Bummer, hope thangs get worked out 4 ya. As for your mother-in-law, nice of the two of you to let her in, very accommodating. My mother-in-law knows that I wear heels, and has even seen me in them a few times. I have never asked her opinion, and don't wear heels around her much at all, but she has asked my wife why I wear heels. The wife says 'cause I enjoy it. Fortunately it hasn't been much of an issue. good luck... sf

Ha ha ha.... I had to laugh at your post. Many times my wife (much shorter than me) axes me to get something from a high shelf or cabinet. We joke that maybe I should put on some heels to help me get the item.... Sometimes I even do!!! Take care all, sf

I have been to your country several times and hope to go back some day. My last trip to Argentina about 15 years ago was when I became "hooked" on high heels after seeing all of the women there in heels. When I got home I tried on a pair of heels and was hooked. Funny you should mention: I was at a McDonalds in Sacramento last Saturday getting breakfast. In line in front of me was a guy, tall and BIG (not fat just BIG). He was wearing white pants (with a belt - to be fashionable) that were down to the bottom of his backside. Underneath he was wearing bright red drawers that (fortunately) covered his backside. Not sure how he kept his pants up. As I stood there I did think to myself, which looks nicer, this dude in his get up, or me in a nice pair of heels? Adios all.... sf

My latest avatar update.. A pair of "Annie" Venice thongs from Zappos, size 12. They have a 2 1/2 inch heel and are very comfortable. I get a lot of compliments when I wear them. I like the style, a simple thong. Attached is a higher resolution picture - if I can get it to work....

Sandals are cool!! With the exception of two pairs of mules, all my heels are sandals - and some flats too. I have worn women's sandals since I was a teen - thongs, wedgies, strappy etc. As with other shoe styles, mens sandals - to me - are unattractive. Women's shoes and sandals, are much more stylish, that's why I wear them. With spring coming and the spring summer styles coming out, give sandals a try. I always make sure my feet look nice, nothing worse than ugly neglected feet in a pair of sandals. For the most part, when I am out and about, no one even notices (or cares) that I am wearing women's sandals. BTW I like your sandals shown in the attachment, although the heel is a bit high for me, I keep the heel height to about 2 to 2 1/2 inches max.... Take care and have fun!!! sf

Those are nice looking shoes. I have found that most Payless stores are a great place to shop. When I go to Payless and the clerk greets me, I tell them that I am shopping for women's shoes. The clerks have most always been very helpful and understanding. I was at two local Payless stores last week looking for sandals, the clerk was extremely helpful, even to the point of suggesting styles and telling me which sandals looked "cute" (the clerk was female - ha ha). I left with a pair of flat sandals - go figure - my first purchase of flats in a LONG time. Try another Payless, see if your experience is any different. And have fun, sf

I have adult daughters and have worn women's shoes since I was a teen. As the kids grew up, I was always wearing women's shoes in their presence without comment, it was just what I did. I would wear both flats and heels. The heels I wore when they were around were wedgies or chunky heels that were not real high (no stilettos or shoes that were particularly feminine). Overall it was not really a big deal. Just this last weekend I was visiting one of the kids and wore clogs with a 2 inch heel and the wedge thongs pictured in my avatar. I guess it just depends on your level of comfort and your own family dynamics. Fortunately for me (us) my wife supports me in my heeling, which makes things much easier. Obviously there is no real "correct" answer. Good luck on finding yours... sf

After being "avatar less" for some time, yes - it is me, well my sandals at least. I finally figured out how to post an avatar after the site was "revamped" a few months ago. Apparently my camera at it's lowest setting takes a picture that is to large for an avatar. I had to take some pics, then resize them to a smaller format, what a pain in the @#$%&. The sandals are a pair of "Connie" wedge thongs that I bought a few years ago. I wear them all the time, they are very comfortable.

When shopping / browsing at Payless on line, I frequently get axed to participate in a survey, which I always do. In the survey there is a comment section and I ALWAYS tell them that I am a guy who loves to wear women's shoes (Heels, flats and sandals), and I thank and encourage Payless to continue to carry larger sizes. Hopefully other guys are doing this as well, to let Payless know that there is a market "out there." I shop at Payless all the time. Just yesterday I bought a pair of size 11 "Rockstar" flat thong sandals at a local Payless. The sales staff were great as they usually are. While there I also browsed some other heels, and the gal was pointing out various styles that she thought I would like. I tried on several pairs of heels but settled on the flat thongs - go figure.
