It only means one of 3 things: 1 She feels bad about rejecting you and wants to make it up to you/be friends. If so yay new friend. 2 She really does want to get together with you. If so yay, work it. 3 She's trying to set you up with someone. If so yay, work it with that someone. Just play it like she's a friend and text her a little and feel out which of the three it is and act appropriately. Keep it all short/concise and suggest meeting her there the next time it happens since you couldn't make it this time. The reply should let you know the rest. Don't overthink it.

Lady GaGa is waay more talented than Madonna. She is classically trained, having learned to play the piano from the age of 4, and was performing her own songs in New York live clubs by the age of 14.
At 17, she was admitted to New York University's Tisch School of The Arts, studying Music and Drama and by the age of 19 she had her first recording contract.
She also writes 99% of her material, which 'Madge' does not do.
No argument there, just had to back her up as a new "high heel icon". She's always wearing them, and those odd ones from that Japanese designer whose name escapes me. I just put her in the same general category as Madonna only because she does more than just sing. Not due to talent.

My cat is very loving. But when he sees me wearing high heels, he avoids me and he stares at my shoes. I hve never stepped on him or tripped over him while wearing high heels. He won't even come to eat until I take them off.

Probably views them as claws and you being mad at him.

Somebody recently posted that they just bought a new pair of Jessica Simpson boots - - - I think I'd go for those over this design even if they were the same monies.
Might have been me, just bought the black version of the Okleann boots of hers now too, they arrive Monday, spendy at $130 but they were on sale so its some comfort to me I guess. One thing not noted is they have lining inside that feels awesome, they became my favorite pair of shoes in about an hour. Have a feeling I'll be buying more of her boots in the future at this rate. Plan on going to macy's tomorrow and trying out some of her other shoes for fun and see if they have some boots in store yet. Might be fun who knows, won't know until I torment the salesguy there again or talk with the saleswomen.
As for the Rick Owens, would have to see them in person, just look like they have too thick of a platform. Considering I could buy about 6 pairs of $200ish boots versus 1 of these, I think I'll stick with my current strategy.

The "Everything" Bootie, made me laugh, I hope to god this is an inside joke.
Hopefully someone else gets a chuckle.

To be honest I'm sticking by my gaga suggestion. Here's why:
http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/story/lady-gaga-flatly-refuses-low-shoes_1134081
"I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels. I'd never give up my wigs and hats for anything."
and:
Although she is flattered her fans choose to dress like her, Gaga has urged her followers to find their own sense of style and celebrate their individuality.
She said: "Be whatever you want to be, it's not about emulating me... it's all right to be different."
Think what you will about her music and her public persona, but you have to admit, those sentiments would seem to be in line with this particular forum's ideology. Also, she's managed to pull off what few singers can, built an image for herself and sticking to it. Madonna v2.0, this time with more wigs.
I'm not a big gaga fan but just had to back her up here. -

Leaving stickers on clothes? Do you leave those stickers on pants?
http://icanhascheezburger.com/2008/04/23/funny-pictures-ther-appeers-2-b/
Thats how ridiculous it looks in my opinion, as funny as it is to annoy cats with stickers, it just doesn't belong. Once you decide to wear it out and not return it, take the stickers and tags off.

Just got my Jessica Simpson boots:
And a pair of Seychelles Bismuth suede shoes which are 100% awesome.
Enjoying both, the Seychelles shoes are so awesome and both fit like gloves.

Is there a zipper somewhere I can't see? Or is this one of those half hour affairs per boot?

Scotty messed up!

The heelpopping sound makes me think of flip-flops, which is not appealing to me in the least.
I have to concur, flip-flops and that sound are one of my pet peeves, properly fitting shoes are essential. Might have been from that study I read, but improperly sized shoes seem to be a common thing. I guess if you like the sound/feel/whatever go for it to each their own.

I like the look of that 9 West shoe/boot. Nice heel and the lace will keep anything from moving as you wear them (which is one of the reasons I like boots). Should go great with slacks.
Ian's Showlace Site is an excellent example of why I adhere the K.I.S.S methodologies (Keep It Simple Stupid). I never knew there were so many ways to make such a simple task difficult (stylish but difficult).
Heh, understandable, to be truthful though, I only use about 4 different lacing systems. I discovered the site back when I was learning to tie my shoelaces for boots in a way that they would stay on more reliably. While the KISS principle is fine in general, at times you need a bigger weapon in your arsenal. In some ways shoelace tying is an art unto itself. I view it the same way as knots. You can't use a bowline knot for everything, or a figure 8 etc... each knot has a purpose and pros/cons. But in general you only need to know a few unless you are into search and rescue in which case you'll know more about knots than most people.
I guess i'm just a sucker for keeping the outside of my dress shoes tidy. Hence why I love the roman method of lacing. To each his own. Like he says, there may be over a trillion possible ways of lacing mathwise, realistically there isn't that many that are actually practical.
In short: If you can think of something that could be taken to an extreme, there is a group of people on the internet that have taken it farther than you would ever have imagined. Be it rubiks cube solving robots, groups of people making their own submarine and using it to tug the largest experimental hobbyist rocket out to sea for a launch by denmark, or shoe lace tying, its out there. But I digress.

