Under a hundred but over fifty. My husband would die if he saw all of them but like most men cannot keep track of my new clothes or shoes. I have three pair of ballet boots, about four pairs of regular boots with heels, about ten pair of wedgies, about twenty pairs of sandals and maybe twenty-thirty pairs of pumps including a few pair of 6 inch stillettos.

I have always noticed that for years that at least 50% of ladies take off the shoes at any party when dancing starts. I am too cheap to wreck my stockings and I really cannot dance without the support of heels anyways so that is a moot point for me.

I have the opposite problem. My hubby always feels I cannot go somewhere because I am in heels or feels like I cannot walk all day to shop because I am in heels.
Did you ever find that guys you've dated often had no regard for the fact that you're wearing heels?.
Expected you to hop over a fence, perhaps take a shortcut across an unlit garden or park, or even walk several blocks instead of getting a taxi?
Or do I just date the wrong guys?.

Now I am off trying to find a measuring tape to see how long my legs are. Sheryl

aged 95 and still in heels. I admire that. Sheryl

Ballet boots for 48 hours straight. Otherwise heels almost 24/7.

Crocs are ugly and even worse on middle aged men. OK for kids but yuck. I am also not a big boot lover.
-
Strange but not scary at least. I wish I had someone to kill all the bugs around here. Sheryl

I have been locked in ballet boots for a weekend and that is the ultimum as it really does affect what you do, where you go and I cannot drive so essentially stuck at home. Sheryl

Wow this is and OLD discussion but I had to comment that I too have this issue. Now I am truly committed to heels for life and it has both good and bad points. Sheryl

I find that most men look or stare and enjoy the view of me in heels while more ladies frown upon it and comment on things such as they are bad for your back, it is dangerous and it makes me look like a tramp.

Style and comfort and more important than height. All my shoes are at least 4 inches so height is not the factor I look at but what they go with and where I can wear them.
-
Foot size does make a difference but if you want the look try ballet boots which are completely vertical. I am a size 7 (US) shoe and can wear a 6 inch heel but my friend who is a size 5 can only wear a 4 inch as the 5 inch is like a ballet shoe for her.

I am in heels 24/7 so the pool or beach means nice sandals or mules.

Maybe I need to move to a different country. Most of my casual heels are about $50-70 Cdn while I have many pairs in the 100-150 dollar range. Sheryl

I have not had toes shorten or removed (which I have seen) but my tendons re-done after one was torn. They are both shortened so my heels are not able to touch the ground but allows me to wear higher heels. Sheryl

I have an ankle bracelet that never goes off and even with stockings I make sure I have them on. Never can wear a toe ring as my shoes are far too tight to accomodate any foot jewelery. Sheryl

Your story sounds so much like mine. Today I am 4 inches at work, 5 in evenings and sometimes a 6 if I know I am not walking. Being 5.7" I start to look like an amazon sometimes. How tall you are?
-
Until I had my growth spurt around my 15ht birthday I always wanted to be taller and although I had no idea what a real High Heel was I wanted to wear something more grown up. I remember arguing with my mom to wear these 2 inch platform sandals that one day became a 3 inch pump and it never stopped. Well it has since there is limit to how high a shoe can be and it is certainly 6 inches.
-
Many times I wear a higher heel and figure I have a nice dinner but if it turns into a romantic walk with the hubby after dinner and you are 6 inch heels then it can be tough. Since I cannot really walk barefoot unless I am on my toes it provides not option but to try and not kill myself. I can do anything but run track in a 4 inch but a 5 is more for dinner and a 6 is only for short term use and not all day wear.

If the heel is high then I always go smaller as I find the larger size allows my toes to squeeze down to the front of the shoe and there is too much room on my heels and I slip out of them. If you are doing a lot of walking the smaller size may hurt your feet (esp your toes) but it can save you from falling and hurting yourself even more by twisting and ankle or breaking a leg. I have a couple pair of ballet boots and have spent a couple days in them. Recently I have convinced my husband who has been very reluctant to take the key and I have spent three days in them without any relief. It was painful during the days but even worse when getting out of them and trying to walk in barefeet was like watching Bambi. Sheryl

I am not into real sharp pointy shoes but find that my other toes almost overlap and my little toe is somewhat deformed and looks like it is bent out of shape. I have seen gals even have one toe removed with creates more room for the others but my feet are sexy in shoes and not so much without them anyway. Sheryl:yummy:

Ok ready for the list. I have damaged my feet by wearing heels all the time, I have damaged the floor many times by wearing heels indoors. I have damaged planters by tripping with my heels. I have damaged the wall by spilling a drink while trying to navigate heels and stairs.

No but I have had many times where the heel broke or the cap comes off and I am left with the dilemma of hobbling along with one shoe or just going barefoot.
