  1. Today was another "red & black" day for me at work, but I wore some higher pumps than usual - these were a full 5" stiletto pump in red-patent with an ankle strap! I did NOT stumble about, but I'm not gliding yet either. I'm working on it, and work is the best place to get a lot of practice when getting stuff in the break room.

Someday I'll post a pic of my collection, so you can see just how full my room has gotten lately!

I can just picture the reactions to THAT pic....

  2. I've been into "Kinky Boots" since Francis intro'd me to that one! I also like "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" by Kon Kan (80's remix w/Nancy Sinatra) Also, "Red High Heels" by Jane Siberry and "Diary of the Red Shoes" by Kate Bush

  3. Trying to be normal is a fruitless search, which always ends up leaving the person who is doing the searching with an empty feeling inside, and no real sense of accomplishment, for all they have done is stripped away their individuality and made themselves one of an endless string of clones (aka "The Borg").

  4. You were absolutely right! Even though it's a very pronounced pearl sheen, it is low-impact, and not many people said anything about it. Today I donned my hot pink shirt, jean jacket, acid-washed jeans, put on a black headband with gold threading, black fingerless gloves with hot pink nail polish (along with my huge goth rings, and hot pink pumps. Oh yeah...and huge gold dangly 80's-style earrings. I'll post a pic if I can get one today. VERY 80's! -SQ

Boy that sounds AWFULLY familiar to an outfit I saw SOMEone  wearing before. *wink wink* *nudge nudge*

  6. I went to the corner store yesterday and found this stuff called "Sinful" brand (heck, it's only $1.99 a bottle) and found a color called "Tokyo Pearl", which is a really SHINY pearl color. It is light so I tried it today and left it on when I went to work. Gee...these people must really be used to me, as nobody said a blessed word! Wow! And to think I thought that would cause SOME kind of reaction. Ah well...... Tomorrow is "dress in your favorite decade day", so I'm gonna poof out my hair, put on a black/gold headband, acid-wash jeans, pink shirt, black fingerless leather gloves, and pink pumps w/hot pink nail polish. Call it the "80's alternative scene" look!

  7. I've mainly gotten a lot of positive and supportive compliments from the ladies, and only a few questions from the guys. I remember one time going shopping in the mall and my wife overheard this couple say "Is that a guy or a girl?". The only other comment I usually get is "Aren't you tall enough already?", since I am 6'2" and usually wear 4-8" heels.

  8. Thanks, JeffB!

This weekend I got a pair of platform pumps that are VERRRRRY comfortable, and stylish (IMHO) at the same time!

Tomorrow, they get their first day at the office! People have seen me in similarly styled boots, so I doubt these will come as any shock to them. I love 'em though! We may be carrying them at the store soon too! Yayyyyy!!!!

  9. Even social outcasts have friends, as I have been one myself many times. It's just a matter of finding friends who either are into the same things you are, or are cool about it in general. It can be done...it just takes effort.

  10. Saturday Report --------------- After wearing a skirt & heels last night, I thought it'd be cool to continue the trend today. When I got to Rave's to help her out in the store, I changed back into the skirt, and donned my thigh-high platform boots. It was a great feeling being able to wear a skirt & heels all day long - a lot more freedom of movement, not to mention the fact it felt so much better! Chris & Terri, his wife, came in today to get makeovers done (they looked PERFECT!) and did some more shopping. I'm not sure who all in our group had the best time! It was great intro'ing Chris & Terri to Raven, and the other way around. There will be a great many pics posted of the time spent during this weekend, including a pic of moi in the above mentioned skirt & heels! Omigosh! A RECENT pic? *thud!* I had an absolutely wonderful time with Chris & his wife, and would love to do it again very soon! I believe for the first heeling in Denver, it went extremely well! Yes...I'm in a GREAT mood! SQ

  11. Day One Report -------------- Chris and his wife met my family for brunch today and then went to Rave's to pick up a new pair of platforms that came in on special order (they SO kick ass!). After some errands, we went back to Rave's, where I tried on Chris' skirt for size (OMG...it fit!), and then found a really nice velvet shirt with dragons on it to go with it. Those two items, plus hose, and the new heels, and we proceeded to go out on the town for a bit, and then to coffee! Unfortunately, only one of my friends joined us for coffee, but we had quite the interesting discussion time! All in all...a wonderful day, and I got to go out in a skirt for the first time in a VERY long time! Quite the rush!:grin:
