Hi Dawn, Actually I think you are giving me too much credit
I didn't think to use the excuse of "trying them before marketing them" but rather to test her reaction to me wearing heels. Since she also has a passion for shoes (she took over my wifes old bedroom at home with all her shoes!) I figured she would probably be also ok with me wearing them too. So far my theory has proven out. I've all but actually come out and said "I also like wearing heels" but from everything else, I doubt she would have a problem with it. She has seen me in my 4" boots and 3" shoes and I have just happened to have left other shoes laying out in plain view when she has visited (I am a size 11, her and my wife are a 6 1/2 so a major difference). Now with admitting to use the hidden heel to work even, I am positive she realizes what I like. Again, she has NOT treated me at all different

Story here, but they didn't say if he was wearing heels or not!
Any of our French members wanna elaborate?Scotty

I just read this on a joke site, but it could work! "I have six locks on my door, all in a row. When I go out, I lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three of them."

Here is another interesting 'development'. As many of you know, I have been working on 'hidden heel lifts'. Well, after I made mine (finally) my wife said she would like a pair. I asked her to check with her sister and she said she wanted a pair too. This weekend we were visiting my inlaws for Mothers Day, I gave my sister in hers. She tried them and said they felt fine. Well, I figured I would test the waters and said "Yes, I made a pair for me too and have been wearing them all week without a problem" to which she just said "Oh, ok". Not an erie tone but a pleasent tone. I was tempted to say "I am wearing them now too" but she could see I was wearing 3" heels already;) Since her and my wife are close, she goes shopping with us as well, so I think next time we go out I will just let her see that I am wearing them in my shoes. So far she doesn't seem fazed by all this:) Scotty

Oh yes, the memory of the cassette tape drives. I lost so many programs and had hours of frustration using them. I was never so happy when the new high tech FLOPPY disk drive came out!

Shyguy, I usually wear my Stilletos during "private" time with the wife
She notices how much more, ahem, "attentive" I am when wearing the heels. She is now the one that usually says "do you want to wear your heels"?

Hi All, In another post Xaphod was talking about being a fan of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. This brought back memories of my college days and playing the text adventure game based on the book all hours of the night (probably blew off alot of study time too;). Anyway, I thought I would throw out to the group, what was the first computer you owned and what was the first game(s) you got "addicted" to. For me my first computer was a Timex Sinclair. I got it at a major discount as the Commodore 64s were coming out. As far as computer games, my first addiction arcade game was Gorf in the bar every Friday/Saturday night. On my own computer, I got addicted to all the text adventure games on my Atari (a present from my older brothers). Scotty

Shyguy, You could try this, it worked well with my wife. She knows I hate shopping and usually grumble when she wants to go (especially if it is a mall that is a long drive away). I made her a deal recently that as long as I can wear my heels, I will take her anywhere for as long as she wants and she can buy whatever (within reason;). She said, ok, sure:) Scotty

Actually my wife and sister-in-law just bought the kitten-heeled flipflops that were all the rage last year (Target now sells them for $14.95). I disagree they are hidious. I think a nice sexy foot in such a shoe is a turn on as well; especially with painted toe nails, toe rings and anklets. Sure I would love it if my wife wore 5" stiletto pumps every day, but atleast these are a major improvement over the typical "stompers" she has been wearing every day. Scotty

My sister-in-law bought the same boots online when I bought my 3 1/2" block-heel boots. She has also said they are comfortable. I am not sure I am to the point of wearing such boots outside, but I applaud the guys that do! Scotty

Thanks Dr Shoe. I have been wearing mine for a week now and they are great! I feel like 3" at work instead of 2" but they still look like 2". Right now (at home) I have my 3" block heels on with them in and they feel like 4"! Even had to do a walk around the house (we just got it painted) and none of the workers even noticed. I got ambisious(sp?) and made my wife and sister-in-laws as well. My wife said they are very comfy. Scotty

I have two daughters, 5 and 2 1/2. My wife allows me to wear my more "masculine" heels (square toes/block heels) around them. The more femine ones I can't wear around them, even if I wear them in public under pants, not around them. Your situation sounds different in that they are older. I would discuss with the wife and do whatever you BOTH agree on. Scotty

Hi All, I finally perfected my wooden hidden heels. I can give more information to anyone interested, please PM me. Basically, I went to Michaels (a craft store) and got a piece of wood got in an oval. (It says the dimensions are 3x5, but the thickness is 1"). I cut the wood in half giving me two half ovals. I then trimmed the sides with a knife to get the wood the right size to fit inside my shoe (of course the "round" size in the back of the shoe). I then used a file and filed the end the flat size so that it created an angle (I will try to get pics, but my camera is acting up right now so you will have to bear with me). Anyway, I keep filing until I can comfortable wear the heels in the shoes. I noticed the wood heels too hard after wearing them all day, so going to the local drug store I found heel pads that just about perfectly fit the top of the wooden heel. I then covered the entire heel/pad combination with a nylon sock, stretched it tight at the bottom and them cut/taped it. My wife and sister-in-law have asked me to make them a set too!
Hopefully the above makes sense, but feel free to PM me if you need more details/info.

