What do I do when my ultra sexy leather Steve Madden ankle boots get worn out. These have been a favorite as seen by the wear.

    Facts of life.

    1. When you wear shoes they get worn out.

    2. Styles come and go fast.

There are only two things you can do. Not wear them much or buy multiple pairs of favorite shoes (replacements).

I wear mine and buy multiple pairs.

I missed out of buying more of a favorite pair a few times.

What do you do? Drink a toast to them and look for more. Enjoy the hunt.

  2. Thanks pebblesf.

DSW was very crowded today at noon. Went right to the boot section and started to try on boots, I had one sales associate start looking for my size and bring me boots to try. I tried these in my normal size 10 but they were too tight. However, they had a size 11 (42.5) and they fit.

My jeans fit over they just find but those heels you can't hide. I thinking of getting up the courage to wear them with leggings to work.

  3. I was half joking when I wrote that but I do use bleach in this old house. So I googled it and came to the conclusion that 1 to 1.5 teaspoons per gallon.

BUT do a test first. At least it will sanitize them.

  4. I try to limit the number of shoes I own too. Really. I also buy several different colors of sandals and boots when I find one that is really easy to walk in, specially when I see that style disappearing. I enjoy the ability to have so many choices, something I never had in men's shoes.

    * It didn't change my attitude one bit - actually, it increased my confidence. I present myself in a completely masculine fashion and I feel even more confident now in my masculinity because I dared be myself.

This is so true. Today I push my (self imposed) boundaries by wearing dark fingernail polish. My hands are very visible at all times in my job. I both excited and scare, but I am daring to be ME.

  6. Jeremy, I just playing with our friend from down under.

I think Sydheel wears his heels in public all the time, so they should be considered just his shoes. I've been wear women's shoes almost exclusively for the past 7 years. The only way I part with a pair that has made it's way into my closet is when they just fall apart from over wear. It's hard enough to find heels I can wear for 12 - 16 hours straight, that's why I don't part with mine.

Most of my life I hate shoes, mainly because they never fitted. So shoe shopping was worst than getting 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time with no novocaine.  Since I discovered women's shoes fit, I just love shoes and shoe shopping.  It's so nice to wear shoes that fit. So what if I have 50 - 60 heels, they almost all get worn in public. Besides I can't be seen in the same heels twice in one week, I have standards.:giggle:

I just did a count... How the hell did I get to 40 ???

Get a hold of your self, mate. Only 40.

Get yourself a bookcase and put the bookcase into the closet. Then stack you heels in the bookcase.  It helps if you have a walk-in closet with room for a lot of bookcases (like I do).  I passed 40 sometime last year and awaiting another one to arrive later this week. And even went shoe shopping today - got to see the new fall boots and booties. And I'm still looking for my blue swede heels.

    Only 40.

i cleaned them up since but they're still a bit on the grungy side and threads are filled with icky stuff but i'm just going to leave that.

Old tooth brush or nail brush will clean that up. Good luck with tonight's ride.
