Thanks Chris, that was my point to her exactly. Interestingly enough, she still hasn't worn them yet. Her new reasons, she doesn't have the right pants for them (do women find excuses to shop or what????). Anyway, she said this while wearing the jeans in the picture. Those jeans looked PERFECT with them, they came down to just where the top of the heel ends (at her foot). Her comment "I need longer jeans". So....she can hide them??? So what is the point of her wearing them if she is going to HIDE them under long pants?????? I am TRYING to get her to see my way, but first I need to get her comfortable wearing them.

Dawn, Even worse, I have seen people shove their carts INTO handicap spaces so that no one can park there. I have even witnessed one cart there and then people follow suit and put there there as well, until the whole space has a dozen or more carts.

While not true flipflops, my wife has a bunch of ones like this...

I've recently gotten her a bunch of better ones like this (look in the For Everyone folder for the thread on my wife's new shoes and boots)

Now, don't you agree this is much more sexy?

My wife's white sandals came in today, so I got her to pose for a few quick pictures. Maybe this weekend I can get more with her other ones. Let me know what you think.

For those that feel it is "too much work" or "well, everyone does it" for not returning carts. Those carts have wheels on them and they can roll or be blown by the wind. They also make nice dents in cars. I guess taking others possession into consideration is too much, eh? As far as I am concerned, not returning a cart should be considered on equal ground as litering AND carry a fine as well. I hope those that feel it is "too much work" to return a cart don't mind it next time they see a big dent in the side of their car.

Cool. Reminds me of a similiar incident I had with a local repair place. When my wedge boots ripped, I had my wife take them in for me. She is a size 6.5 and the boots are an 11. She made an excuse they were for a friend but when she picked them up he said "they are very nice, very comfortable" so I can only assume he tried them on.
-
I'm gonna take this one from a different angle.
EVERYBODY does that shit
Ok, I am going to take a little exception to that. My wife and I ALWAYS, even if it is bad weather, ALWAYS either take the cart to the proper return lane (or whatever it is called) or back to the front of the store if they have none. We have on occasion grapped a few here and there too if we saw they were blocking traffic, etc. So please don't use the EVERYBODY label there.
Secondly, I would like to add another observation. You (radiodave) mentioned about people being lazy, etc. Well, here is another example. Yesterday we had to go to Rockville to go to a kids show and decided to do some shopping there while we were there. One of the shopping centers we went to was a pure nightmare because EVERYONE was circling or blocking traffic waiting for people to come out so they could grab their spot. Well, as I used to live in Rockville (almost 20 years ago now) it took me a while to remember there was a back lot that almost never gets full. After FINALLY making my way through the front lot, I jumped around to the back lot. Sure enough, TONS of spots. Yeah, we had to walk a LITTLE further, but hell, what do these people think you will do once you get into the store????? It always amazes me how people will fight for 30+ minutes to get a close spot when if your willing to walk a few more yards, you can get lots of parking quickly. Unless the mall/shopping center is dead, I pretty much always park further away where the parking is easier to get in (and out) of.

We went to a kids show yesterday and this woman sitting in the asile beside me had on these very nice looking boots with about a 4 inch (atleast) heel. Of course I kept staring over at them when I could (the lights were up and down all show). I would have taken a pic, but I think I would have looked like a perv so I opted not to. Also today coming into work, I saw ALOT of women in very nice heels (most 3 to 4 inches). It's nice working for a large company during the summer, women here tend to wear high heels to work:) Scotty

This one really works well.
As I mentioned earlier, my wife complains about even the slightest heel after walking a while. To my surprise all last week and this whole weekend she wore her heels like the ones picture below (sorry, they are my feet, don't have one with her feet or shoes alone, but they are exactly the same, just 6 1/2 vs my 11). We even went to a kids show on Sunday and she had to walk a while and never once complained her feet hurt. Didn't even kick them off in the van like she normally does. I am going to have to put the same in her other heels. I am also going to try to do that to my clogs this weekend and let you know.