Thanks Dawn.
I actually went back to the CVS again lastnight because I needed a battery for my car remote. When I couldn't find the battery I actually had to interact with one of the workers and she came over and we looked together. If she saw my heels she didn't say a word about them. I also walked around the store more (which was alot busier than last time) and no one said anything. When I checked out the line was long and again no one said a word:)
I also found a toe pad that I put in the shoe which stops the "vamp" from cutting into the top of my foot. I think my foot was sliding into the shoe too far. Maybe I should have actually gotten a 10 instead of an 11. Anyway, been trying to wear the shoes as much as possible outside of work and in the evenings, so hoping to break them in more and more. I wish they were higher but they are great to wear out:)
I would highly recommend them to shyguys looking to wear heels outside.
BTW, They have a 3" heel with a about a 1/2" platform.
If you want them, you can buy them here

Hi asdf174,
I bought these a while back (in black) but haven't really worn them

They are a size US11 if you (or anyone) is interested in them.

My new heels came in yeterday. I took them to work with me today (I didn't wear them at work though). After work I changed into them. Since these are more discrete, I actually got up the nerve to go into the local CVS (drug store). After I was done, I then went to the gas station, filled up, went INSIDE, and bought some sodas. I know they aren't the same as spikey heels, but hey, this is as close as pumps I have gotten in public that was more than just standing at the gas pump.
One slight problem for all you "engineer" type (Hoverfly?)...the shoe digs in on the top of my foot. Can this be stretched? Advice?
Thanks,
Scotty

I think it was what Tom Hanks made in the movie Castaway while on the island.

Hi Arron, I am a 41yr old male in the Washington DC area and also live in a smaller "countryish" community. In the beginning I too was more apphrensive of wearing "heels" in public but has been wearing chunky heels now for almost a year in public. This weekend I went shopping in my 4" boots and no one even said a word. I have also recently been getting gas in my 4" pumps, but haven't worn them other places in public yet. I am lucky that I have a supportive wife, but she still is more nervous with me wearing heels than I am. Welcome to the board and feel free to PM me if you want to discuss things more. Scotty

TabascoTesa,
I just did a google search for you and found this website http://www.statuesque.com/Dress_Pg1.htm
They claim to have in 11, 12, 13. Good luck.

Bubba/Dawn, I've been wearing my pumps driving home everyday this week and both times that I stopped for gas this week I wore them in a more crowded setting. Neither time was I nervous or worried if anyone saw me (I was wearing long pants though). I am starting to consider going in to use the bathroom or grab a soda or something, but still am nervous about the clicking noise (not at your levels of comfort yet but getting there;). My sister in law is visiting us and both lastnight and today I wore my new 4" boots (pictured in my aviator now). I know she saw them because a few times I caught her staring out the corner of my eye, but she has neither said anything or acted different to me so she must be ok with it. We are going to the mall soon and I will be wearing them there too. Scotty

Are these shoes or paintings? BTW, they cost a mere $273!

Actually I just fill up when I get to 1/2 tank because I have a long commute in thick traffic. It pretty much works out to every other day. I haven't told the wife that I stop for gas in them, but I am sure she pretty much can figure out when I am switching back into my regular shoes in the garage

Also check out my other post here for info on how my wife feels

I finally perfected them!
Turns out my mistake was trying to make the insert a wedge and the angle was always hurting my feet. I put something under the wedge to make a more flat surface and it feels much better. This weekend I am going to redo the design with more wood I got from a hobby store. I will try to post some pictures once I get them made.

New Help Finding Boots
in For the guys

Hey Gene, Thanks for the advice and links. I will look at them when I get home tonight. Dawn (and others), I just wanted to clarify something as well. I know in several posts I have mention about my sister-in-law. To be blunt, yes I find her very attractive and sexy, BUT, I also am married to the love of my life and would never ever consider doing anything with her (I just felt like clarifying that since I have mentioned her alot). My reasons for eventually hopefully talking openly about my heel wearing with her are: 1) Since she is also very much into shoes, it would give me someone in person to talk about the heels. Although my wife is very supportive and helps me get them, she isn't "excited" about it nor do we talk alot about it. My sister-in-law always seems very interested whenever I point out shoes she might like. 2) If all goes well as in item 1, it might give me someone else to go shopping with since my wife does still get embarrised buying "large" sizes. Even she admitted that her sister might not be as shy buying them. Her take on it though is she is not going to say anything unless her sister asks. Hence my actions to try to get her to ask;) 3) My wife also worries too much about what others might think if someone should see me in heels (oh my;). I said people have and said nothing and she said yes, but they might laugh at you behind your back. My response was so? Anyway, if she sees her sister very accepting and has no problems with it maybe she will lighten up and relax more. Anyway, I just wanted to clear up why I am trying to get her to notice and get to the point of actually talking about the shoes with her:) Thanks again, Scotty
