Welcome, Quiet Mouse. Your husband is fortunate to have a supporting wife like you. Not all of us heel lovers are as fortunate. You will make his transition to a public heeler much easier. Best of luck to both of you.

Great looking boots. I had several pairs similar to them in the 70's and they were guy's boots too. Plus they didn't cost over a grand! Sad that they aren't sold as men's boots today because they are no different than what we wore before.

Great cartoon!

For whatever reasons I'm glad that we do, otherwise, the world would be as drab as the men's shoe styles that we avoid wearing!

Welcome to the forum from another Pennsylvanian.

Not to worry, MEME9, you definitely are not alone here. Many of us have had questions about our shoe "thing". Finding this site really helped me to the point where I have become far more daring in my shoe choices for public wear, including work. About it being a sickness, if it is then many here are afflicted including myself and believe me, I don't want a cure! To quote an old Humble Pie song, "I don't need no doctor!" Welcome...

Nice slides!!!!!

Love the mj's, that would be my choice.

I definitely like Aerosoles. I've had a pair of their shoes for several years and last summer I bought a pair of wedge slides called "Slam Chunk." They are comfortable and cool looking.

Nerol69, Love the red espadrilles....

Welcome, inuse, from another Pennsylvanian. Glad you joined the forum.

Radiodave I love the Madden Quesst sandals. Nice wedge!!

Congratulations, you are fortunate to have a wife like her! Love the slides in your avatar too...

Judging from her reply it sounds like she may accept your desire to wear heels even without the bet. Good luck!

Great story with good resuls. That took some brass!

Welcome to Pennsylvania, Bootking! The outlet mall near Mercer is about 40 miles from where I live in PA. It's about a 40 minute trip south on I-79 from my home. I've bought several pair of shoes there over the years. Glad you enjoyed yourself here.

I've done many reviews on women's shoes that I buy with my real name, "Gary", and Zappos always posts them. I wonder why they aren't posting yours. I wouldn't think that it should make a difference, after all, our money is just as good.

Check out my avatar. I got them from Remix..

Bet those getas came with a safety disclaimer!

The colors are a bit much for me too, but to each his or her own. Does anyone know what the article was about or why they were posing in heels?

Considering their ages they probably have figured it out already. Kids are more aware about things than we think sometimes. My daughter has grown up seeing me in various styles of women's shoes and said nothing. The only comment she ever made was last summer (at 26 years old) when we were visiting her in Washington DC. I was wearing a nice pair of Born clogs and upon seeing them she said a bit snidely, "Will you be able to walk in those?" To which I replied, "Of course!!" She was taking us sightseeing and didn't want me screwing up her agenda. That was the only comment she ever made about my footwear and I never explained my choices to her nor has it ever appeared to cause her any problems. Everything has worked out fine.

True, this community is an incredibly small representation of individuals from around the world, but let's not minimize what good it has done. The board founders started the forum as a place for like-minded heel lovers to exchange opinions and ideas. It has become a home for many of us (including myself) where we can gain some self assurance and confidence in an area that would be quite difficult or even impossible for some to pursue our likes, or fetish, or whatever one may want to call our preference for "female" footwear. I, for one, am extremely grateful to the founders and members of our forum regardless of how large or small our group may be! Long live hhplace!!!

Definitely a tough choice, but I would have to go with the slides in the last series of pics. I just have a thing for a hot pair of slides!

doc41 I remember when Kork-Ease sandals were only $35. My originals bit the dust a few years ago, they were comfortable sandals.

I remember seeing an advertisement in Rolling Stone in 1973 for Kork-Ease sandals. They were $25 a pair. I would have bought a pair then but they might as well have been $2500 because I couldn't even afford the lousy 25 bucks! That is why I bought the knock-off brands. Thankfully things are somewhat better today!

It appears that some male associated with the cartoon's author has an interest in wearing heels too!
