Did you shop in heels ?
-
Those are great stories, Anita. Keep them coming

I have seen this type around a lot more recently. A few weeks ago a women was trying them on while I was in a store. She looked gorgeous in them.

Great story, pdrk. Yes, being out of town does make us all a bit bolder. I never travel without at least one pair of boots. I have been known to take an extra suitcase for my shoes when I travel.

Hey, I have been one of those guys that had to take off my HH boots. I don't do it often and never at my "home airport", but I have done it for late flights out of other airports. When you take of your long boots and put them on that belt for the screening machine, there is not hiding what they are ! I had a few screeners stare at them, but they were too professional to say anything. I think that actually yhe new security rules have discouraged HH wear at the airport. A lot of people now wear sneakers because they will not set of the alarm.

In group, people are always meaner. It is an animal thing.

"cjveritas", Is that a wordplay ? Did you study Latin in school ? I remember that is still custom in Belgium. Good luck with your parents. Maybe you can buy something really conservative from the women's side ? It may not please you, but it may show that you can wear women's shoes in style and without people staring at you. I know Belgium a little bit as I have friends there and visit a lot. Compared to the US (where I live now) people in Belgium still care a lot about what "the neighbors" think. That can be annoying, but there are some advantages to that more close nit society. Your time for wearing HH will come. I admit, I also don't do it among my friends in Belgium when I visit them. Good luck

The high boots are a little like the Cheetah they sell
at Baker. I have this pair and love them. Have worn them
outside plenty of times.

Actually InternationalMale has been around for a while. They target the trendy male. My wife, calls it the "Vegas" guy. So I wouldn't see them as a new trend. However, it does show that you can get away easily with 2" heels.

Awesome. My favorites are the last pair: the silver one. They seem to be an interesting combination pump/slingback/sandal. Keep it coming.

Amen to that. Very well said

I only wish I had the courage to try on women's heels in the stores, so I could take my girlfriend with me and have her help me pick them out. I just wish that it turned HER on as much as it does me.
I hear you. My wife knows about my heels and tolerates them, but takes no interest. She is actually slightly worried about the space they start to take up in the house. It would be so much fun if I could convince her to go shopping with me for shoes, but I don't think that will ever be. I guess we can't have everything. We have many other good things in our relationship, and at least she is tolerant of my heel wearing 9and also believes everyone else should be tolerant of it). She wants me to educate my 8y-old daughter in the matter, but I haven't had the courage yet.

With those boots you shouldn't have a problem at all. They look like they could just as well be a funky mens style. Great choice of your wife

When you wear heels like on the sabrinas there is always some amount of attention you will attract. Think about it, if a women would wear those, you would be looking to. It is definitely a help when you are comfortable walking in them. Nothing attracts attention like a guy stumbling in heels. Once, I walked out of a store with a new pair of thin heels on, as I often do, and I have walked only a few stores down in the mall when I slipped on the stone floor and fell on my behind. Believe, that is the way to draw attention to those shoes. New shoes can be slippery to. I have worn heels like the sabrinas on shopping trips but wear pants that cover part of the heel. I find that makes me most comfortable. The heel shows completely when walking, but when standing still only the bottom shows. So when someone is paying undue attention in a store, I can always stop and browse and leave less of the heel exposed. Somehow, I feel that leaves the person staring with a bit of an enigma. Sometime you can see on their face that they are puzzled, like "Did I see that correctly " This helps me. But you should find out what makes you comfortable. i am stil convinced tha attitude is the big factor. When you walk with confidence people tend to find that "all is normall". it is when you look around you and act scared or odd, that people wonder what is up. I have found the heel wearing to be a good exercise in building confidence, and making me believe more in my own ideas, even when they are not mainstream (I am not talking about tong piercing here). Since I do science and engineering, delivering unconventional ideas has helped me tremendously in my career. So, in short, wearing heels isn't all that bad for you ! Sorry for the long post.

It really is no big deal. Swimmers and cyclists all do it. My guess is that it is one of these things that people just get used to see you with. Some guys have hair on their chest, some don't. If you think people are going to laugh when they see shaved leggs, what do you think they will do when they see hair on your feet and lower legs when wearing open sandals

Those Sabrina's do look great. Steve Madden sells something similar in the US, but I have never been able to get it in a size that fits.
-
Great boots to go out with exitman. Why did you give them to your GF ?
-
I am with terayon here. I LOVE Mary Janes. Some of the more recent styles (Steve Madden etc) have been rather clunky, but your wife's are great. Thanks for the picture.

Welcome. Very nice boots. You should be able to get away with these boots anytime. I bet the women that gave you looks, wasn't even looking at the boots. Even in my most conservative work environment (where I wouldn't even dare to consider serious heels) I have worn 2" heels like this and noone has ever blinked.

Hi Jabe, Where in Belgium did you buy the shoes ? I travel to Belgium once in a while. Wouldn't mind buying stuff there. Though with the dollar/Euro ratio it is expensive for us in Europe these days.
-
Yes, they are stunning. So much money thought. I am sure they are worth it, but still a painful experience for the pocketbook.
-
Got almost the same pair from Candies (now defunct) in the US, but mine have a side zipper. So I only need to lace up the top few hooks. Love them
-
Wouldn't it be something if we just all started wearing the styles we liked in public ...
-
Because of this, in the last few years, I've veered from being a bit embarrassed about approaching shoe salesgirls to now really loving the experience every time!
Yes, isn't it great !

Stilettofan is right. It is much easier to walk around a mall or busy street in heels than be in a confined space with other people. In a mall you can always walk away. Build up your confidence and attitude in busy settings before confronting coworkers or friends.
Here is a nice pair of heels (aboput 2 1/4) that I just bought a couple of days ago in Washington DC. They are not high but great for every day wear. They are the kind of shoes that the occasional person may have a good look at, but noone really makes a double-take when they see them.
