I'm wearing the neutral-color wedges with 5.75" heels I just got at Forever21 a few days ago with some stretch Levi 526 jeans. I redid my toes, waited for them to dry, then put the wedges on before I came over to the computer. Now I've got something new to look at while I see what's new here too! HappyinHeels:wave:

You see a pair of high heels and instantly start matching them with potential outfits! HappyinHeels

WOW!! It never seems to amaze me how much some want to look toward some phantom authority to magically wave a wand as if to say; "OK, guys it is now deemed acceptable for you to wear high heels, tuck your jeans into your boots, wear nail polish, etc"... Did women wait for the green light?? No they did not!! You have got 75-80 years (more or less) on this big blue planet to have as much fun as possible. Think just how much of life is spent waiting for stuff to happen. Wear what you like and what is comfortable and/or stylish but wear it confidently and smile and the world will get used to it!! The free market will sort this out but if more men openly dress the way THEY want, then designers and companies will respond in kind. To do anything less is marginalizing yourself. Get off your duff and get out there and live life to its fullest and quit waiting and wondering because you'll grow old and wish you had done much sooner. HappyinHeels:wave:

Hi There Shoe and Boot Lovers!
Here's two offerings I just got within the last two days. The black peep-toe booties were bought at DSW and I actually changed into them as I went into the store in Dockers shoes but snow was starting to fall...so into the heels I changed and wore them out of the store something I hadn't done since buying a pair of "stripper heels" in LA a few years ago. The second pair I noticed at Forever21 and, since I have a passion for wedges, decided they needed to be on my feet. The description says the wedge heel is 5" but I actually measured it at a respectable 5.75", I like the neutral color too which will make your dark colored toes really pop if you like that sort of thing.
The booties were actually 70% off so they cost me just $16 with tax!

There are no laws in the United States regulating attire while driving and never will be. Traffic is regulated enough and, frankly, many are fed up with expansionist government as evidenced by the last election. There are, however, laws that deal with a failure to control one's vehicle which is the cause of 100% of accidents or crashes as they are called in Wisconsin. Roads are specifically designed in such a way that, if driven at the posted speed limit at a reasonable level of driver awareness, a crash is nearly always preventable. A deer suddenly blasting out of the woods into the road may be one instance of simply not being able to react in time. On the other hand, I go to far northern Wisconsin frequently and have never hit one although I have had near misses. The point is the driver is held to the same standard of situational awareness whether a female in ballet flats or a male in 6 inch stiletto pumps.HIH

Roniheels, I'd like to say, or perhaps echo, what many others have said via their "thanks" and that is if one were to write a "how-to" manual on the art of wearing what you want with high heels and then narrating the experience through those same eyes then this concise synopsis can be considered such a manual. You have set the scene by telling the reader what you are wearing and how people react at different places of business to your footwear as you go through the day. Basically a persistent theme emerges. That is those accustomed to seeing you in high heels are not surprised and are educating those that are not. Most people are sheep who just watch as they munch their grass and don't make a sound unless there's an audience around. Otherwise they just stare or look up just long enough to catch their breath before they munch some more grass or, in the case of the two-legged sheep, take another gulp of coffee. Imagine then, if "A Birthday for Roni" is played out thousands of times across This Republic and other parts of the world as ordinary people (men) go about their routine and relating the experiences they have. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. It is always a privilege reading your posts! Anyone doubting that we can't enjoy life on our terms :wave:needs to look no farther than Roniheels where freedom rings and liberty is every step he takes. HappyinHeels

I have worn: women's jeans, a skirt, a tunic top, various types and lengths of dresses, a bra, a medium and long-length wig, hoop earrings, makeup with lipstick and eyeshadow, women's dress watches, pantyhose, anklets, painted toes and fingers, a CZ-type wedding ring, and of course an array of different wedges, peep-toe and open-toe pumps, classic high heel pumps, and very high platform sandals. Monday is a holiday for me so I'll probably go to Chicago wearing my Zoey 5" boots with stretchy bootcut jeans, a leather jacket, and knit cap while I see what's up down there with after Christmas sales. Okay, I also want to check out the Bakers store at Woodfield which is said to have the best selection in the area. HappyinHeels:wave:

