Don't forget, this poll is only for girls, I see another guy has voted

-
I think you are probably reading too much into it. They probably just didn't make much money on the larger shoes. Most women have smaller feet, and not many guys buy shoes.
-
Absoutely the same for me, my OH couldn't give two hoots about shoes before he met me, now he is always looking at shoes and pointing out ones he likes. Like you I never wear them to sleep but for wearing around the bedroom I am defo the first to wear them and always without promptingI don't have a problem wearing heels in the bedroom for recreational purposes.
I wouldn't wear them to sleep on my own. How interesting is that?.
Most of the guys I've had relationships have found my footwear a turn on. That has an effect on me. I feel sexy wearing them.

I think it was just coincidence that I fell off these shoes twice, first time I didn't really look where I was going and kinda rolled off the edge of the rug, while this time goodness knows what happened. I wonder whether the top of the shoe coming off the bottom was as a result of me falling off, or whether it was the CAUSE of me falling off? I guess we'll never know. I have only had these shoes since June but they are completely wrecked, lol. I don't mind though, they were just an el cheapo pair for fun, I have far nicer platforms that I would never wear outside. I don't think the shoes were the wrong shape/geometry because I have tens of other shoes that are almost identical in shape/size/height that I haven't fallen off of. Just one of those things I guess. Thanks for the concern though. Just looked at my sad little shoes, makes me laugh haha.

Oh my god, these shoes must be cursed!! I've fallen off them again! I never fall off my heels, and I can hop skip and jump in even the highest platforms, but yet again I have fallen off the same pair of shoes as the original post in this thread, and this time I have *COMPLETELY* destroyed them! This time I was outside. Amazingly it's quite a nice evening and I was on MSN so I went out in my 8.5" tall Pleaser 802s and sat at my table. It was pretty dark out there but I was fine until I came back inside. I was carrying my laptop back in and was walking across the patio when I felt my feet go from under me. Because I was carrying my laptop I couldn't put my arm out to steady myself and both my ankles gave way and with an almighty great crash my shoes fell apart!!!! Basically the whole right shoe completely fell apart with just the insole and upper attached to my foot and the heel and platform just completely seperating, while the left shoe kind of came apart but is just about still attached. I grazed my right ankle but other than that I am fine, and most importantly I didn't drop my laptop. Unfortunately I am a pair of shoes down at the moment and am not entirely sure whether these are repairable! I have attached a pic my cousin took of the wrecked shoes, lol. This all happened about an hour ago BTW.

Have you visited Alton Towers yet? How did you find the heels?thanx you 4 the reply I am thinking of wearing 4.75 inch shoes for the day to alton towers do you think this is manageable as i have never worn them 4 this length of time about 10 hrs?
-
I've never seen non-platform heels that high. Surely even ballet boots only go up to 7 or 7.5". I have a pair of 9" heels but they have 2" platforms on.
-
I was going to say "this sounds like a Daily Mail story" before clicking into this topic, and sure enough, it's from the Daily Mail!
-
I'm 5ft 3inches so even with heels on I'm still shorter than a lot of guys. My OH is 6ft, so he's 9inches taller than me. My super high platforms certainly help though!
-
No, I'm always looking at the ground to make sure I don't get stuck anywhere. Fortunately nothing like what Amanda describes has happened to me. For example if I am walking on a pier, I normally walk on the smooth bit designed for pushchairs etc.
-
As I am little I find heels help, although I wouldn't ever wear heels over 4" tall when driving. I find they help because they elevate my feet making it easier to push down on the brake/acellerator/clutch from above as I am pivoting my feet if you know what I mean. I wouldn't like to think that if I crashed people would blame my footwear. Possibly my driving standards, but not my footwear. I have a pair of flats in my car for anything over 4" though.

Almost exactly what I was going to say. I don't get any catty, bitchy or negative comments, but I do get a lot of people asking how on earth I walk in shoes like that.I def think other girls look at your heels and get jealous that ur wearing em. When I used to work at a country club, all the other girls would ask me "OMG how can you wear heels that high?" Of course, the looks from boys are totally different!
I've let a few girls I know who have the same size feet as me try on my heels, and its always the "man I don't know how u can do do this" comment!
Jen
The shoes that get the most comments are my 6" heels where my feet are vertical, my Louboutins and by far the most was when I wore some 7"+ camouflage platforms for a fancy dress party.

They are Top Shop Sofia platform shoes from what I can tell. You might be able to search eBay for them, here are a couple:

No tattoos (I don't personally like them) and only extra piercings on my ears.
-
I love the shoes Christina Aguilera is wearing, really high heels. I thought Kirsten Bell was wearing some great shoes in Heroes when that was on.
-
Thanks, love your shoes too
I voted for style. Most of my shoes are really high, but I have nearly 30 pairs that are 'just' 4" tall, so height obviously wasn't a factor with those.
That said though, I nearly voted for a bit of both, as in a way, height and style go hand-in-hand. I recently got a pair from New Look and they just didn't 'click' with me, and I think it was the style because they had a platform but the heel wasn't particularly high (probably 5" heel and a 1.5" plat) so I got rid of them pretty quickly. I liked the style in a way, but not the lack of height which made my feet look too big. -
I see a man has voted already

-
Please only vote if you're a girl - what do you look for in heels? Do you go for height or style? Or both? Looking at the other thread it looks like girls like their shoes *high*, but is the most important thing to you?
-
I had some time on my hands and was looking at the votes and like I saw in another thread a lot of guys have voted which kinda distorts the actual result.
Here are the share of female votes:
3 inch 0 girls (out of 2 votes)
4 inch 1 girl (out of 19 votes)
5 inch 17 girls (out of 68 votes)
6 inch 22 girls (out of 58 votes)
7 inch 5 girls (out of 16 votes)
So men and women included the majority could go up to 5 inches, but for just the girls most of us (myself included) can go to 6" without plats.
-
They might be OK then. Bear in mind there is a lot of walking at Alton (not sure if you have been before), a lot of it being hilly with steps etc. Also be prepared for your feet to get wet.
-
How often do you wear heels normally? Alton Towers is a huge park and there is a lot of walking involved. Boots were OK becuase they supported my legs too but not sure how my feet would have coped in heels.
-
I've worn 5" heels with jeans, 5" heeled boots and wedges before. I wore the boots at Alton Towers which is a very large, hilly park with a lot of walking and they were fine, the court shoes I wore at Thorpe Park which is pretty small and the wedges I wore to Chessington which is also quite small. The wedges were the most sensible choice followed by the boots then the heels. Every time I have been there from opening until close. Never had any problems, although obviously sandals have a higher chance of coming off floorless rides.
-
I have: 100 4" to 6" heels and sandals 45 really tarty shoes 20 wedges 15 boots I spend probably about £500 a month now on average, but my sister is also into heels at the moment so what we have started doing is going halves on the shoes so that we can both wear them. They go in my shoe room but she can wear them whenever she can. That has meant we have managed to buy several pairs of Louboutins recently with them costing only £150 each by the time we split the cost

Sling-back pumps

I never used to like them, but I've realised I've got loads of them now. New Look do some nice platform slingbacks, and some YSL Tribute platforms come as slingbacks. It depends on your budget really. I expect Pleaser etc do some cheap and cheerful ones with steep arches.
