  1. I had an interesting experience when trying on shoes at a closing down sale a week ago. I stumbled upon the sale when I was passing by so I went in looking for some running shoes. I was wearing a knee length grey pencil skirt and the heels in the pic attached. The shop was very small and packed full of people trying shoes either with or without the help of the sales people. I had a saleswoman get me two styles of trainers in my size and I sat down at one of the fitting seats and slipped my pumps off, and left them there on the floor while I tried out the trainers. Everyone was squeezed in side by side trying out shoes.

While walking to and fro I saw a girl (20-ish most likely) who had been trying out heaps of styles professionally flick her foot into one of my pumps as she was standing there. She stood up on it and back down and up on it again and rocked it around. Naturally it was a bit too large and she picked it up along with its partner. At this stage I had to interrupt in fear of loosing the shoes etc...by which time she had noticed the wear on the soles and the tip toes petals.

She said she just wanted to try them on and said she didn't believe they were mine since guys don't wear heels (she was playing I think). I pointed out to here that I already had a skirt on and foot jewellery so it would logically follow that they could be mine. She had a laugh and said they felt good on.

The sales person asked if the trainers fitted ok, I told her that I would take them. She then grabbed the shoe box and the other girl handed my pumps to the saleswoman who said she would go and pack them up and start the sale process. Hang on I had to say, I am not walking out of here with trainers on, please give me my high heels back and give me a second to take these trainers off. So I swapped over and put the heels back on my feet.

Quite a few people had gathered during the course of my shopping and were watching, and I had an audience as I left the shop. I noticed a lot of people who had hung around etc... The shop was on the main street and I had to walk 2 blocks down this street for a start. There was nothing to do other than rise to the challenge and walk away (hopefully not break a heel in a crack in the pavement). Halfway down the road I met up with the same girl who said hi again and told me that I walked really well in the shoes and she didn't know how i did it.

It is actually quite hard to carry stuff in one hand only and walk in heels with even stride etc..and nobody had anything negative/ narrow minded to say!!

    Overall an exhilarating experience!

Eh? and you didnt ask for her number? I think you missed out there!

  2. I haven't been wearing heels much for the past six months. I'm having quite a bit of pain in my left ankle, so have seen an osteopath and a podiatrist. I've now got a pair of expensive insoles which have given me quite a bit of relief. This week I've worn heels for the first time for ages, today the osteo asked me "have you been wearing different shoes?" no I lied! "Been walking down hill a lot" he continued - "not especially" I replied.

Ok - this guy knows his stuff. I'm falling apart, I think it's time for me to retire from heels.

I think you have been rumbled fog. these folk know what goes on you know.

might be worth laying off the heels until you get better.

  3. Mine has just turned 4 and I am still unsure what way to do this, for now I am not going for the outlandish heels, more the street heels. its difficult. I dont know quite how to handle it and any advice is difficult to take and use unless the person giving it knows quite a bit about the child and how the family works. My little girl is the first into my wifes 7 inch platforms and we keep on finding them in her room, like she is trying to keep them for herself, so the signs are good, but you only get one chance at this, and I dont want to get things wrong. it is a tough call.

  4. Welcome along, its great to have guys like you here, now, lets have a look at some of those heels you must have knocking around. everybody here will encourage you to start wearing your heels to work, there are a few here that do quite it often, just take your time and do it at your own pace though. Best wishes and look forward to hearing how your office manager found out.

  5. I thought Bellissimo was a brand name of payless shoes, I'm guessing the boots are plastic right?

yeh, they are not leather, I thought that too, but wanted confirmation.

I am sure they are not from those other higher end shops.

    thanks for confirming my thoughts.

    Nigel

  6. Hi all, this might be one for the members here in Blighty. Just stumbled accross a pair of boots by Bellisimo in a charity shop, they are a size 9 and fit me great, they must be nearly a 10. so with this in mind, who sells that brand new? I am hoping that all their size 9's are that big. If they are, then Happy days! thanks for your help in advance. Nigel

  7. Ah well, those of you that have been here before know where I was coming from. As for choice of shoe? why ask us, everybody here likes something different and there is not much to choose in the shoes below. if one was a wedge, one was a platform and one was a kitten heel, then maybe some debate? Yeh, sure, we all like heels here, but none of us want to hear an nother 'pushed her too hard story' now do you get it?

  8. A way to a mans heart is through his belly. if you are trying to move your relationship foreward, ask yourself if yoe are doing this for both of you or just you. i never push too hard. its not worth the loss. Have you told her what 'floats yer boat'? she might go along if she gets more attention from you, I dunno, I am not an expert, but be careful. in other words...... dont ask us, ask her, if you cant, then dont. Please, dont be another 'be careful with the wife' member. best wishes, Nigel

  9. My post is for the benifit of the site, its good name and for the hundreds of visitors who come here to learn and view the site. The site looks untidy and uncared for if threads are in tatters and messy. If anybody knew how much time was taken keeping links working, rehosting images and helping out members, (not only by me but by all the website team) you might understand. I get more than a little anoyed when a member decides to mess up a thread for no real reason at all. You either want your picture on the internet or you dont, simple. I stand by my post. Nigel.

  10. it was a painting I do not like anymore so I deleted it.

It is a shame when the thread starter removes the topic for discussion. hey everybody, can we remember that the threads here stay forever. please dont bother posting anything if you might want it removed in the future. Removing it yourself just leaves the thread tatty and useless.

    Thanks, Nigel (admin mode)
