  1. For me this is a sore subject as some of you will be aware, I am a full time heel wearer (and have wooden floors at home). I am constantly having to varnish my floors because of the damage to the wood from my metal heels (which most of my shoes have). I am a girl who finds it hard to wear flat shoes now adays (my feet are simply so used to the angle of wearing heels) so when I'm at home, I kind of know the damage that will be caused but I always know it is fixable (not the end of the world). My car on the other hand is another story.... You should see the mat under my accelerator pedal.....

Sorry to be irresponsible, but I absolutely love it when ladies do these kinds of things, intentionally or not.

    sinkem

  2. Being fortunate enough to be a woman, I hear what you see and I am sympahetic towards you men. I should tell you that being a woman, I still love the feeling of wearing my heels. I can say that not a day goes past whrn I don't wear my heels and feel great towering up high with confidence and sexiness (OK so my feet hurt a little at the end of the day but that's one of the prices you pay for all the other benefits  ).

I suspect if men wearing heels was the normal state of affairs I wouldn't enjoy my "hobby" half as much as I do.

My attraction to heels is as much forbidden fruit as it is heels. After you've done it a couple times, walking on heels isn't much of a challenge -- but wearing heels in public in otherwise male clothing is still a big deal.

As I age, now in my 50's, I find my feet, legs, and back are not as up to the task of all day heel wearing as they used to be. Most especially I used to be happy to find shoes in size 10 and wear them all day. My feet just won't compress like they used to -- I've got to find 11 and 12. Luckily most styles can be found fairly easily in size 11 at least. When I started on this high adventure at age 14 many shoe stores only carried up to size 9.

I'm not talking about the age thing to moan my feet can't take as much abuse as they used to. I'm just pointing out most of my all day shoes are low or flat heels, but they are still women's styles. I get as much of a buzz out of wearing my flat Mary Janes as I used to get wearing 5 inch heel boots.

When I was in my twenties there were heels and platforms for men in the 1970's. They were never really very popular. Most of the styles were just plain hideous to my eyes. They were beyond clumsy looking. So even then, I mostly bought women's shoes. Perhaps the acceptance bar was a little lower -- at least I felt less out of place then, but most men while curious, still didn't wear them. Remember Traffic's The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. Then like now, men were terrified of being mistaken for gay.

So what am I saying? I'm saying to me, I think I get more enjoyment out of wearing heels than I would if I was female.

  3. Well done Ruud!

I've had a little experience with driving in HH's

I managed to buy my Ballet boots from TLSB, london and then decided to head back up north up the M1,M6 whilst driving a Golf manual in a pair of Red knee length Ballet boots!!!

    FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC.....

I stopped at the services to have a natural break, So parked in a parking space where at the time, when I get out of the car knowbody can see my boots :lol: So managed to have a 2.5 hour drive then a 5 minute walk around a car park, all in a pair of Ballet Boots!!!

If you've got them, Flaunt them!!

  4. Just do it! You have nothing to lose. It takes a little bit of guts but always worth it!

There is nothing wrong with carrying a camera in your hands. Believe it or not, it's not hard to point a camera towards a subject without having to place it near your face.

The secret is not to be looking at the subject when you take the picture. Position yourself out of direct view of the subject. Observe the subject only to get a general idea of where to point the camera. Then look away from the subject when you snap the picture.

If the subject happens to look around right after you take a picture, they will be looking for someone staring at them.

You can cover up camera sounds with things like sniffling, or coughing, or humming, etc.

Glass windows make great reflectors. You can be facing a store window display and be taking pictures of people behind you.

Another good tip is to wear sunglasses. This way the subject will not know you are looking at them even if they are facing you.

And if all else fails, and the subject confronts you, just ask the subject if they got any money to spare. Then they will think you are a street bum and try to get away from you.

  5. I saw a newspaper article last week about this exact subject (I was reading it over someone's shoulder so I have no copy I can post unfortunately). The article basically proved that women wearing sexy clothing (including stiletto heels) up their chances of getting work. The article mentions that the longer and the slimmer the legs look, the more attention the girl gets (which is why heels help). Interesting huh?

  6. Thank you for all your comments boys & girls. I am delighted with them (which I guess is the main thing). I went out with them last night and had loads of comments so I feel good. They weren't to expensive either (about 80 GBP) in the sales out in Sweden. They really feel comfortable to wear and the heel (at 4 inches in height) is great for every day use (which is what I bought them for). Thanks again for your responses!

  7. What a fanrastic invention. I've often wondered why no one invents a screw on and screw off pencil type stileto heel (which you could carry differing heights of in your handbag and swap and change as you see fit) - so start off in 5 inch heels and maybe swap over to a 1 or 2 inch if you are tired. Just an idea....
