  1. Your car will need gas lots of times in the future which will give you ample occassions to street-heel at the service station. Dawn HH :D

You were right Dawn. Tonight I again stopped for gas wearing my pumps and this time I was in a much better mood and felt like wearing them for me. It was great and even though there weren't alot of people around, I did walk around and even checked the air in my tires while the tank was feeling. The gas pump I stopped at faced the road so it was cool walking in them while the cars went by as well. This time I also took my time and savored walking back to my car after filling up.

  2. Hoverfly, Great boots! Are they really 5 inches? I would love a pair exactly like that and I am an 11. How long did you get them from Steve Madden? The last time I checked they only had up to 3.5 inches and I just bought a pair of 4 inch on Ebay. I've been looking for a pair exactly like you have! Great pics too BTW! Scotty

  3. Hi Bubba, When I am not at work, I agree and wear higher heels on the weekends/evenings. At work though (I am at a new customer where I have alot less privacy) I am not comfortable wearing anything other than 2" Clark shoes. I am working on the heel lifts for that. I wore them this weekend because the highest heels I currently have are only 3" (I just bought boots with 4", but they have a platform so they aren't that high either). 3" to me now feels like nothing so I was trying to raise them higher. The good side is they raised them higher without the discomfort. The bad side is I ended up raising them 4 1/2 inches and hurt my arches since I am not used to mall-heeling in that high a heel. Next time I will just wear the 4" boots until I am able to find a higher block heel shoe. Scotty

  4. I originally posted this in the "Help on Boots" thread, but it kinda changed to a new user (which is ok!). I didn't want to detrail the new direction of the thread so I figured I would repost my comments here.

    Hi Dawn/Bubba,

Thanks for the advice and support.

I actually didn't wear the boots today. They are actually 4 inch heels, my existing pair are 3 inch heels, but both boots have a platform toe, so I think they are more like 3 inch in actual feeling.

I also have a pair of 3 inch heel shoes I got that don't have a platform toe. With the lifts I put in them, they raise to 4 1/2 inch, so I opted to wear them instead. I am not sure if it is normal, but the balls of my feet are killing me after walking the mall all day, but I did wear them and never got tempted to remove the lifts. I figured the more I wear them the more I will get use to them.

I also went shopping and found some wood I plan on using on better lifts. Once I perfect them I will post a picture of them in the modification section.

Also, my wife agreed to let me get a pair of shoes like the ones pictured below. We looked in the various stores, but we couldn't find anything similar. I can order them from the web, but would like a higher heel (the ones pictured are 3 inch heels) and lower platform, but same style. Anyone know where I could get them?

    Thanks,

    Scotty

  6. Thanks Firefox. In my personal life, I have no problem looking for and wearing higher heels. I plan on shopping for a 4 to 5 inch heel tomorrow. For work since I now work in a more visable setting, I don't feel comfortable wearing more than a 2 inch heel. Maybe once I am there a while I will relax more and it won't matter, but in the meantime I am going to experiment with the hidden heels. I am thinking of going to a hobby store and getting a round wooden disk, and cut it sideways to produce two round "wedges. I think that with a Dr Schools heel on top might do the trick. Scotty

  7. Hey Bubba, My point wasn't that you all pressured me, I pressured myself because of some non-existent "obligation" I placed on myself. I was just letting other new heel-wearing members know NOT to do what I did, it tarnishes the experience. BTW, my new boots came in! I might wear them to the mall tomorrow! Scotty

  8. Thanks Dawn. Sorry for the "negative" response yesterday. What happened is that first off, I wasn't feeling well and had things on my mind as well. I wasn't in the particularily "push the envelope" mode of heel wearing yesterday. I ended up doing it because I felt "obligated" to come here and report that I did it again in heels. The results were less than perfect. The problem was, since I wasn't in the mood, I shouldn't have pushed myself to do it. All of us need to realize, like anything, there are time when we just won't feel like it and don't need to feel pressured just because we are "heel wearing men" that we ALWAYS have to wear heels. That said, I definitely will try again, but when I am actually UP for it, but because I feel I "have" to. On a more positive note, my wife told me that her sister will be joining us tomorrow when we go to the mall and said am I ok with that. I said why not, I don't really care if she knows I wear heels and maybe we should tell her anyway since I am sure she noticed them. She agreed as long as we only mention block heels, not pumps. I said sure, no problem. She even said "Maybe she will have the courage to go buy the heels with you since I don't". Now I am actually looking forward to tomorrow even more;) Scotty

  9. Well, I went to the gas station again today wearing my pumps. This time I went to one that was a little more crowded and as I got out I realized my pants weren't as long and you could definitely see the heels. I quickly walked over and started pumping gas. An older couple pulled up behind me and started pumping gas too. I was so nervous that I quickly finished, put the cap on and jumped in the car and left. I don't know if I am ready to go out in plan view in pumps yet. I definitely felt more comfortable when I wore pants that covered the heels more. Scotty

