My sister Cait is going to get those Louboutins in time for Christmas. I have no idea from where tho because I haven't ever seen a pair in real life. Sounds like your experiences of being influenced by HHP are similar to mine. I can't work out whether they're a direct influence of the site or whether I was heading that way anyway.
-
I'm genuinely trying to think of ways I have been influenced. At most I think I have probably become more confident in wearing more daring styles, but I'm not sure if that's to do with HHP or not. For example I'm probably gonna get a pair of Loubie plumes for Christmas and I would never have done that before. What about you Amanda?

The thread I mentioned was removed.

Interesting thread, thanks girls! Slightly worrying at the same time, though, as a lot of the shoes people hate I myself own! But that's cool, variety is the spice of life and all that
Just looking at the list of shoes I own, I have 24 pairs of wedges (!) but I am so fussy when it comes to wedges, some I agree look awful.
I also have some wedged boots, but only one pair from what I can tell (beige cubby boots) but I can't say I've seen many pairs I really like.
And finally I have some Rocket Dog platform flipflops. Great for the beach but nowhere else!
Absolutely no crocs whatsoever though and there never will be. I used to have a pair of black Uggs (really nice for dossing around the house in) but don't have them any more. -
Can anyone ID the attached wedges as worn by Hayden Panettiere? They're very simple, but pretty elegant IMHO. I have similar, but I love the simplicity of these shoes, plus they're quite contemporary too. I've checked shoebunny and they're not there. BTW, feel free to add to this thread with your "please ID" posts in case you see shoes that you want to get your hands on.

Not my style, but good on Victoria daring to be different. It will be interesting to see how many other celebs begin wearing these boots or similar shoes.

Threads like this normally end in arguments or disagreements which is why I have avoided commenting. Roz (who has no strong opinion either way)

I have seen loads of Alexander McQueen shoes that I really really love the style of. What are peoples' experience with this brand/designer in terms of comfort, fit and how well made they are? In other words, are they worth the price tag?

OK, I will start this thread again in October, hope that's OK. Please remember when I do to click "Say Thanks" then I know that people are enjoying the thread.

Mods, can you somehow remove the votes by hjt101, highheeltrained, and bobthedoguk as they're all guys who have voted in the GIRLS ONLY poll
***** Nigel here, have not been able to remove them but I have made their vote not count.
hope that helps ***** -
I have used them three times, once for a pair of 6" sandals, once for some custom platforms and I also got some courts from there too. Had to wait a while for them to arrive, but it says on the website how long they'll be, and the shoes are good quality. I will be using them again, because at the end of the day you will get a great pair of shoes out of them.

I don't like those boots (if you can call them those) on that link to shoebunny you posted. To reply to a few points: Wedges I am very fussy with, but some of my favourite shoes are wedges. Some can look awful though. Ugg boots I don't mind, particularly with a short denim skirt, but I don't wear or own any. I have heeled suede boots instead
Platforms I love, unlike Amanda Snake

Crocs are the obvious example I suppose, but what shoes do you see loads of people wearing, but you just can't bring yourself to like? I was looking at shoebunny today, and celebs seem to like the casual style of gladiator sandals - I really, really, really don't like gladiator sandals. It's not because they're flat either, I have plenty of flats, but I think they just look really ugly. I have also never been a fan of ballerina flats despite having done ballet before. So - wedges, peeptoes, flip flops, gladiator sandals, ballerina flats, trainers... what style do you just "not get"
-
Wow, you're worse than me! How many shoes do you have now? That's a really impressive count. Nothing wrong with being addicted to shoes, everyone enjoys splashing out on something or other.

My OH mentioned this when she was walking backwards, stumbled and made some comment about her heels. My OH said she "nearly did a Roz" referring to the fact I fell off my shoes the other week. He said she was wearing some red platform ones, are they the Tributes you mentioned as I don't watch GMTV.
-
I'm fine thanks, grazed ankle has heeled (no pun intended) nicely now!
No, they weren't the shoes in my avatar (they're one of my favourite pairs too, have about four variants of the same shoe too in different styles/colours).
You can just about make them out in this pic:
They were similar height, white platforms with see through upper and no ankle straps.

Ah OK. I think it is also going to be a problem more for men than girls perhaps because women I think traditionally have pointier feet which probably fit better.Typically closed toe and single sole. However, I bought the open toe pumps from Ellie after adjusting for size and they were too tight across the front as well. They don't come in a 15, so there is no place to go on those.
-
Really? Not doubting you but that's quite surprising compared to my experience, although like I say I've never had probs with either so I guess it's possible that there is a difference that I can't feel. What type of Pleasers/Ellies do you normally get? I normally buy their sky high platforms as opposed to 6" heels which I always prefer to get from 6IHF or Elite.
-
Pleasers and Ellies are basically the same shoes and normally fit the same in my experience. I never have a problem although the shoes are tight fitting. Elite Heels and 6 Inch Heels Forever both do great 6 inch high shoes which might be more generously sized but will cost a lot more. I would just go for a pair half or a whole size bigger.
-
I wear sandals less during the winter, and wear boots and courts more, but I still wear sandals in the winter, especially for nights/evenings out. I get the same amount of pedicures throughout the year.
-
I always get paranoid when someone says this that they're talking about me, lol! There are a few girls who I'm not sure about, one girl for example has PM'd me and asked for photos of me in heels which to me is a sign that they're actually a guy. I'm not sure there are as many guys there as the first post suggested, and I personally think it is easy to tell because a guy being a girl is normally the first to ask about bedroom antics, ask for pictures or be obsessive about fetishy details (I'm not talking about *all* guys, just those pretending to be girls)
-
Not a real reason to ban them tho IMHO, if they hurt peoples feet then surely the wearer can decide not to wear them? I think they should ban these studies that 'prove' that this and that are bad for you and tell people how to live their lives

There are lots of shoe related fetishes, and crushing is just one of them. It has been discussed before, there is a topic called "Crushing - I'm trying to understand" which might explain a bit about this fetish, but at the end of the day, that's what it is - a fetish.
Personally I don't "get it", same with a lot of fetishes here like having your shoes locked on, but most fetishes (including even just wearing heels) boil down to simple domination.
There isn't anything to be worried about. If it is a fetish that you're not comfortable with, explain it to the guy, I'm sure he'll understand. If he doesn't, and you're not interested in crushing things (I wouldn't be, I wouldn't have crushed that beetle for example!) then perhaps he's not the man for you.

Shoes in your family
in For the girls
Posted
A comment in another thread gave me an idea for this topic: Are you alone in your family in your passion for shoes? How does your shoe collection compare to other people in your family? And do you think anyone in your family is responsible for getting you into shoes? My mother loves shoes, but probably no more than any other woman. She normally wears wedges and heels when the time is right, but unlike me is more careful about where she wears them. She wouldn't wear them to a theme park or to the park, while I would. My sister Cait is really into shoes, she is 2 years younger than me but has 110 pairs of shoes. Between us we have 290 pairs of shoes now and usefully we have the same size feet so can share shoes. It makes buying expensive shoes really easy because we just share the cost. My last three pairs of Louboutins are shared with her and also a pair of Jimmy Choos. Are you lucky enough to be in the company of someone in your family who loves shoes as much as you, and are they responsible for your passion?
