Um.  .  . have you seen what's happening in Texas lately? Outside of the subject of heels, about 99% of your post is just simply a rant. We're not supposed to be talking about that shit on this forum anyway. Give it a rest.

I live in Texas, and it took me some time to even connect what you are talking about to what I think are the top headlines about Texas that y’all are reading, which I think sensationalize the real events here.

All I have to say is, I think y’all are over analyzing this.  If you like wearing heels, just put them on and rock them.  But outside of HHP, there is no political or social group where guys wearing heels is normal.  It will take time for anyone, regardless of their persuasion, to discover and appreciate why you choose to express yourself this way.

Men also wore thigh boots back then as a matter of course

Indeed, trunk hose was mentioned in the Dress Codes book that I'm reading:

And this picture was provided as an example of it:

Back then it was the ladies who hid their legs under long dresses, and admired the men's legs in their tights.

When Ford describes this time period in this book I mentioned, he states that this is because in this time period, men were the pioneers of fashion, exploring new innovations in form-fitting clothing as a way of self-expression.  Women, on the other hand, were expected to be more modest, and continue wearing draped clothing (dresses, etc.) like what all people had been wearing for centuries (cloaks, togas, etc,)  And the dresses not only hid the legs, but also the feet and shoes.  Heels were men's fashion then.

  3. I was browsing the library today and this book caught my eye, so I read through a bit of it:

Needless to say the role of heels in fashion through history is given appropriate emphasis in this book (including how it was appropriated from men’s fashion), but it’s not just about heels of course.  It’s a good read and seems to touch on every significant point of change and controversy on fashion through history…
