  1. Welcome to the site Mr Logjam, it is very nice place. I have worn women's shoes since I was a teen, and high heels since around 1996. It takes some time (and courage) to actually get out in public, especially since there doesn't seem to be a lot of guys who actually wear heels (or women's shoes) in public. I have only seen one other guy in gals shoes, flats - so it can be "lonely" life. The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event is a good place to get out in public in heels for a good cause, and have some fun. Payless is a good place to start, they generally have nice looking shoes in larger sizes, and the staff is very helpful and understanding. Good luck, and take care... sf

  2. Yep, many times, no big deal. Usually wear wedgies with a low heel (2 inches or less) so as not to make a "fuss." I wear heels for the comfort and style - and 'cause I like to - not to attract attention to myself. Twice folks have mentioned my shoes, once by a guy and once by a gal, both said they liked my sandals!!

  3. For years I have written reviews of shoes that I have purchased. In my reviews I always say that I am a guy. I have done reviews at Zappos, Nordstrom, DSW, Payless, Marmi and many others. Without exception, all of my reviews have been posted, and only once was any editing done. The one post that was edited (at Zappos - which surprised me), they left out the part where I said I was a guy, but left my name and other info so that anyone reading the review would know that the writer was male. But the Zappos editing must have been some sort of a glitch, many other Zappos reviews were posted as written. My latest Zappos review was for a pair of Annie sandals called Venice - go check it out. See ya, sf

  4. All them dudes were heros. Armstrong's passing made me sad. The end of a great era for the US. Even more spectacular was that it was all done with 1960's technology, your brain, paper, slide rule and wristwatch!! And now we can't even get a man into orbit, sad, sad. On the lighter side, I remember (and give equal credit to) the second guy on the moon - Aldrin. But who was the last guy on the moon? Gene Cernan - Apollo 17.... sf.....

  5. stw8, Good to hear from you!! I guessed that there had to be at least ONE other guy in the Bay Area who wears heels!! I wear in public a lot, have been since 1996, it just takes time to build up the confidence. Once done, it's great!! If / when you feel like it, and want to meet, let me know, it would be fun... Take care, sf

  6. Mr. Bluejay, Like you, I am an active public heeler. Last weekend, I spent the entire time out in heeled sandals. Most of the time I wore a pair of Kelly and Katie slip-on thongs (Result) with a 2 1/2 inch slender kitten type heel. The rest of the time I wore the sandals shown in my current avatar. My nails were painted with a shiny clear coat and I was wearing a toe ring. A few folks did notice my sandals, but no one seemed to care. Aside from a few stares and double takes the entire time out was a non-event. While out and about, I enjoyed myself, and walked with confidence!!! My reason for mentioning this is to assure others that public heeling is fun, and as you said, enjoyable!! Take care.... sf

  7. Artimas, I also have the Kayla sandal from Payless, love it. Very comfortable and it looks great!! Have you worn them outside yet? When I bought mine, the Payless staff was helpful, one gal even said that the sandals looked good on me. The heel is a bit higher and thinner than I generally wear, but for occasional use they will be fine. I wrote a review also, did you? sf

  8. Mr. Bluejay, I enjoy reading your posts regarding you heeling adventures. Too bad we don't live closer to each other (I'm in CA). I heel in public a lot - but probably not as much as you - and enjoy it. I mostly wear sandals with heels from 2 to 3 inches. Like you, most folks don't seem to notice or care, and the ones who do notice are mostly complimentary. I wish more guys would heel in public. I have NEVER seen another guy in public wearing women's shoes, flats or heels, hard to believe! It's a lonely life, as you know. Sigh... And it sounds like we both are lucky to have wonderful spouses, I know I do!! Take care... sf P.S. The Daquiri sandals are really neat. I wanted a pair, but the heel was too high for me (but I did try on a pair to be sure - heh heh)... c ya..

  9. Steve, Who knows why folks put what they put.. Interesting observation though. The best part is that more folks found your review helpful!! I always review shoes that I have purchased, and always say that I am a guy. And the reviews get posted each time. I just ordered a pair of Lauren "Nance" heeled thongs from Zappos, and will write a review when they get here. Take care... sf