Thanks. I am working on getting more pics of her. It rained all this weekend (wouldn't you know it? Finally get her some nice sandals she WILL wear and the wear is so lousy she can't wear them!).
To my surprise she DID wear her ones like my old avatar ALL weekend (see below, sorry, don't have them with her feet or just alone) and didn't complain one time. The inserts I did for her shoes (see my Tips/Trick/Etc thread). Anyway, she said she would try to do some more modelling/self pics today or this week. I will post what is acceptable;)

Here is another tip.
The gel inserts I mentioned above work great, but in certain shoes the arch is more straight than arched. What I did was get the "ball of foot" insert in the same brand (For Her) and instead of putting them in the ball of the foot, I put them at the arch (pointing the other way from the instructions). This gives the shoe more of an arch you see in better made heels. The results are VERY comfortable shoes.
Here is a pictures so you can see what I mean.

UPDATE: Since I took the pic, I found placing the "ball of foot" pad UNDER the gel insert and moving slightly closer to the heel (you could try and adjust it until it feels right) works better. However, it is still the same concept. I did my wife's shoes this morning and she said she could definitely tell the difference. Since she is prone to her feet hurting when wearing heels, I plan on doing this to all her heels.

Here is a pic of my wife wearing her new sandals. I know they aren't as "glamorous" as stilletos, but I think they are very sexy:)
She did this one with her phone and sent it to me;)
If you would like to see more, please let me know. She thinks no one here would be interested.

Ok, she got in the Silver, Bronze and Tan this week.
Her opinion on them:
Silver - Loves it, too flashy for everyday wear, but will definitely wear them.

Bronze - Her favorites. Said she could wear these everyday with jeans. Will DEFINITELY wear them.

Tan - Higher than she thought (5inch heel, 3inch front). Said she feels like "Herman Munster" in them. I had her try them on and walk around a bit. She loves the extra height. She said she will look for bell bottom pants to wear them with and try them.

In addition, also bought the following for her (we are on a roll now)

To be honest, my channels of choice are Cartoon Network, Nickelodian or Disney. My girls watch it and I pretty much watch those first even if they aren't there. More entertaining than some of the other crap they put on the airwaves these days.

I actually called him lastnight (the first two times I got a fax machine although he swore he doesn't have one). Anyway, he seemed polite and said he would send a message to the warehouse and request another pair be shipped. I give him a chance and see how it goes. He was appologetic and agreed someone messed up.
-
Did someone say Beverly Heels is good? I got a notification last week that BOTH pairs of heels shipped out. Yesterday (the 18th) I got ONLY my wife's pair, not mine. I wrote them, no reply. Today still no shoes. I am starting to think I got ripped off.
-
With my shorts or on the weekends, I do. When I wear them to work though, I don't want to wear them barefoot.

Hi All,
I figured I would create this thread of tips and tricks we figure out when wearing heels, clogs, mules, etc.
A few I have come up with so far:
1) If you have heels that are causing your feet (especially the ball/arch) I have found a VERY good insert by Dr Scholl that works great.

You can get these from almost any drug store. The package says 6-10, but I take a size 11 and they work great. I just bought a pair for my wife and I was surprised this morning she was wearing her shoes (same as my avatar) and said the inserts make them VERY comfortable and she could actually wear them all the time now. This coming from someone who just this weekend complained about even a slight heel.
They also make a ball of foot pad out of the same material (same line, "For Her") but I found they don't stuck as well and tend to get shifted around as you walk. If you need the extra length, I also found you can use the two (insert and ball of foot), just stick the ball of foot to the end of the insert to extend it. That works well.
2) My clogs, I have found that wearing nylons with them make my foot too slippery and I tend to "walk" out of them alot. I tried wearing cotton socks, but I like the feel of nylon better. You have two options here.
a) Get the ankle sock and wear them over your nylons. The disadvantage is you can see the socks from whatever part of your foot is stiking out of the shoe. If you want to nylon look, not great.
I just tried a pair of what is called "Toe Covers". They make them in both, nylon and cotton. I would suggest the cotton. Basically, its a sock that just covers the lower part of your foot (I suppose you could just cut a pair of socks and them sew it around the cut part) or you can buy them at pretty much anywhere. They give you the extra thickness to hold your foot in while leaving the rest of your foot bare or in nylons. This works GREAT for clogs, and might even work well for shoes/heels that are a tad too big. Lil-Becs, you might want to give this a try as well and see if your heels fit better.Anyway, as people think of advice/tips, we can keep this thread going.

