  1. I've seen plenty of those type of boots, but I don't think I'd ever wear them, simply because the ones I've seen aren't my style. I've only ever seen the ones with stilettos or blades with a pointed (or narrowing) toe, which isn't my style really. There may well be other styles, but I've never seen any in Nottingham. SH

  2. I read that for the first time a couple of days ago... I was very tired at the time, so I was rushing through it to get to bed! But I did read it all, and most of it made some sense! It's a very interesting story, even if it's totally far fetched! How many of us would like to be in that situation?! (Minus the nasty shocks and neck squeezing of course...!) SH

  3. I haven't yet found a desktop keyboard that I'm totally happy with... But I just love the feel of laptop keyboards. If I could get one with the same feel for my desktop, I would (although it would have to have a num pad and a regular key layout!). I've never had any problems with beverages in my keyboard... drinks are for drinking, not typing!

And my laptop keyboard will last a fair while I'm sure... I don't use it that much, it's only suffered from a tiny bit of tomato ketchup, and it's not even sticky!

  4. I was tempted to create a new thread about this, but saw this one and didn't see the point....

What's the proper way to walk in heels? I'm sure most girls and guys who wear heels don't walk properly... I'm not too bothered about it, I manage to get from A-B, but I'm sure I don't walk properly.... So how do you walk properly in them?

  5. At least you weren't actually seen in the boots!

I have a similar experience from a few years back...

I was home alone, and as I'd often do when I was home alone, I ventured into my sister's room. I opened up her wardrobe, got out the box that contained here only pair of decent heels, took them out of the bags (they're in bags to protect them cos they're velvet or something), and put them on, and buckled up the strap.

I was swanning around downstairs doing various things, and I walked out of the middle room to go up the stairs, and all of a sudden my sister appeared at the front door, back from work early, and she rang the bell for me to let her in. She could obviously see me through the frosted glass (and so obviously couldn't make out the heels). I rushed back the middle room, took off the heels, hid them under the bed, and I rushed to the front door to let her in (she had keys! Stupid lazy lil...). She was quite curious as to why I took so long, and didn't just let her in! I can't remember my excuse..

But there was another problem... there was an open box with bags strewn on the floor with her wardrobe doors open upstairs! Eeeeek!

Thankfully she wandered through the kitchen and sat down at the breakfast room table to read the paper or something. So I dashed back into the middle room and grabbed the heels from quite a way under the bed from whence I had thrust them. I dashed up the stairs, heels in hand, trying to hide them on my way. I quietly opened her door, and hastily put the heels back into the bags, then into the box, and shoved the box into the wardrobe and quietly shut the door. I made a hasty exit and casually strolled into my room!

    Far too close for comfort...!

  6. If you got a pair of jeans that have legs roughly the diameter of a soccer ball, and roughly the length of a soccer pitch then you'll be alright!! :D You can probably get these type of jeans in skate shops. (Ok, I exaggerated on the length!) As for the heel noise, try using a little bit of rubber stuck to the bottom of the heel to sort that one out... then you'll be all set for a trip out! Bob, congrats :D The first step is always the hardest one, but obviously the most important! I'm quite surprised the car came back for a second look... most people don't bother. However, if it was me, I'd wanna take a second look! Keep it up :( SH

  7. I'd love to wear thigh boots outside of my jeans... infact, I'd love to wear thigh boots period! Although I think if I was gonna do that I'd wear tights (hose) and a nice short leather mini skirt  Oooooh yeah! :D I don't think knee boots or ankle boots look right worn outside trousers... SH

  8. Wow... I envy you a lot for having the courage to wear shoes like that to work! I could never manage that! Do you wear shoes like that outside of your circle of work collegues? If I were you I'd be pushing the envelope as much as I could! Go for it and see what happens, and let us know how it goes! SH

  9. If I opened someone else's closet, and they were in there, first of all, I'd be worried as to why they were in there in the firs place! Actually, I'd do that second. First I would run! Hmm... actually I think my heart would jump into my throat, and I'd probably struggle to get a word out! Then I'd probably try and make an excuse... then perhaps I'd tell them the real reason! SH

  10. I don't have the problem with sizing, as I'm an 8/9, but I generally don't like any of the styles on shoetailor.com. Why can't these larger sizes outlets have a bigger range? SH
