  1. Write an e-mail to Pierre to enquire, he is a nice friendly guy.

Sometimes you never think there are real people behind these websites, and if there are, that they are totally invisible, so to speak, and can't be contacted and hide in an office all day... It's nice to know companies like these have actual humans behind them...

  2. I don't know about anyone else, but I've found the small collection at tall-small.com to be very select and unvaried, and sometimes very boring... and it never seems to change either. I think it's a great idea to offer footwear in smaller/largers sizes than normal sizes, but I think they really ought to offer a better selection. SH

  3. Unfortunately, 26th is a no go for me, being in the middle of the week. I only have this week off (half term). 8th March is a possibility though. There's a RHCP gig in London on the 8th as it happens... not that that bears any relevence to the meet up! SH

  4. Hi Wez It looks like you can order from the website to the UK... but delivery might cost quite a bit. I didn't go through the full order process, since I'm not ordering, so I didn't get to the delivery costs. It didn't complain when I selected UK as the delivery address, so I assume you can order to the UK. SH

  5. I mostly wear boots or closed shoes of some sort. If I had some Mary Janes or courts/pumps of an appropriate style, then I would wear them outside no probs. If I had some sandals or anything completely open like that, they would be for indoor use only I would imagine.

i mostly wear boots, but i occasionaly wear a mary jane or a closed toe pump, but to work only boots

Have you got photos of your Mary Janes and/or pumps, GJ? I'd quite like to see them!

  6. Micha, what's the link to your website so I can see these boots?

I guess you're right... but not everyone knows... only about 10 of my friends. All the other 1090 student in the college don't. Well, not explicitly. I'm sure there have been quite a few who have noticed. There was one occasion just before we broke up for Christmas that I was wearing my 5in loafers. Some girls must have noticed the shoes I was wearing as a walked up some small steps, as I heard them commenting "have you seen what that guy's wearing on his feet?". I just carried along on my business back to the canteen!

Infact... I don't know why I don't just apply this theory to my boots. I guess it's just a confidence thing. At least most of the time I can hide my quiet heels with long jeans. Long jeans do not cover sound!

  7. Yes, I understand your feelings about this problem. Couldn't you start your college-outing with your most modest shoes and not with obviously feminine heels ("to blade or not to blade" *g*)?

I think you misunderstand slightly. I've already worn heels to college now, and I have been doing for several months. These have been my 3in wedge loafers and 5in loafers, and some of my 4in knee boots (all of which you can see at my website). However, I'm debating wearing my new 3.5in ankle boots to college, and also when would be best to do it. It's just a matter of time, patience and confidence.

  8. I think Trolldeg's case is slightly different. For one, he's a university student, (age 18+) where people are mostly more mature, and there is a different atmosphere about it, very different indeed. On the other hand, I'm a 6th form student (age 16-18), and so again, it's an entirely different ballpark. Second to that, Trolldeg is in Sweden, and from what I've heard, the Swedish for the most part seem to have much more open minds... My college is quite unique, and the only way I'll be able to know what the reactions are going to be, is by wearing them. Time to bite the bullet... SH

  9. Well, you can't be faulted for that! You were technically looking at "the" shoes... She didn't stipulate which ones you could look at! Ahh... I love getting off the hook on technicalities... :( Not that you need to excuse yourself anyway, there's nothing wrong with a bit of harmless window shopping! SH

  10. Hmm... I still don't consider it worth spending the money to get them silenced. I like them as they are. I just don't like my lack of confidence... *kicks self* I will make sure they get worn at some point, WITH the noisy heel. I like the sound, just not the large amounts of attention I fear they will attract. Of course they probably won't attract that much attention... but nonetheless, it makes me nervous... SH