LE, I saw the same thing this weekend while surfing various shoe sites. I was about to post something to the same effect but my internet crashed before I could respond. Also it looks like alot of medical professionals wear them (I saw they even had white ones for men in the medical community). Being that his wife is a doctor, I guess it isn't far fetched that maybe she recommended them to him. Maybe she gets a bulk discount or something. Anyway, they are much different than the typical "guy" shoe he normally wears so it just caught my attention. Owning a similiar pair myself (Dockers for Women) my initial thought was maybe he was wearing women's shoes. But as you pointed out, I found a link for the same exact style in a man's shoe as well. Oh well, if nothing else MAYBE I am helping people relax their fashions a little;) Scotty

Changing a tire in heels is one thing that I haven't done yet. As a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time that I had a flat. Both my 1988 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Wagon and my 2003 Mercury Marauder both have the original unused spares in them. It seems that I wear my tires all evenly and buy 4 new ones without having to use the spares. Just lucky, I guess.
Cheers---
Dawn HH
Dawn,
That is great you haven't had to change a flat (lot of construction going on here in the DC area), but from what I have heard, tires are only good for a certain number of years as well as distance. What I like to do is have them use my spare (it's a full size spare) and then put one of the new ones as the spare. That way I know all of my tires are being used in rotation sometime.

Nigel, Actually, I was even more worried at the time. I wouldn't say it is the perfect or most ideal situation, but the scare made me realize you can't just go by what is said or not said, but you have to pay closer attention to HOW things are said or not said and communicate even more. Perhaps she senses the fact that I am paying more attention and it shows her that I do love her. Either way, I encourage everyone to do the same and make sure you keep open honest communication flowing if you care about your significant other. Anyway, on the sandals. I am very hopeful since she seems genually excited and anxious about getting them. Of course she also did the other pair, but I think these closer resemble the style she likes to wear. Also they aren't as overall high so should be easier to walk in. As I said, I will keep you all posted. Scotty

Another thing I like about them is they take paypals. I try to use my credit card over the internet as little as possible. Paypals is great because you never give out your number to the person your paying. When I do have to use credit, I try to use my AMEX. I've had fraud on my AMEX before and I found they are great at taking care of it.

Actually, those are the same clogs I wore all last summer with shorts, pretty much everywhere. Matter of fact, I wore them into the delivery room and afterwards when my daughter was born. No one said a word at all:) I love these as my summer shoes. When I found them last year bought up several pair (2 black, 1 mahogany and 1 reddish/tan that I wear around the house as slippers because my wife things they are too loud to wear out). One thing I did find out about them though. Either go barefoot (which I do with shorts) or wear cotton socks. Nylon socks (which is the same material as stockings or pantyhose) make your foot too slippery and you slide out too much while walking. If you still want to wear the nylons, you can get an ankle cut sock you can wear overtop of them. Actually just remembered I think they make toe socks that just go over the front part of your foot. I might have to investigate those as well.

Try these
Here, scan these listings (US 9 = UK 7)
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=born+clog+9
Here is a couple (I know, says US, but some people are willing to do overseas if you pay the extra shipping)
You just have to message them first and ask if they are willing to ship overseas if you cover the extra cost.

Skirts/Kilts for Men

I think I was the first person in the poll to vote never. Even if it became popular for men (as jeans are for women) there is no way I would ever wear a skirt OR a kilt.
