I open them up in "Window Photo Gallery" and crop them there. While in Window Photo Gallery I open Paint and under "IMAGE" I "RESIZE" to 50%. Then save.

Down to under 300Kb.

Take the time and get the service you need to find shoe that fits. Unlike many here, the first time I wore heels was when I borrowed my Ex-wife's shooties for a wedding, wore that pair for 15 years. It took about a week after purchasing my first heels, Baretraps, before I wore them to work. Had to get comfortable in the height (1.5 inch - what a wimp I was).

Don't you live on the Central California coast? What I remember from my days in the Bay area, I'm also a COOP observer with the National Weather Service, is little precipitation in April and September and none at all from May through August. Were you way up the coast in Oregon or Washington? I do agree wearing a boot makes sense during rain though.
