Last week I went to my salon for a Valentines mani. My nail teck who is a real pro, did a fantastic job. I got clear gel over a base coat of very light pink on all my nails. Then she added some nail art to my little pinkies. On my right pinkie, red glitter coat with the love symbols XO painted in a bright red, followed with an envelope outline also in bright red. On my left pinkie a coat of white with a red heart, with an attached chain also in red. She told me the theme was "Love Letter From The Heart" All the other women at the salon had to see my art work. Lots of compliments from them and others that saw my mani over the Valentines Day holiday. BTW, I also got compliments at the salon for my ensemble I wore. Red sweater, with black leggings with red and white hearts on them, with my Easy Spirit "Evolve" black knee boots. I also wore a red mask with a white heart on it.

    Great day at my salon!

    Happy Heeling,

Spent all day fixing a burst water line in my attic. Did not find any other damage other than a broken shut off valve that was easy to fix. Unfortunately, I was not wearing heels while making the repairs...

Well at least it was an easy fix

For those of you who complain that I never wear boots, here you go. It didn't kill me after all, though I didn't realize how scrunched up my jeans had gotten from getting in and out of the car several times. That's definitely a downside to knee high boots. Also, I probably need to replace the boots I'm wearing, or at least do some work on them. They're getting rather raggedy looking if you look too closely.

Looks great to me. I have that issue sometimes with the jeans. I supposed skinnier jeans or leggings would be better. I have also seen girls tuck their jeans into their socks, maybe that's a quick and easy solution? Anyway, the boots look suits you!

Suede softens the look of a thigh boot. And a lower thigh boot helps too - a few inches or less over the knee

Agreed. I also have a pair of black flat OTK suede boots, just a few inches over the knee. They are very "normal" looking.

I dunno. I seem to remember lots of girls in high school in the 80's with their jeans tucked into their boots. It might be my memory distorting things, but I was paying attention to their footwear back then. Especially the ones I was crushing on.

Yup. I think it was very much an 80's style.

I've never had a desire to own thigh high boots, but the way the snow keeps falling here today, I might need some!  This is getting ridiculous.

Same here. Always looked a little too "prostitutish" to me... (No offense...), Or cheap looking, especially with the patent look. But then I saw this beautiful stiletto style boot, black suede. Very classic looking, and they really looked good  And on special.  So, I took the leap

This is my first purchase for the 2021 heeling season . Last year around this time Torrid had the same style out in Blush and Black . Unfortunately , they were sold out of the Black so I decided to go with the Blush . This year they reintroduced them again in Black so I had to snatch another pair . I have both Black and Blush now . These Espadrilles are really comfortable to walk in and they do run a little on the large size . In comparison to the Payless Brash Espadrilles , I had to size down one whole size with the Torrid to a size 11 W from the normal 12 W from Payless . I can wear these all day with no problems . If you have narrow feet , I would recommend against them . Me , I have a firm foundation to put it politely . These have a little wider wedge than most of my other wedges and makes walking a breeze . The ankle tie is long and they stay in place for me , then again mine aren't tied half way up my calf muscle either .

These are the next pair on my radar :

Congrats on the new wedges. I like the style.  In fact I just bought the identical pair, almost exactly the same, from asos.  Waiting for them to be delivered in a few days...

  8. @HeelsWearer, I am enjoying reading your stories. Thanks for taking the time to share them. Sounds like these experiences really helped you mature and understand yourself. While loving heels from an early age too, it took me many years to have a little more insight to it.

Those sandals above I like (and actually have) as well, so understand your buying them! Not much of a clog person.... But I can see the appeal.

I think you may be pretty safe on the train. Those boots are amazing and probably could be considered lethal weapons.😁

I live in the north suburbs of Chicago, Would go to Chicago all the time either by car or train to wander and have fun.  Train was always interesting since you are kinda held captive on an hour ride for everyone to look at you and stare or even ask "whats with the skirt and heels?"  image.thumb.jpeg.d0a51f2ca9d5557d6a7b098b49e49391.jpeglarge.image.jpg.791fe355969a3fe0c60c8e5da2187282.jpglarge.image.jpg.338b10f78580dc79fe1527cbbcc2961f.jpglarge.image.jpg.78f67fa7500c97222cf17336d4356045.jpg

Was just about to say the same thing. Those boots can almost protect themselves!

@CAT, loving those looks above too. Hope you get to relive those experiences soon....

  10. Just logged on after a couple.of weeks absence. I join the chorus of compliments on a story well told.

Heel stories are always fun, and a quality story teller makes it even more worth the read.

And finally. Thanks for sharing your story with us. So far, it actually sounds like you were living the dream many folks here may have had ;-)

Here we go, with pair No. 81. I think I'm done for quite a while, as I've spent too much money in the past few months between shoes and the holidays. These Dolce & Gabbana mules were another ebay purchase, but these came all the way from Russia, so they took a while to get here. It is not the first pair of shoes I have bought from Russia, but the other pair was so long ago that I cannot look up to see if it was from the same seller.

The reason I had to have this pair, even being from Russia, is that I had been looking for something pretty much exactly like this for years, and suddenly there it was, right in my feed. A denim upper open toe mule with a fairly high wooden heel. It was an auction, so I couldn't just snap it up right then and there, but after a few days, the auction ended, and it turns out I was the only bidder. I paid 79 USD, but it cost about 25 USD to ship from Russia, so the total cost was just over 100 bucks. The package took right at about exactly one month to get here, and that is even with the holiday season in full swing, so not bad at all.

Yes, I know, I got another designer brand (hangs head in shame), but it just so happens that all the stuff I've liked lately has been saddled with a "name" on it. Sue me. Now for the particulars: 5 1/2" genuine wooden heels, 1" platform, leather-lined fabric uppers, leather soles. Yet another pair of shoes I will have to get sole protectors on if I'm going to wear these out in the real world. Whether that will be happening soon is open to question. I cannot quite figure out why, but these shoes feel far steeper than the numbers would suggest. On the other hand, I haven't really gotten a chance to try them out properly, as I'm not silly enough to wear expensive leather bottomed shoes out in the snow. The footbed is almost ridiculously thickly padded, which makes the effective height of the shoes not insignificantly taller. It does feel like you're walking on bluejeans, which is kind of a curious feeling, but not a bad one. The uppers are a little tight, but I think this may turn out to be an advantage in the long run after things stretch out a bit. I've had plenty of shoes that seemed to fit perfectly get too loose after a few miles.

In short, yes, they are super cool, yes, I'm happy with my purchase, but too soon to tell if I will be reaching for them often come summer. A lot of it depends on how comfortable I become at walking at the top of my height range, and I might better take some video of myself walking before I go out in public, just to make sure.

I generally don't like Mules. But these have a certain appeal to them. maybe its the denim style. Very nice! Enjoy wearing them.

I have known Constance (a brazilian brand that produces sizes up to 12W) for a long time, but their selection was very limited in that size. But last month, while Christmas shopping for my girlfriends mother, we found that they expanded the available models... the result was tragic for my credit card... 😜

Just loved the rhinestone style! Hard to stand for a long period, but very pretty! The other two are the same model in different colors. Very comfortable because of the platform.

They are all a little bit over 5”... 🥳

I think I found this site about 10 years ago when I was about 13 or 14. I made an account but never dared to post except for maybe one or two times, as I felt like everyone already knew each other and that I would just get criticised or ignored. The forum was a completely different look back then

Well, good to have you back. And so active too, since your return! Amazing that already at that tender young age you had such a strong interest in heels.

Brand name, don't really distinguish, I look at the style first. So whatever opportunity there is to grab a good pair of shoes, I take it, regardless of brand name. Have BCBG which I really really like. I have a bunch of Le Chateau from their clearance stores a long while back, some of which are really awesome shoes. Some Aldo, again clearance, but one of which is my "goto" right now. Some stuff ordered online, so Chinese which also works fine. My other "goto" is from a small clothing store here. Never bought Steve Madden, nor Onlymaker or any other styles, I have way too many shoes as is so really tend to stick to the bargain hunting...

    Same!
