  1. I'll keep checking on it using Photoshop and Fireworks to see how much I can shrink them. I haven't done too much with optimization yet, but I shrunk down the image size to a more manageable level than they were originally - I'll keep working on it. Thanks for the heads-up though. How did you like the article?

  2. I think that's the part I get the most compliments on - that I can walk in higher heels with style, and not stumble around like some sort of clown. The other day I wore my strappy "slice" boots with black pantyhose (to blend with the boot better), and this gal was walking by and she just went nuts! She was saying "I was way out there" and "are you wearing nylons with those?". I think she was having fun in a good way, so I got in on the good feelings there. The ladies I'm around don't have a problem with me in heels, and have complimented me many times on how well I do in them. One of my dear friends wants to go walking down 16th st. Mall here in Denver while I'm in my heels, since she says they look good on me. It is nice to have such supportive friends!

  3. I am SO glad I listened to the people here, as well as my own inner voice! Life has been much sweeter since I have broken out an expressed my fashion likes! I spent a lot of my growing up years wearing heels only in secret, or with my most trusted friends, for when you grow up in a small town, everybody knows you....as well as your parents. Granted my mother eventually understood when I told her, but I never told my dad for he would not have understood, coming from a smaller town himself. I think the biggest help was moving to Colorado from Montana, since the atmosphere here is much more tolerant. Also, I found that since I can wear my heels to work, I can be in them much more than I could before, and I think it adds to my wardrobe in a very positive way. The only "downturn" is that some of the ladies get jealous of my styles, and how well I have gotten to walking in them. I say to anyone who is just starting out that there are very few reasons why one would not wear heels, and most of the time it is out of fear of rejection from others. Maybe I'm just lucky that I've not run into major hassles, but I feel a bigger sense of freedom from taking those first steps!:grin::grin:

  4. The other night, I was out for coffee with some friends of mine, and I was wearing my 4" baby-doll pumps under pants, and when using the "facilities", on the way there I heard this guy talking quite loud saying "Did you see that guy over there? He's got high heels on his feet. Just wait til he comes out...you gotta see this!". *sigh*...some people STILL need to get a life I guess. I completely ignored the fact he was breathing air and just walked on totally oblivious to his statements. I was comfy in my new pumps, and no one was going to spoil my mood.

  5. Amen to that Laurie! I can't see the point in people living their lives being bitter all the time, or looking for ways to put others down to make themselves feel better. I find it much more productive to smile and try to have as good of a time as possible! That way it makes your day go SO much better.

  6. Yeah, I figured for the price she's selling them for (read: $24.95) I can easily afford those. I haven't regretted it since! They are SO comfy! I may get the red-patent ones next. Whenever my friends who live in the apartment complex see me coming by with shoe boxes, they usually ask what I'm bringing home so they can see. I haven't disappointed them yet! I'm loving the boots more each day, as I like the open toe and the ankle-support they provide. Very easy to walk in too!

  7. I just picked up two new pairs of heels today at Rave's, and they are SOOO COOL! I love them both cuz they are really comfy and I can wear them all day.

I had to pick up some baby-doll pumps now that she has them in stock

I can just imagine the looks when I go back to work on Sunday!:grin::grin:

    It's great to be back!

  8. Thanks, all! I wasn't sure the pics would turn out or not, but I'll post some better ones soon! I just counted my collection after weeding out the ones that are too small, too abused, etc., and have a total of (counting shoes AND boots)........

    :smile:TWENTY-SIX PAIRS!

So now I know I have more pairs than most of the friends I know here in Denver! Wheeeee!!!!!

  9. I'm trying to break away from the platforms for a bit, and wear some really tall heels (in my opinion).

    THIS is my next goal......

Only mine are in REDand WHITE

5" "true incline" is still somewhat new to me, but I wore my red ones to work, and got some really good kudos on being able to wear them.

I hope to be as proficient as Laurie someday!
