  1. I have worn heels on public transportation on buses, trolleys, trains and planes and have never had a problem. That said, one night when I arrived back at the train station late, I took a cab back to the hotel rather than wait for the bus as I didn't like the element in the area; had nothing to do with the heels.
  2. My wife was out of the country when I had my ears pierced and I chose titanium look balls as a starter pair. At first, she wasn't too happy but was okay with it after a while.

End result, two weeks ago she told me to get gold or diamonds instead. We picked out CZs with gold posts; I'll probably get real diamond ones for my birthday!!!

For now, I don't own any thigh high boots (This may change next winter...)

The highest pair I got are those below which are just under the knee.

I never had a chance (or guts) to show them fully exposed yet.

If I do, I guess I will make many head turns...

Great boots Daniel, give it a go over the pants!!!!

  4. Dawn, there have been cases of sexual harassment from having (and I quote) "elevator eyes." Sadly, the pendulum has gone very far to the left, too far in many people's opinion. But case law unfortunately is case law.

I had a class on this type of situation about four years ago!

  5. True, true - but that's like a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers!

Speaking of the shorts hem length, I go very much out of my way to wear men's shorts that are about mid thigh in lieu of the knee length that most of the stores have. I actually shortened two pairs of Levi's shorts that I had as I couldn't stand the longer length.

Sadly, the men's designers insist on long and baggy; uggggh!!!

  6. The walks focus on the plight of women and the awkwardness or problems of men trying to walk in the heels; in a way, it's something of a parody or comedy on the men; almost a humbling act.
  7. Blender, the other participants (mostly men and some women (photographers, girlfriends) were all wearing heels; it's just that none of the men had ever worn heels before and were in various degrees of pain and discomfort - or, on the other hand, laughter!

Tiffany has it correctly; the idea is to sympathize with the battered/abused women's plight. He is also right that the subliminal message is simply this; no, heels hurt and you don't want to wear them too.

I was going to participate in another WAMIHS walk on on 4/18 in Connecticut but I have date conflicts.

  8. I have participated in "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" and I will tell you that I was the only male high heeler in the group. The other males thought that this was a great stunt for charity, etc. As they cannot even attempt to walk properly, it is a great lark, lots of laughs, etc. especially among the men that know each other.

These events will not mainstream men's high heeling.

  9. I must disagree; the seller cannot really know the exact size of the fit unless the seller only sells the size that fits that person! There is so much variation in the manufacturers and from style to style from the manufacturer.

I have basically settled on Nine West as they run a hair larger than standard (as opposed to Aldo and Steve Madden that run small). But I do not fit in every Nine West 11 either! So, as Bubba said, TRY THEM ON BEFORE BUYING - otherwise you may very well have a problem!

  10. Traditionally, Mom is correct; the fourth finger is called the "ring finger." That being said, there is no law that you have to follow that way. In addition, unless it appears to be a wedding band, who would think twice? And even if it did, who cares???
