Yes, Histiletto, I would agree with your advice 100%. We really want to make it look easy, like any athlete strives for. I also have the 2 mile rule with almost all my shoes. I have mentioned this many times before, but I will say it again for the benefit of newcomers and aspiring public heelers. If I can't walk 2 miles (3.2 km) in a pair of heels in reasonable comfort, I get rid of them. This doesn't always happen immediately. I always give a pair of shoes I really like many fair chances to pass the test, but some shoes are just not meant for my feet, and I won't suffer for the sake of fashion. I will practice, I will train, but I refuse to feel miserable in a pair of shoes, because what's the point?
Another thing to think about--standing is often more difficult than walking. I have memories of proudly wearing a brand new pair of wicked 5" boots to the mall, then barely being able to make it back to the car because I had to wait in line for almost an hour at the mobile phone store (it was the Christmas holiday season). Wow, that tested my ability to cope with pain. Again, today, it is no problem. It's just a matter of practice and training.
A final thought tonight, on this third anniversary for me: I have a 21 year old niece in Vietnam who likes to wear heels. She is one of only three people in Vietnam who know about my choice of footwear. She seems to believe that men don't have the ability to walk in heels, and she said the shoes she likes to wear would absolutely kill me. Maybe it's true, but I'm fairly confident that I would walk all over her in a distance heeling contest. Brothers, help me prove her wrong!
I think your niece, is wrong. Most men can walk in heels better that a lot of women can. I get that statement a lot from women, when I'm wearing heels and how well I walk in them.
I have a niece, that is 35, that just loves to see me in heels. She always says, "Uncle, you can walk in heels better than I can". Enough said!

Sorry to butt in to your thread with a question, but I note that you (and Bluejay) mention liking the Payless O Malley slides. I thought I would like them as well, but I've tried them on in a store on more than one occasion and went away without buying them. The fabric.band seems to want to roll under as I insert my foot and I found it very difficult to straighten out. Have you noticed any such problem with the O Malleys or is it just me?
I have not encountered that problem with my O'Malley slides. I just love wearing mine!

Just a short note, that I saw another guy, with a full royal blue pedi, today while watching a Memorial Day Parade. We passed on the sidewalk, I complimented him on his nice loking pedi. He thanked me for the compliment. I responded that I always have colored toes, however since I was in my marching uniform for the parade, mine were not visible, today. Hopefully, I may see him again.
That's the third guy, that I seen with a full colored, pedi. The last one I saw, was wearing purple and I saw him in a supermarket, last summer.
So if we are out enough, sooner or later we'll see another guy, in colored, polished toes.

Hi fellow heelers,
It's been a long time since I last posted, a heeling outing, I thought that today, being my birthday I would make a post.
Went to Church this AM, wearing white dress slacks, pink dress shirt, with co-ordinated tie, fire engine red blazer, with my Aerosoles, "All Dolled Up" red pumps with 3-1/2" stacked heels and black sheer, knee-hi hosiery. I carried a red cross body bag to compliment my look. I got several compliments on my appoearance at Church and at my usual Sunday morning shopping stops.
Round #2
This afternoon, I went out with a more casual look. I wore white capri jeggings, with a red polo shirt and my BOC, red, wedge heel, slides, (just like the Payless O'Malley slides but in red leather, because the O'malley slides, don't come in red) I carried my red cross body bag and added a red newsboy cap, as an accessory. I liked the look and so did others. I made stops at Wal Mart, Bon Ton and the supermarket. My favorite cashier was working at the supermarket and just loved my basically ,red ensemble. She liked my little pinkies which, I colored in red too. She showed me her red, white and blue mani, which she did for the Memorial Day holiday.
As all good things must come to an end, I returned home to my family, who were all coming, to celebrate my birthday.
It was a nice day out in heels.

PS: As a footnote to JeffB, with Memoirial Day here, bring out the whites!

Looking Good JeffB.
From one O'Malley lover to another, your wedge slides look great and so do your wedge heel sandals. With the big sandal sale at Payless, I bought the other two colors of the Omalley wedge slides, the natural and the pink and purple multi. Now I have all five colors. I just love wearing them, and they go with everything in my wardrobe.
Thanks for the post and pics. Enjoy wearing your O'Malley slides.

OK, TBG on the mini skirt. Looks good on you. Most men look better in a mini skirt, than a longer length. JMO.
I recently got a black mini skirt,in rayon and spandex. It's form fitting and even lifts my rear, a bit. Wore it with a new pair of Aerosoles, white, wedge heel sandals and a white woman's tank top. Got a couple compliments on my ensemble.

Thanks JeffB for your approval and confidence in the O'Malley slides. I like mine very much. I wear them every chance I get. That's why I have 3 pairs of them. I will be getting the off white ones too.
I'm not as tall as you, being 5'11". I think the extra height is great.

Went to a movie with the wife. Forgot "we" had these so she wore them for me. Yes I have the same pair but never wear them.
This her sexy feet not mine. I would also like to add I really like the pant length and leg opening. It shows Off the shoes really well.
Size 6 or 6.5 can't remember.
Not a very good paint job on the nails.
No problem with wearing the same heels as your wife. My wife and I have several pairs of Naturalizer and Aerosoles, that we wear out together. You would be surprised at the compliments we get from total strangers, on our matching footwear.
Enjoy that with your wife!

These are my new Jessica Simpson Shirley Brilliant Blue suede pumps size 10 with a 4 ½ in heel single sole round toe
They fit great at this time .The sole is a soft rubber like substance so its nice none slip shoe I like it with these skinny jeans
Got them off Epay from Apparel Save
Maybe some day a nice trip with them is due
The first pic is the true color
Love your new pumps. They look great on you. I'm a big fan of royal blue, too.
If you want to be daring, I would pair them up with, white skinny jeans and add a royal blue top, that matches your shoe color. If you carry a bag, I would add that color also in royal blue or white. I have royal blue, cross body bags, from Vera Bradley and Calvin Klein.
Enjoy wearing your new heels.

