  1. Pardon me if this question has been asked and answered before. Does anyone know if there is an industry standard method of measuring the height of a shoe heel? For example, I was looking at a pair of pumps the other day that were advertised as having 4" heels. There was no way I could find to measure these heels that gave 4" as a result. How do manufacturers measure their heels? At the front surface to the sole, at the back of the heel to where it joins the body of the shoe, or some other way?? Does every manufacturer do it the same way? It really bothers me that I don't know the answer to this. :x Lauren

  2. My goodness, this is more complicated than I thought! Thanks to everyone who posted a reply to my original query. I guess I am talking about clogs for that walk to the mailbox; I just don't want to have to lace, tie, buckle, or slap velcro to put them on. So I'm looking for clogs! Now, for those dressier, but not too fussy occasions it looks like mules with 2-1/2 to 3" heels might just do the job quite nicely. Is there anything special that anyone might recommend when dancing might be in the plan? My partner is nearly my height so we don't want to tower over him. Lauren

  3. I have to show my ignorance here :D but can anybody explain to me the fundamental differences between mules and clogs. I have been looking for something that I can just jam my feet into when I have to make a quick trip out to the mailbox or wherever. Some of the online catalogs I have been scanning through aren't very specific. Lauren

  4. Hi, everybody. I've been lurking for a while and decided to register today. I've been wearing heels off and on for years and have around 30 pairs (pumps and slingbacks mostly) at any one time. I'm most comfortable in a 3-4" heel but also like to wear lower heels sometimes when I expect to be walking on rough terrain. My wife (Sami) enjoys seeing me in heels and we'll often wear matching styles when we go out together (what a turn-on!) We don't wear boots very often because it's so warm where we live, but we do have some ankle boots that we wear in the Fall and Winter. I know I'm going to enjoy this forum!!
