  1. <snip> My opinion is " find a bakery that has a Gay employee or 3 and promote them in the local papers as being friendly to such ideas ". Instead of flaming those idiots whom ( apparently ) dont want the business or the revenues for their efforts, promote those whom do good business and dont even mention the negative ones ( even bad advertisement is still advertisement ).

This tactic works well in areas with more of a gay population then others (Miami Beach, Key West), you see a rainbow sticker on the window in the business. Just means they are gay friendly. It stinks that you have to think about which place to do business in, but it is how it is.

  2. I agree, since I have interests that extend well past heels I do know finding a balance between your sexual interests and fitting in with the rest of the world is important. You need to be you, but you need to know where/when expressing some parts of yourself is appropriate, and when it is not.

  3. While not quite a "how to wear high heels" class, it looks like Crunch Gym in Miami beach offers "Stiletto Strength", a half hour class to build strength for wearing heels. In the video the instructor says she has had guys in the class. I am tempted, but it looks like you have to join the gym for a month to try it, and thats at least $150 with all the signup fee's. :(

  4. Made the mistake of stopping at a Nordstroms Rack, since I found these for 75% off ;) Diesel Hi Persis boots. Plenty of toe room for comfort, reasonably quiet, and comfortable considering their height. Might go with slim fit jeans and actually show these off in public.

  5. There is a famous case of a gay couple being turned away from a hotel. There was also a lot of press surrounding a TGirl friend who was asked to leave a B&B with her boyfriend.

With gay weddings becoming more and more legal in the US we get stories of wedding cake makers who refuse to make one for gay or lesbian couples. This does cause a little inner turmoil as I dislike both the idea of discriminating against someone for any reason, and the idea of forcing someone to do something they wish not to. It would be better if people were free to do business as they like, but that they chose not to discriminate. Too bad this is an idealist situation, and human nature never allows 100% adoption of any ideal.

  6. Heel-Lover: With a few engineering tricks I was able to go about an hour standing/walking in ballet heels. For that I had to wear 2 sizes larger with a pair of Gaynor Minden pointe shoes inside, as they are designed to support the weight of a dancer in that position. Even with the best padding if I wore them that long I would lose the nail on my 2nd toe, as it happens to be longer. After going through that a couple times I lost interest in the pursuit of being able to wear ballet heels for extended periods, and rarely wear them anymore. Hrmf.

Keep an eye open for different gel toe pads, or even lambs wool, available from dancewear shops and online. I recommend you try several styles and see what works for you, as they all work a little different.

  7. I have a pair of '3 inch' work boots, much closer to 1.5" heels of lift. I am curious to try a pair with '5.2' inches, but have not spent the money. Quality was crap. The laces loops have edges and tore the laces up after a few times wearing them. If you can find em dirt cheap give em a shot, but do not expect shoes you can wear daily for a year.

  8. Still in the hunt for a pair of Nike Dunk Sky Hi or Super Sky Hi, but in the meantime I picked up these at Nordstrom Rack, Adidas Women's NEO Wedge; surprisingly quite roomy for a women's size 10. Almost didn't buy them because I thought they would be too small. Not an issue.

I keep seeing those at Nordstroms Rack outlets. Have tried em on a couple times but never got a pair. I really have enjoyed my other Adidas wedges.

  9. I'm kinda intrigued you guys shot straight to hooker as the explanation.

    .

Because any sexually (or etc) forward woman must be a 'pro' ;)

God forbid anyone on this board accept someone who crosses gender norms. (Sarcasm, not trying to start a fight)

Saudade: Gotta admit, the most chatter I've gotten from strangers has been due to my Orange/Magenta (not listed as pink) Vibram fourfingers. -Far- more comments then any other footwear I might wear.

  10. Not sure if I posted a pic of my new rain boots. Found these Coach boots at a Nordstrom Rack. They are size 11, but seem ok with thick socks, so may have to try em as snow boots too. They feel like at least a 4" heel, higher then the Hunter non wedge rubber boots I have.

  11. Stopped by the Boca Raton Nordstroms to try out these boots, Kellie by BP. Got a little nervous as these were the first non wedge sneakers I'd asked to try on in store. Too bad their website was wrong and they did not have my size. May try another store in Naples tomorrow with the jeans I'd intend to wear to see how they look, not just feel

  12. Got the boots, so pretty quick considering they had to go through customs/etc. You might want to adjust the text from the written portion of the ebay description to match the "exact heel height" part. Although at 4.5" the heels are easy to walk in and will probably get more use then a 5.5" might have. The footbed shape seems to fit well, and the only issue I seem to have is where the leather of the toe area meets the leather of the side of the foot. The seam seems to hit a spot on my little toe, but that might just be my feet, and I am curious if it sorts itself out in time.

Not unhappy at this time, am looking forward to getting use out these :)