Nice looking ensembles, TBG.
I'm not a fan of Mary Jane pumps, that you wore.
As far as feeling girly, we all share those feelings at times.

OK, JeffB, on your most recent jaunts. I liked all the ensembles that you wore over the weekend.
I'm glad your gettting a lot walking time in your O'Malley wedges. I have been wearing my O'Malley wedges too, and just love wearing them. Unlike you, I have been a fan of slides for years. My wife and I, even have matching pairs of Naturalizer slides, in block heels, both in black and white colors. Now I love the look and feel, with the, O'Malley, wedge heels.
Just tonight, I wore my brown, O'Malley wedges, with khaki colored capris, with a brown polo shirt. It was a nice look for an evening out. On Saurday, night I wore my rainbow colored, O'Malley slides, with a white mini skirt and red top. Got a couple, of looking good compliments, in my travels.
Thanks for your post and pics too.

I've never had a problem trying on heels in a store. Most sales clerks are Ok with me, trying on heels or any other form of women's shoes, in their store. Even men clerks in Macy's have been OK with that.
So guys the bottom line is just go about your business, trying on heels. Sales clerks are there to sell shoes , not to make judgements.

Slides are great shoes… I initially did not like slides but was convinced (changed) by my wife. She has always been a "slide gal." I, on the other hand preferred a shoe / sandal with a strap around the back or top of my foot. With time, and her recommendation, I have gotten to like slides as well. Slides, or slip-on's - are just that, a shoe that can be put on or off with ease.
I still have my strappy sandals, as does the wife, but slides are fashionable and comfortable too !! A few pics are included. Take care all.. sf
I also love wearing slides. I have many pairs of them. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THEM!!!!!

Hi JeffB,
Nice looking ensembles on your weekend jaunts. I especially like the tan skirt with the Payless, "Omalley" wedge heels. As I said last week, that I have the "Omalley" wedges in black, brown and rainbow colors. I've not worn mine out yet, only inside, as it's way to cold to wear sandals out and about, here. In fact we had a couple of days, when the ground was covered with snow, in the mornings, before it melted away.
Last week, my heeling revolved around wearing leggings and boots, with the cold temps, in the high 30's and low 40's. Not sandal wearing weather yet.
Today, I did venture out in a pair of animal print pumps from Lands' End, that I got last fall. At least I didn't have to wear boots out for warmth, as it got to 48*, this afternoon.

bluejay: Yes, I've quickly come to enjoy the new slides I bought, especially in the natural color as I put together a few outfits to go with them. I'm most eager to take them on a trip in the real world.
JeffB,
I'll be waiting to see your new slides, in your future jaunts.

Well, yesterday, I went and bought a shoe style I thought I'd NEVER buy----a slide! Yes, I'm sure I've mentioned a few times here and there that I've never been a fan of slides, calling them impractical because of the open back, but for the last few days I had been intrigued by the Payless "O'Malley" platform wedge slide, so, out of curiosity, I went to a store a mile away from home and bought not just one pair, but two as it was buy one pair, get the other at half off, so I got those shoes in black and natural which was a sort of beige. The four inch platform wedge was quite stable, comfortable, easy to stand and walk in, and yes, they go well with my skirts, from a mini to a maxi. In short, these slides have style, and I liked them! Who'd a thunk it, right? Nevertheless, I can't wait to take these shoes out for a jaunt!
Hi JeffB,
Last week I also bought the Payless "Omalley" slides. I bought them in the black, brown and rainbow color. Really comfortable to wear. I love wearing slides and have many pairs of them.
You got a BOGO deal on them. I got them on sale for $16.99 a pair and since I spent over $50.00, I had a coupon from Payless giving me an additional 25% off. Great deal at Payless.
I also bought two pairs of clearance "Willow" high wedge heel, closed toe, wedge heel slides one pair in black and the other light tan, at the BOGO price, plus the additional 25% off. Two pairs of wedge heel slides for $12.00 plus tax, what a great deal at Payless!
Enjoy wearing your new slides. I like wearing mine, very much.

JeffB,
Love your enbsembles that you wore this wekend. They all look great in you.
I have to agree, that your last ensemble with the red and black leather and thigh boots is a real "sizzler" look!!!!!!!
Today, I also did two heeling events too, just like you. First time out wearing, capri leggings with a pair of pumps, for my afternoon outing. Still too cool here, to be wearing sandals out, but hoping to do so soon.
I also bought a new off white, jean skirt, knee length, to wear out when it warms up.
Thanks again for the post and you great pics.

Love the tan skirt! You look so at ease in both outfits (though I'd struggle in those thigh high boots), and nice there was a positive comment. Tells me that really no one cares if you dress well and just go about your business. The tan skirt looks comfy, too
it made me put on my one - I'm getting there with the poses and since joining a gym I'm feeling slightly more confident about my legs when I go out and about
Looking forward to your next jaunt as always
Kilty,
That skirt looks great on you. As I've been reading more of us men, here at HHP, are taking up wearing, skirts.
It's a lot of fun to wear a skirt out, with my heels.

Yes, JeffB, I look forward to wearing a lot of white, too. I have a new white jean skirt and I have bought several pairs of white heels, from pumps to wedge heel sandals. I also got a new pair of white, strappy sandals, from DSW, earlier this spring when they had them in my size, that I'm just waiting to take oiut for a walk.
