  1. Tanzer22,

All went well and you had fun!!  Now you have to get back out there and get more comfortable. You will see that it gets easier. Just have to get over the first step out of the house/car as JeffB says.  It's a great feeling and you will get more compliments than anything, at least I do!!

  2. SleekHeels,

No real apparent reactions but I did see quite a few of the store associates smiling in a good way.  Don't know if it had anything to do with my appearance but it did make me feel good about what I was wearing.  Just looked like approval.

    Steve,

I was smiling on the inside, really, it just didn't show. :(   Sorry, I'll try to do better but with my crappy short timer on my camera I am always rushed.

You have to know I am happy when I wear my heels!  :)

  3. Yes JeffB does pull it off with ease but don't think at work. Just out and about around Philly.  Not knowing where or what you do at work you are the only one that would know if this can be done without jeopardizing your job. Have to keep that in place to afford new clothing/shoes.

I wouldn't mind a full shot of that skirt but I know how hard it is to photo yourself while holding the camera/phone.

Getting your boots repaired shouldn't be an issue as long as you can find a good shoe repair shop.  They seem to be disappearing. This summer I had a pair of zippers replaced in my ankle harness boots for a really decent price once I found a local cobbler.  Good luck!

  4. jetheelsfan, no need to stop shopping!!  You will get this same SA help anytime during the year at Payless or most all stores. You don't need Halloween as an excuse. Just go in and tell the SA what you are looking for and need help.  I have had all that experience anytime shopping for myself at any time during the year.  I find the SA to be excited to help a guy get fit for heels and they always point out styles that they think would look good on me.

I have gotten friendly with the manager at my local Payless and she goes out of her way to help. Says to call her on Wednesdays as the new shipments arrive Tuesdays and she will tell me what is new in my size to save me a trip over.  I love the attention!!  :)

  5. Glad you had a great evening without any concerns.  Yes, the demons are in our heads!!  Nobody said anything although a good comment would have made the evening.  I found this out almost a year ago traveling through the Atlanta airport in red Brash Kosmic pumps.  No trouble from anyone and some great comments from women while waiting for my flight.  I expect to do this again early next year.

Keep it up now Dave as the initial wearing is over.  Shafted is so right!

  6. Steve is so right!  Dark areas are not a good idea at all!   You will find that wearing heels in public isn't as big of a concern as you think. It's mostly in your head and most folks won't notice. As Steve says you may even get some compliments which really feels good!! A few giggles don't hurt and there won't be many. After a short time you will wonder why you didn't do this sooner.

Go for it at the mall or busy area and see for yourself. Been there and done that!  You'll be glad you did!
