Well, thank god I don't have any of those shoes. Despite me liking my Louboutins and stripper shoes, it's good to see I haven't got any of those I saw the mohair Loubies on a site recently, they looked nice from the thumbnail but that was before I could tell they were covered in carpet!

I like peep toes, I think most of my shoes are either sandals or peeptoes. I don't consciously buy a certain kind of shoe, but looking through my collection it seems I do have a lot of peeptoes.

Danielle Lloyd in silver high heeled Louboutins

Danielle Lloyd is pictured at 'Faces' club in Surrey on the 7th July wearing a great pair of Christian Louboutins with red soles, silver sequin upper and 5.5" heels. Looks like she might have fallen off her heels at some point though judging by the state of her ankles

I have a couple of Gwen Stefani LAMB shoes, they're pretty nice, not my best but I love the style of them. They're both platform peeptoes with nice patterns on.

They're to die for, aren't they? So over the top, absolutely amazing shoes. You have to be very rich and famous to pull them off though, but wow.

One of my current favourite shoe shops based in the UK. There are some great shoes in this sale including courts, wedges and flats.

Browns

Lots of expensive shoes here, some with over £100 knocked off. Sale includes my two favourites of the moment, Louboutin and YSL.

I haven't really thought about it, but certainly something black, and I love your idea of a ruffle skirt. I wouldn't ever wear them with anything shorter than knee length - the fancier the shoe, the longer the skirt for me. I love having to think about what to wear with shoes, it's half the fun!

For me I like the fact the plats are a girly pink, I think black would be too bold in contrast with the wood but variety is the spice of life and all that! The feathery bit is what appealed to me on those sandals, I love them. Can't wait to wear them out

Anne Hathaway wearing black peeptoes with mirrored platform

Anne Hathaway is in Rome for a photocall at her 'Get Smart' premiere. She is wearing some really nice heels with black upper and silver mirrored platforms and heels. It looks like she has got quite large feet, her feet aren't very steep despite the nice sized heels.

I think she looks great, despite the busy dress I also agree they're wedges, especially as she's on the grass. Even I would think twice about visiting an event in 7" heels when a lot of walking on grass would be required, especially if I were to be papped falling off my heels!!

Good idea, there are loads of sales on at the moment. I've found some great shoes at Barratts recently for example. Lots of great shoes on Browns, and loads have been reduced including a few Loubies I like the look of. Won't be buying anything expensive until next month tho

You're completely right. I only like a very thin ankle strap, I just don't like the look of 'chokers' around the ankles, but variety is the spice of life. Anyway, day 4, and a few pics from yesterday.

Caprice Bourret wearing brown and gold platforms

Model Caprice is at the Duke of Essex Polo Trophy event in a beautiful dress and some lovely looking platform sandals proving it is possible to wear tall shoes and look elegant. It's hard to tell what these shoes are - are they wedges or heels? How high are they? The platform looks to be nearly 3 inches. I would *LOVE* someone to ID them - the best view is in caprice_closeup1.jpg

Tila 'Tequila' Nguyen in black sandals with ankle straps

Former web-model turned TV host Tila Tequila arrives at the filming of MTV TRL in a black dress and black sandals. I really like these shoes apart from the oversized ankle strap. I'm guessing they're Jimmy Choos (looking at the heel style) but I can't find them on their site, so please feel to ID these shoes.

Wow, they're really nice. People (men and women) often ask about my shoes, I never mind either, it's always bit of a compliment that people notice my shoes. I've got a few Aldo shoes, they're great going out shoes.

I'm only 5'3" and don't have that large a feet (size 5 UK) so I think she's got small trotters too

Argh, I was gonna guess they were Jimmy Choos because they look similar to a pair I've got, but I didn't want to guess and embarrass myself, lol. Thanks I can't believe how steep her feet are considering they're only 4.5" heels.

Day two, and no celebrities spotted in great heels today, so today I've raided the archive!

Stacey 'Fergie' Ferguson in red high heeled sandals

Pictures from the Sex and the City premiere on 27th July 2008, Fergie is spotted wearing red high heeled sandals - can anyone ID these shoes? One full length portrait, and the others are closeups.

Kylie did have breast cancer, but she has made a good recovery, and she recently celebrated her 40th birthday. And well spotted shrimper, she does have really small feet. She is only about 5ft 1inch tall (just 5 times taller than my highest heels, lol) so she is very petite.

Flip flops are probably the non-heel footwear I wear the most when I'm not in summery high heeled sandals (don't worry, no offence taken!). I am fussy with my flipflops though, simpler the better IMHO. But who are these "doctors" who advise people what to wear or what not to where? I don't know anybody who has injured themselves wearing flip flops, maybe they need to look where they're going. Just because people have the occassional accident doesn't mean people should stop wearing them

Thanks las, and thanks benno for that really interesting post. I like some of the fetish ones, the red (what look to be...) 6" ones on the top row are really good, and I've seen and fallen in love with the Anemones before, but there's no way I'd ever buy them as they're too OTT for even me! I love the Lady Gres shoes, I have a lot of shoes in a similar style (platforms with knotted top) and they're always a style I love. Thanks. I might do a Gwyneth Paltrow shoe post soon if people are interested.

I used to be on Facebook but never really did anything about it after I signed up, so I closed my account not long after. I can see the appeal, but I probably would never make the most of it which is why I'm not a member now.