I have found that trouser socks like the ones I have bought at Target work best with boots while knee or thigh-highs are best with high heel (5" or higher) pumps or platform sandals. Probably wedges are best worn bare-legged since many wear them with skinny jeans or just like to show their toes. trouser socks seem to allow a boot to easily go on and come off but have just enough friction to prevent the boot from sliding. That's my observation. HappyinHeels:wave:

HHDUDE,
Opened a new tab and looked at each of these sites;
MYHOTHEELS.COM-Looks interesting until you click on a shoe style and there is no size selector, no drop-down box, nothing. Don't bother with it.
MYSHOEADDICTION.COM- Typical crop of stripper heels but at good prices.Appears to be GLBT-friendly.
CUTESYGIRL.COM-Decent array of clothing and shoes but the shoes only go to size 10. Don't appear ready to get the GLBT seal of approval seems geared only to really young girls and nobody else.
WAYMOREFORLESS.COM-Looks promising except that only 42 images for shoes come up which is quite limited. Looks very GLBT-accepting.
HTTPS://SECURE.ODGIRL.COM-Very promising website and completely GLBT-friendly with a M-W size conversion chart for shoes. I am curious about the https prefix with a retail site. Bit it does work and looks well laid-out.
Hope this helps you!!

scrappycoco, I have never sent anything addressed to you before but today is that first time. You have had the courage to express yourself exactly as you have wanted which is what this republic was founded on. You have posted many photos of your rather tasteful outfits here with your face visible. You have spoke your mind and contributed greatly to the forum. All these things you have done and you worry about the trailer trash that lies in wait, TMZ-type employee wannabes, that try to tear you down on facebook??? I'm 50 years old and never been on facebook and have no desire at all to ever be. I don't Twitter and I have never used the cell phone to access the Internet not the least of which I can't stand looking at a 2"X3" inch screen and trying to discern information from it. Bubba136 and Dawn are 1 0 0 % correct when they say posting the facebook dialogue is a waste of the space here. It absolutely is and always will be since we don't know who the initials stand for and the events that led up to this exchange. Send this crap to the delete dumpster where it and the type of person that tears you down belongs. Spend your time here where you'll continue to be appreciated. You'll get past this believe me. LEGS777777, Like jwhite44 points out, doing some advance research on a store's website, will give you valuable information before going to the actual store which will smooth your first interaction with them. Where I'd would differ from jwhite44 is I'd simply tell them what specific styles and sizes you are looking for and that you are shopping for yourself. Many many women are quite attuned to their surroundings and will already guess this by the way a guy walks into store, hands in pockets or not, etc. I often look at a store's website ahead of time and peruse the offerings looking for new items, just the way the girls do, then go to the store in-person and ask for those styles and they bring you boxes of more than one style but in that size. Walk in confidently and say what you'd like to see. Go prepared by wearing knee high pantyhose which wicks away moisture and makes trying on five different shoes within two minutes a snap! Your service from the sales associates will be much more intimate when you don't BS them with a story. Think about this..if you are asked what size SHE wears and hesitate, they will know. If you say she is a size US11 but stay gazing at the shoe you so desperately want to put on your own foot then they will know. So, go through all that?? Be up front and honest. Chances are also good that the sales associate will stand very close to you which sort of shields you from the open gaze of others you may be convinced are watching. Trust me, I have been in the middle of trying on multi-strap open-toe sandals and had women come upon me and absolutely nothing happened. My bald spot had to be visible but it didn't matter. You are buying a legal product and have as much right to be there as any biological girl. Do girls have this complex about them when buying men's running shoes or basketball sneakers?? They sure don't. Go out and buy the shoes of your choice whenever the hell the want. The desire to do so will only keep growing until it drives you mad. Good luck and keep us informed when your first open purchase comes. HappyinHeels:wavey:

Hi Glitterheels, Ok, you are ready to step out for the FIRST time and you want an opinion on your three choices. After looking at the trio of heels pictured I have to mirror what KIKEPA said; YES, Maybe, and NO. The latter two are definitely for 'FUN" things like a dress-up party or Halloween or something like that. The first ones from Journeys are definitely stylish and would go well with jeans, a knit top, and a leather jacket or perhaps with a skirt/dress if you you're interested in that route. We have no idea what you want to wear. But since this your FIRST trip outside I'd suggest easing into it since YOU, more than the rest of the world, has to get used to the idea of wearing heels in public. What you want to do above all else is have the sense that you belong no matter where you stride. This is what builds all of our confidence and it will help build yours too. Good luck and please share with us whatever choices you make and how that first experience went. HappyinHeels:wavey:

I LOVE BOOTS (OR OTHERS PLANNING THE 2ND MEET)-- You had said the poll would end on the 31stDEC and details would be laid out. I know the entire US Federal Gov't requires its workers to submit leave plans before 15FEB and preferably before 1FEB. I have to think that many private companies are the same way.If, for example, this meet were to take place in mid-April, say 15 APR, well, that's 90 days from tomorrow. There is a decent chance I could make a mid April meet in LV if I could plan around it NOW. I was able to book a three-week trip around South America with my wife through four countries and eleven different airports using Kayak's website and a credit card. I'm not sure how a convention is booked but I'd think there would be keen competition for our business. What do you think?? The early heels get the sidewalk whilst the late ones are on the dirt...sinking fast. Hoping for news. HappyinHeels:unsure:

Was away from the computer a few days and see this thread has been revived. You all have turned it into the fountain of free-flowing expressions of fashion that I envisioned. I do hope the "2nd Annual North American Heel Meet" is scheduled soon as I may be out West in April or May. I do look forward to meeting some of our forumers there if the timing is right.Whomever shows up just remember these words for confidence; My Shoes, Your Shoes, Together We Stride for Liberty. Hi All!
Just take a look at these fantastic strappy sandals from Bakers which I got on Thursday the 6th of January. I loved the look and had read several reviews saying these shoes ran large meaning the normally highest in-store size 10 would fit more like a size US11. I went to the Bakers in Milwaukee after work and tried on these red ones and they did indeed fit!!! OMG, do these heels ever look great!! I always enjoy sharing photos of new purchases but figured I'd tell you if your size is an optimal 11 then trying this shoe on may well be worth your time. For the timid...yes there were other women in the store but it wasn't a concern as it never is anymore. These shoes perfectly match the red in a red, salmon, black and white salsa dress I also just got. The "EMERSON" also comes in black.

This looks just like Karos design K-0257 except that shoe had an ankle strap and this one doesn't. Every time I've seen it it was going for around $225 or so. To my knowledge this is the highest-heel available in the US without getting into custom work. I'd always wondered if any of our forumers had ever bought a pair and how they worked out. Thanks for the photos. HappyinHeels:wavey:

morpho, If you wait until Halloween then you can wear exactly that outfit you described with no courage required. Otherwise, you could just tip a few and hit the streets...you do, after all live, in New York City. They may make fun of salsa made there but nobody denies that NYC is very heel-friendly.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for all those to whom it applies from the State of Wisconsin, frozen from one end to the other and looking just like those Christmas cards you get each year but that's the way we like it at Christmas. Then.....comes January. May every one of you enjoy yourselves shopping for heels (or other things) as you build your wardrobe and build your understanding of yourself in 2011. HappyinHeels:wave:

Josh D- After looking at these red dress shoes I agree they would not look right with jeans EXCEPT maybe skinny jeans. The shoe is an open-toe sandal that has the back of a pump with a vamp detail that screams formal occasion. These shoes would match nicely with a dress or skirt. If I were wearing skinny jeans then I would much rather wear a pump of 5" or better or a wedge sandal but not these shoes. These shoes would fit well into a wedding, church, or formal dining invitation and would, as others have suggested, demand a good pedicure. That's my thought. HappyinHeels