  10. Hi Chris, Hang in there and go at HER pace. My wife isn't that "fond" of me wearing heels either, but she has learned to accept it and even helps me buy shoes. I have now completely switched over to wearing only women's shoes. Some high, some flats, but atleast they are women's. My wife helps me find more discrete shoes for work and in general as well as longer pants to "hide" the heel. Recently I got her to agree to let me wear pumps out to a movie as long as we go at night. We are still yet to do that but in concept she is ok with it. Around the house, I can wear my pumps infront of her, but not infront of our kids. She does allow me to wear my block heels infront of them though (for now). That too could change, but taking it day by day for now. Good luck! Scotty

  11. Actually I went too far in the heel lift and ended up hurting my foot with the lip of the shoe cutting into my foot. Anyway, I revamped the design to give me more lift without hurting my foot. The problem is that outside of work, I don't have a problem wearing higher heels, but at work I don't want to "appear" to be wearing anything higher than 2". Of course I like the feel of atleast 3+", so I created some hidden heels for inside the shoes to achieve this. I still think if I make something sturdy out of wood (think of a wedge shape) and then covered it with something from Dr Scholls for padding, I think it will work great. Anyone else experiment with anything like this? Thanks, Scotty

  12. Hi Dawn, I appologize. It was current when I posted the message. Since 'she'? never sold the shoe, she might still have it if interested. Maybe we can continue to use this thread to post items of interest found on Ebay, but also post the ending time? Thanks, Scotty

  13. Dawn, Thanks. I spent 3 years staying in a hotel room every week for work. With all the free time, I had to have a hobby :D I practiced alot in the hotel room in heels :D Since I am back home now, the mornings are the only time I get in the heels. My wife did agree to let me wear the black ones to a movie sometime. With really long jeans at night, I doubt anyone would even notice. Plus with all the noise I doubt anyone would hear the click. Scotty

  14. Dawn,

Actually, the black pumps are 4" (got them on Ebay too). These are the ones I was wearing when I pumped my gas.

The white ones are 5" pictured below. And yes I carry a hot cup of coffee up the stairs in the white ones without holding on to anything and don't spill a drop :D

  15. Hi Dawn, My highest boots are 3" (which I put hidden heels in to make about 4.5"). My highest pumps are 5" spiked heels, but they are white and not suitable for sneaking around in. The 3" just happen to be my black pair. I can walk great in the white 5" pumps. Since my kids are sleep in the mornings, I usually wear the 5" pumps downstairs to eat and then back upstairs to get ready for the morning. I even carry my coffee up in my pumps, so I can safely say I can handle 5" no problem;) Just don't know if I can find 5" pumps in block heels anywhere. Scotty

  16. Hi Dawn,

The sister-in-law thing didn't happen, she just decided to drive herself over tomorrow morning. Oh well, probably best.

I might try the crowded gas station tomorrow. The pumps are standard 3inch spikey heels. Black, pointey (but not too poiney) toe. Got them from online Ebay.

I have to go to the mall this weekend to return the Franco Sarto Shoes. I got them in a 10 instead of 11 because all the reviews said get a size smaller. Also I am not wild on the design, so will return them. I am going to wear my 3" boots and see if I can't find a 4inch boots.

    Scotty

  17. I might since I don't have to get out of the car and it will be dark. I did ask my wife if she ever said anything about my boots. She said she never has but we both agree she had to have seen them. So far she has never acted any different and I am able to even shoe her shoes online that she might find interesting. Scotty

  18. Thanks Dawn HH and wineanddine, I was very nervous and also very excited about pumping gas in my pumps yesterday. The one I went to only had one gas pump per side, so no one could have seen me back or front. I might try later this week going to one a little more crowded and see how it goes. On another note, my sister-in-law is staying with us tonight so she can watch our youngest because my wife has to go on a field trip with my oldest tomorrow. Anyway, I am going to run over tonight and pick her up. I am VERY tempted to wear my pumps instead of shoes or even block heels. It will be at night and I won't really have to get out of the car, so I should be fine. I know she has had to see my other heeled boots and has never said anything negative about it. What do you all think, should I go for it? Thanks, Scotty

  19. My wife and I always joke about being gender opposites. I am the emotional/romantic one, she is the non-emotional one who never knows what to give. I love wearing heels, she loves wearing "stompers". She won't wear heels normally unless it is a romantic evening alone, even then they are off as soon as possible. I usually end up sleeping in mine. I am slowly trying to reform her;) Scotty

  20. I came up with a new design of my hidden heel lift and my Clark shoes which have a 2" heel are effectively now mules (I lifted the heel the entire hight of the back of the shoe). They are probably now 4 or 5 inches! I wore them at work all day and it was great! The only problem is with the rubbery material in the Dr Scholls I used, they compress a little when I walk. I am going to look into getting blocks of wood and seeing if I can carve a set of lifts and then put a Dr Scholls cover on top of it to make it more comfortable. Scotty