It all depends on the manufacturer. I have tried some which are fine and some which are way too tight. I'd say to be on the safe side that they run true to size or even a little small.
But from even my limited forays in some stores (cough steve madden), it can vary from, holy shit thats narrow, to, can you give me a size smaller, this is huge. Caveat emptor and all that.

What do you guys think about these?
I'm not huge on stilettoish heels, but I love lace up shoes laced like so:

Also, the shark, you're braver than I am/was at the start. I still don't think I could pull off pumps but if they work for you go for it.

Missouri, USA.
Properly spelled misery! Summers are hot and humid enough that one can get 8 glasses of water by breathing!
A shirt, just for your state:

I'm in Minnesota, the twin cities to be more precise. Not sure how useful where I live is to be honest. O.o

OOh, you reminded me of this study:
Relating to heel height and the efficiency of the gait in relation to energy expenditure. Really interesting. They compared with a couple of existing inserts and noted that high heels were rated as easier to wear and that seemed to correspond to a decrease in energy use in the gait.
Something to read, could just be one of those studies done by the companies that have insoles in the study. In either case interesting enough.
You'll have to run the 10 miles again without the inserts and tell us the difference in comfort. I'm kidding! >.<

I have to admit, after getting used to wearing heels out in public with jeans over the top, I don't even really notice that I have them on. They're just shoes to me now after ~1month. And outside of the noise and difference in gait, not many people seem to notice or say anything really. I suppose I'm bucking the trend and not accepting "societal roles" or whatever like Ami said, but I just see it more as accepting that I like to wear high heels because they are just plain fun to wear to me and don't hurt anyone else. Since part of my life philosophy is to accept who I am, I wouldn't be able to really ask anyone else to accept this part of me if I didn't. I'm not trying to dress like a girl or anything, just wearing high heels as shoes. Ok so I'll admit, i've bought more pants that have a longer inseam so that I can cover up the heel easily but that is more my preference at trying to minimize what people see. I used to wonder why women wore jeans like that over heels, I think I understand completely now. But I guess I'll just throw out, who cares if women like that you wear high heels or not? Don't dress for other people, dress for what makes you comfortable and happy. Screw everyone else, if they don't like it thats their problem. Caveats apply if married, etc... insert standard disclaimer etc...usw... Its late and I'm now squirrel bantering/rambling, later!

Wow those shoes kinda look like they were hit with the ugly stick. Just my $0.02. They look like a mutant croc (not the reptile, the shoe). Put me down for two in the no column, i'd rather wear those aussie ugg boots before i'd put those on my feet. Also, since they aren't popular where I live thankfully, does anyone wear ugg boots? If so can I ask whats appealing about them? They kinda look like they would fit for winter weather walking outside, but I could never really justify wearing them indoors. Just seems wrong.

I went into a payless the other day and have to agree with you roninheels. I personally didn't see anything worth even putting on my feet.
Though I was amused at the size 12's being right beside the guy shoes and in the same aisle. Hardly a subtle hint about the intent there. >.<
I'm new to this whole deal and was wondering if its certain payless shoe stores that just stock less high heels or what? Mind you this was the payless in the mall of america, I could try one of the smaller malls and compare. But in general if its not there, its not likely anywhere close by. I know I've read lots of threads where people said they were an awesome place to shop.
Anyone ever gotten shoes/boots from shï perchance?
I'm a huge fan of the fact you can find stock off their website at local stores. Wish dsw and other stores would do the same.

I think these are awesome. The price, not so much.

http://www.medianet.pl/~andrew/shoes/comfy_heels.htm#shoe_angle
The author proposes measuring the angle from horizontal to the downward slope of the upper foot to have a measure of your ability to wear heels.
Yes a 5" heel is a 5" heel no matter the shoe size, but the shoe size will determine who is riding the limits of nature and who is not. Basically, a size 6 wearing a 5" heel is much more impressive than a size 11, but if they both can extend their feet to the same angle, they are basically at the same ability to walk in high heels.
Just my $0.02, the angle is more telling than the heel size in my opinion.

Actually, wouldn't it be a good idea to find out when your bones stop being less pliable and use that as the age that you are ok to wear things that could literally mold your bones? I know our ribs stay somewhat pliable until the late 20's, wonder what a podiatrist or doctor would say about bone development. I think waiting until your bones are somewhat set would be a better idea than to jump into something for vanity's sake. As such I'd say I'm happy with starting this after my body has fully matured. I could only imagine the horrific things that could happen to your foot if you started too early.

Well after almost 2 months someone noticed I was wearing high heel boots

Heh, just thought i'd share, was a barista at a local coffee shop 6 blocks down, just got a pair of http://www.endless.com/dp/B002WC8XCG/ref=asc_df_B002WC8XCG1231239 and was breaking them in while getting a panini. She saw me come in and when I ordered she literally had the look that a guy would when he sees a hot girl in heels that he wants.
But apparently its "so awesome you can wear those so easily, they look great on you". She was even doing the lip biting move/licking lips deal. O.o
So I guess I can't obviously know how she'd have reacted without the boots, but I'm just happy someone FINALLY noticed. Good or bad. Just a little surprised at the response though. Eh, whatever, time to go bouldering.
