Any employer in the western world at least, that would fire you for your choice of footwear, would be opening themselves up to potential problems and embarrassment. At the most, someone that had authority in the situation might politely ask you to follow another dress code. Be brave and be the change you want to see.

In theory, your correct - - - Reality says your chancing loosing your job. They won't claim "A guy wearing heels" but there are plenty of other excuses that are damned hard to defend yourself against. Been there - done that.

  2. I have noticed that a majority of the men who do wear heels, really do not have much facial hair.

That's a problem with me. I have had a full beard since '81 and it's not going to change unless doctors orders. It gets trimmed back in the warmer months. You would have to ask @Thighbootguy what his thoughts are with me in heels and a full beard (and a bit of spare tire too boot)

Hehehe, well, it's 5.5" with about a 1" platform, but the base is wide enough it should be stable on anything except pure ice. I figure they will go well with ski/snow pants and be pretty hidden. Already have a friend wanting me to visit MN in winter, so I expect they will get a bit of use there.

If your heading North, you might need them, but being your in the deep south - - - If it gets that bad, there will be no place to go in them. We all know what a 1/4" will do down there.

  4. I've seen some lady lawyers recently, and none were wearing heels. Most dressed almost frumpy, with no style. Kinda bland, so I'm thinking they don't want to dress to impress (then again, I live in the sticks where fashion is forgotten.)

  5. I have had some real issues with work boots. I have one pair of steel toe / metatarsals that just make my day miserable. At any given time, my feet will feel like they are on fire. It's like someone was using a blow torch on the bottom of your feet. I have also found that some of those "cushy' soles actually make it worse. I'm lucky in that I only have to wear them a few days at a time, but 12 to 16 hours standing on fire make a day pretty crappy.

Can't you just wear an NRA cap and keep would-be muggers guessing?

That would indicate that you're either an out-of-towner, or that you may have a piece, and more likely to get mugged by folks who carry illegally.

I have found that you can pretty much walk through any inner-city neighborhood if you look and act like you belong there.
