  1. P08C, Negative (and positive) experiences while out in heels will happen - just expect it. After all, you are a guy wearing women's shoes, and some folks will notice and react, good or bad. Fortunately, for me at least, both are rare. Most folks don't notice your shoes or even care. Just go and do what you enjoy, and have fun... sf

  2. Rocket.... It' cool that your g/f is OK with you wearing heels. I am fortunate that my wife is OK with me wearing heels also. I have ben wearing heels in public for about 16 years, and would love to see another guy out in heels, but that has yet to happen. As you said, the more heelers out there the better for all of us!! Take care, sf

  3. AZ, One of the first times I was complimented was years ago when I first started heeling. I was wearing a pair of ankle wrap thongs with a slender 2 inch heel and walking into a mall to do some shopping. As a "newbie" I was very nervous. I got out of my car and started walking to the entrance. I had not walked 200 feet when I was passed by a car with a man and lady inside. The lady driver glanced at me, passed me by, then came to a stop and backed up to where I was. I was getting concerned about what may be going to happen. The lady looked at me and said, "Those are beautiful shoes." We then began a very pleasant conversation about my sandals, she asking where I got them - she wanted a pair - were they comfortable, etc. As she complemented me on my shoes the guy next to her was even nodding his head up and down in approval. I told her that it probably looks strange to see a guy in heels and she said "nonsense" that she thought it was "great" or some similar comment. She drove off, and I was on cloud nine. I continued into the mall and did my shopping as I would normally. The lady's comments were very encouraging and reinforcing. In fact, I wore the heels the rest of the day and it was great. When I got home I couldn't wait to tell my wife, she was glad the I got the compliment as well. As you stated, compliments can be very uplifting as shown by our experiences... Take care, sf P.S. I would like to meet that lady again and thank her!!!!

  4. Hi all, Yes, it is nice to receive compliments. Over the years I have received more compliments (from BOTH men and women) than negative reaction. The latest compliment was from a guy (I've written about this elsewhere) who saw my heels, said he really liked them and then told his wife (he was on the phone with her) that he was talking to a guy that was wearing a "really cool" pair of high heels. I don't go seeking compliments or attention, I just enjoy wearing heels - it's fun!! Too bad I don't see more guys out in heels. Take care, sf

  5. ha ha ha.... kzcolt, Had to laugh, my wife of 30+ years still laughs (with me NOT at me) when I wear heels. She says that I walk different in heels - which I do (we all do - male and female). She does compliment me tho, and tells me that I do wear heels well. When I am out in heels she says that I am out "prancing" around... ha ha... take care all... sf

  6. I am a tall dude (6-3) so I keep the heels to the 2 to 2 1/2 inch range. More than that and I look more ridiculous than I already do - ha ha. I wear heels 'cause I like to, no need for hidden heels here. Last summer I was in Vegas wearing a pair of 2 inch heeled sandals when a guy saw my shoes and said he liked my sandals (I talked about this in another post). The guy was shorter than me, and he made a comment that he has always looked for a way to be taller. I told him to give heels a try, he said he may just do that. We laughed, and parted our ways. While we were talking he was also on the phone with his wife, he commented to her that he was talking to a guy that was wearing a "cool" pair of high heels.... !!!! sf

  7. My only suggestion is get out there and "just do it." You may be scared, you will be nervous. Yes some folks will notice, and some won't. Some may make inappropriate comments and some may even compliment you. Most won't even notice or care. If asked, tell 'em the truth, whatever it may be. I usually tell folks that I like shoes, found these in my size and enjoy wearing them!! Set a goal no not, it's up to you. I enjoy wearing heels and chose not to confine my heeling to my home, so I ventured out. I wasn't easy, but I don't regret a minute of the experience. Just be happy with yourself. To quote a line from the movie Napoleon Dynamite, "Follow your dreams Pedro." Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all.... sf

  8. I go heeling at malls quite often. I don't wear boots, I prefer sandals - but I imagine the heeling experience would be similar. Surprisingly I have noticed that the busier the mall the less likely folks notice my heels. In a crowd you blend in with the others and tend to be anonymous. I have also noticed the effect that Thighbootguy refers to, sometimes no one notices, and other times several folks notice - but that seems to happen when the mall is less crowded. Happy Thanksgiving all.... sf

  9. Steve, Thanks much. I love 'em!!! Too bad summer is gone, they will have to wait till next spring. In the photo I actually am wearing a beige polish, very subtle but very shiny too!! I should have taken the picture when I was wearing my toe ring... Take care... sf

  10. Shafed, What were your recent bad experiences?? I enjoy being out in heels too, it's fun and most of the time uneventful. But yes, there are times that some folks say or do something dumb to make the experience less than pleasant. Fortunately these times are very few... sf

  11. I bought these sandals about two months ago. They are from Annie shoes, called Venice. I really like them, they have that classic simple thong look and are very comfortable. I tried to make them my avatar but the system won't let me for some reason.... sf
