box for about $15.00 - Ellie's and Pleaser's. The pair in my avatar were a close-out at $9.99. Late winter, the boots go on sale. Also DSW clearance rack, Kohls has had some great deals, and recently, I almost bought a pair of Iron Fist sling back platform pumps on clearance from Hot Topic, but I really couldn't see me wearing them out and about, so I backed off.

  8. Don't believe it was a fetish thing - - I have always appreciated a beautiful woman in high heels. It just makes them look better. Over the years, I had purchased many items for my wife, but she rarely ever wore them. She never wears heels anymore (and for good reasons I might add). I made some comments about her never wearing certain items, and she came back with the comment; "If you like them so much, you wear them" So one night I surprised her. The kids have never seen me in heels, and she would prefer they don't. She has yet to see all the different styles I have collected, but every now and then, when we are alone, I'll wear something new. All the stockings, thigh highs, thongs and panties I bought her - - they are mine now, except for the bra's and such. No need for them. She is used to seeing me in Victoria's Secret undies. When nobody is home, I'm in heels. If I go away somewhere, I'll put on boots, but someday I'll start wearing some other heels out. It was a rather late awakening, and she has joked about regretting the comment, but she seems OK with it all for the most part.

  9. I've ventured out in my high heeled boots every once in awhile. Spent a couple days in philly area, and I,m sure the ladies at the hotel reception desk noticed me out in my boots. They were friendly, but made no mention, although when I was just outside the door, I spotted then conversing with another lady, and it was evident that my boots were the topic of discussion. had a few minutes yesterday, so I went shopping in the same boots. Sales clerks didn't seem to notice at the Shoe Dept store, but the place was also kinda busy. Girl at the gas station never noticed either, nor the customers. Having long pants on makes them less visible, but the sound is obvious. These are the steepest boots I've been out in, and it went very well.

  10. All of the venues are viable - - just not in my home location. If I'm out of town, or far enough away that local acquaintances are not likely to see me, I have had no problems wearing high heeled boots all day doing just about anything. I have yet to wear a high heeled pump style out and about yet, but I'm planning on it soon.

  11. Was in a local boutique , and was talking with the associate I have seen before. She say's they sell quite a few of these gun heels, but she did mention that it's a fairly narrow segment of the population that finds these hot.

  12. Who digs these heels?

I've seen them at the local boutiques, and they might look good on the right person - - I'm not the right person at this point.

Now if I were to attend a NRA event, (and I am a member) and felt I could get away with wearing a pair of these, then yes, I would.

  13. Yes - - but I am not inclined to 'friend' anyone from this wonderful group on Facebook. That would be suicidal from the standpoint of being a local involved with certain aspects of the community. Detrimental to family and friends. Personally - - I'm not really fond of Facebook

  14. What is so massively shocking about that article - is the number of people posting 'gay' comments - and MEANING it.

It is ignorance at its' highest level.....and the frightening thing, is that it is silently infecting society more and more. Far from becoming more enlightened as we get older - it seems that the human race is actually filling itself up with hatred and bigotry.

What's scary for me is that the comments made pretty much reflect the general attitude of the community where I live. Tolerance of anything outside of their norms is directly related to the punishment received in a court of law if they act on their feelings.