HiStiletto, There is a reason why I recently praised your articulate contributions to this website and you have NOTHING upon which to second-guess yourself. Your opinions, as are mine, are the sum total of your life's experiences and it only natural for you to share those experiences so that others can absorb the information and sort through it. It is up to the individual forumer to decide how to use it. A refrain I learned from my Dad seems to put this into perspective; INTELLIGENCE is the foundation we are born with and upon which we construct our lives. KNOWLEDGE is the parental guidance, information gained through education, and life's experiences we use to better ourselves. WISDOM is knowing the difference between the two and using them both to enrich the lives of others around us. You are describing the double standard which most irritates us. SO, the most important thing for all of us to do is to do what is obvious....tear it down!! This can be done in a variety of ways I have, and others have suggested. You can shop in-person instead of online and make your presence known. You can wear heels alone or with other garments of your choice as you shop and make the presence known that way. You can model shoes/clothing you have purchased and post these photos on a company's website (shoeternity.com for Baker's for example) or simply contact different shoe companies and give them your feedback. The last thing I mentioned recently was contacting designers (shoes are invariably designed by MEN) and giving them ideas for shoes or submitting your own ideas. You have nothing, N O T H I N G, to regret or have doubts about. You took a wise step in joining this forum which helps all of us understand WE ARE NOT FETISHISTS to be marginalized by stereotyping purveyors of outdated psychobabble. Equality doesn't come to the timid and never has. Imagine the steely determination of Rosa Parks refusing to move to the back of a nearly empty bus in Alabama in 1955 or the Stonewall group marching in NYC in 1969. I am neither black nor gay yet I recognize and appreciate what incredible strength these people had to pursue their goals and we, in 2010, are benefactors thereof. Our goal is equality as was theirs but theirs was a much tougher fight. Step out, lift your head with your eyes forward, and smile at what lies ahead of you. A good weekend to you HiStiletto and to all others as well!!!!!

It seems like Morpho, hark, and Heelster have put a lot of thought into this idea but I would suggest an even more direct approach. Plans for spring shows would be in the works now so why not submit your ideas directly to designers?? The fashion shows are merely venues for them to showcase their style lines each year. The reason I say this is because there has been increasing use of crossdressers on runways modeling shoes and clothes as well because they are thrilled to do it and cost the designers a lot less. There have also been a few men, some with mustaches and some who were bald wearing various ensembles of leather jackets and open shirts, tight pants, and yes. high heels, on the Milan fashion circuit. It may well be worth your time and effort to approach them with the idea or, even better, a drawing of a shoe you have designed. Give it some thought. HappyinHeels

higheeluv, I think the shoes are nice and stylish, the top is like Baker's "VICTORIA" but the heel is further to the front resulting in a narrower opening and steeper arch incline. These shoes would go well with skinny jeans or various skirts or dresses I simply don't know what you are going to pair them with. I would, however, not seek our collective approval on your shoe choices. It is helpful to swap ideas on how to coordinate various clothing items but then again I am advocate of buying the shoe that you love and matching an outfit with it later. I actually saw a Lauren Conrad book on style and coordination at Sam's Club and found myself paging through it. It appeared very helpful and easy to use. These are the kinds of things that all give us ideas (which undoubtedly lead to more shoe purchases and posts on this forum) and keeps the great forum circle going. Buy what you really want and show confidence in doing so!

HiStiletto, I've wanted to say this for a while but I believe the level of your articulate writings is exceeded by the height of your stiletto heels which is probably not a bad thing. Whilst endeavouring to put forth my best written effort I nevertheless am impressed with your consistently smooth writing style and calming effects your thoughts have on those that you're trying most to help. I believe it is the keystone of this forum and we all are better for it. Thanks for all you've done in this forum this year. That's the view from the "Frozen Tundra" in Wisconsin.

While I don't have the woman's size 12 or 13 foot that so many American and Canadian men have (I buy size 10 or 11 shoes) I nevertheless need a round toe for shoes to fit me since my foot does spread out a bit. Those pointed boots that are all the rage would never work for me. HappyinHeels
Your need to wear high heels!
in For the guys
Posted
Like HiStiletto my need to wear heels stems from an almost infinite desire, but in my personal case, to express the varying degrees of femininity inside me. I keep my legs smooth, toes polished, and underdress so wearing heels is a natural extension of it. I know others here feel the same. I realize, though, this site is dedicated to all that like heels whether or not they want to wear anything else feminine or just wear heels as guys or blend masculine and feminine styles. Ideally, it would be nice if men, who lead quite utilitarian lives, enjoyed the same fashion freedom that women avail themselves of every day. Every guy who steps out, be it in sandals, wedges, pumps, or boots, is SOMEONE STANDING UP TO BE COUNTED. It can, and will, change but only if we all strive to do it together! HappyinHeels:wave:
