I wonder if there is a correlation between cis men wearing heels and risky transportation sports
I'm a licensed pilot, and I sail. Horses too...
Primus sucks. (Don't worry, I'm supposed to say that)
As far as heels go, I'm drifting into the Cat lane a bit, heels with nylons or fishnets with a bodysuit top are my thing right now, especially with the holidays coming up.

Over 12 hours, my Jeffrey Campbell ankle combat boots, huge 6 inch stacked heel, 1/2 inch platform. Had a gig for a dj/electronic artist, and I was part of the live act, as well as the image for the whole evening. Quite a workout.

So, I wasn't sequestered, although sequester can still occur after selection. It can occur during the evidentiary process, to be sure nothing is improperly seen or heard from media or other people. That way, only the lawyers decide what is seen.
Nothing was said, strangely, although the model was more vocal ABOUT heels while we spoke. And the lawyers who wore them were very aware of the image they portrayed, as they wore flats at any moment they could.

Just served 2 weeks on a jury here, and wore my high heels Frye boots about a third of the time, the same ones in my avatar, except black. Nobody said anything, although I did get a TON of looks, stares, and awkward smiles. It should be said, however, that most, if not all female trial lawyers and law clerks wore huge heels, around half the time. None of the others on the jury ever wore anything like that, despite one being a model, and another being very attractive, and very femme. Thoughts?
I really will never stop wearing heels, I think...

Church Outfit of the Week (OOTW). Does anybody else appreciate the difference between an acronym and an initialism? I got a 3 page list the other week of Company X "acronyms," which was actually very handy, because they use all of these abbreviations constantly, and act like people know what the hell they are talking about. However, 90% of these abbreviations were not in fact acronyms, but initialisms. And I expect Company X people to know what the hell I'm talking about.
Back on point, the flared trouser seems to be coming back into style. Naturally, it is a slightly different cut and presentation than my old recycled clothing, but I didn't think it looked too bad, especially with my now-back-in-style-but-still-dated-looking platform sandals.
Well this just looks way too Perfect! Great length, great cut, works so well!

I keep looking for a sandal in that style in my size, and haven't found yet. Great find!!

Those look fantastic on you!
I'm also having trouble with the strap on an open toe pair of slides I've been trying to break in. Just a hair too tight, so I have to wedge my feet into them. Although they technically fit, they are a little too annoying to wear regularly, as I want to. I'm considering just going with your advice about being comfortable and competent in heels, and just walk around the block daily or so. Might become my go-to shoes.
-
Yep, the whole thing was annoying until he told somebody that you were a friend, and not a brother. That's not simply annoying, that's pathological, as well as insulting, degrading, and incorrect. He lied. That is so thoroughly f%$@#d up, I can't be emphatic enough about it.

This is way late for a response, but perhaps a low acid CA glue with upholsterer nails all around...

These photos are such an inspiration for me! At this time of year, I always get really into high heel sandals, as it is, of course, The Season. I have trouble getting the nerve to really actually wear them out and about though, as that means everybody can really see my feet. I feel as if one Must have painted toes for it, and I really don't have the patience for that, and often I really don't want to anyway. I just know that a part of me wants to get a great pair of high heel slides or wedges, and just make them my quick on-off shoes for bumming around and running errands. Oh well, next step, I suppose, although I probably still won't paint too much...

I still buy work boots and hiking boots without a zip. Waterproof and supportive. I also kinda don't like seeing macho guys with 'rugged' boots on, and then seeing a zipper on the side. Kills the aesthetic.

No, it has zippers, won't do another pair without them. I have an awesome pair of lace up knee boots from Onlymaker, but ONLY lace. Love the boots, but never wear them, too much work.

New boots, Still searching for the perfect knee high stiletto boots, but these shall do the trick until I pull the trigger on a much more expensive pair of custom boots. They're more comfortable than they should be, not quite up to the knee, but I have long legs. At least they hug my calf quite well, which is always an issue. These are most likely my new workout heels, as they are almost six inches, and no platform.

The outfit of the week is a boring earthtone theme. The short sleeved button-down has fallen out of favor these days, and I'm not 100% sure why. I believe it has gained a reputation of being something only old men wear, young men evidently preferring to roll up their long sleeves with a technique I've never really mastered. Less old man are my Buffalo (Costo) skinny pants, which are also evidently supposed to be going out of style.
What shouldn't go out of style anytime soon are my BCBGirls "Poland" sandals. The feature I like about them best is that they have these little medallions at the ankle strap which bounce off the skin of your feet as you walk, just underneath the ankle. It's an oddly pleasant sensation. I haven't worn these sandals since they broke last year, but I finally got round to fixing them. A simple glue job, with no cobbler needed.
Love this sandal style!

If I had a dollar for every time some drunken patron has asked me to play Free Bird, I'd be a rich man.
Same, except I would charge them Ticketmaster fees as well.

The Chinese are still pumping out heels by the boat load. Can't just be us guys buying them.
I think about that often. How many 'bros' are wearing heels in private? I really don't think we are that strange for wearing them, only for doing so without shame.

Those are Atomic Weapons Grade boots! Very powerful!

That looks really well put together.

Just got these "Circus" by Sam Edelman Boots, called Clairmont. I suppose Circus is a budget brand, as they were only about 30 bucks new, but as is often the case, they fit better than boots that cost quite a bit more. They're really high, about 5 inches, and single sole, and pinch a little, but they are all man-made material, so I just have to hope it stretches a bit.
The big thing for me is still width across the calves, as I am still a pretty skinny guy, even by guy standards. I just also happen to be tall, so, big feet, thin calves, and these seem to meet well in the middle, without spending the 450 I would have to spend for custom leather boots.

Yes, they still subscribe to the Louboutin idea that women are all a femme fatale figurine from the forties.

Too many Pairs...
in For the guys
Posted
Couldn't find another topic page with this topic, although I was sure there was one, so I started another.
I have too many pairs of high heeled shoes/boots/sandals/whatever. That means I can only wear them when I am not working, working out, sailing/flying, or hiking/hunting. I have a dedicated pair of boots or shoes for all of those activities, then at least fifty pairs of heels that are just for fun. Need to downsize, my LA apartment is too small for such indulgences, but I can't get rid of most of them. They were either a conquest in finding what I had been looking for, or lucky breaks. Pretty sure the right thing to do is to actually look at which ones I really wear, which isn't many, and get rid of the rest. Anyway, you have the floor. any advice, stories, or even commiseration is welcome here.
Some of the shoes I have could be sold for a few bucks, but most can't. Just a loss...
