  1. Some people will spend an awful lot of money for a dress with a man's name on the designer label . . .

JMC is quite right about what people will spend on say Dior, Loubotin, YSL, you get the idea. Have you considered a career in fashion design or costuming? With your obvious talent you could make a living.

  2. I've kept my legs shaved now for the last ten years continually. Only asked about it once and that was by a much younger co-worker when I wore a skirt and heels for Halloween. (then it was to ask if I shaved or waxed!) Nail polish off and on the last two or three years. Anklet is a little difficult as I need roughly a ten and a half inch anklet/bracelet to go around my ankle. I use a necklace that is just over thirty inches wrapped three times so I get a snugger, wider look out of it. Short, shorts in the heat of this town are a must in summer.

  3. Got some black ones but will be getting all the other colours as soon as funding permits!

I would be right there with you Doc except I'm in the same funding boat and I have yet to find the leak.

I do have several pair of legings myself though not shiny ones yet. I like them with sweater dresses and boots.

  4. 20 degrees, you are dedicated.

    Jen

It would have been nice if it was dedication but alas we only have two vehicles fit for cold and snow my van and the wifes car. Plus the mechanic wanted $2100 to do the job minimum and I did it for $650 so cold or not...

I actually had to steal Eggnog's car when the van went down. Wonderful things new cars no warning they just dig in their heels and say "I'm not gonna!"

    Oh well.

  5. I must admit I used to be a mechanic and one of the hardest things to change is the alternator on an old three door Shogun. For such a big 4x4 the aperture in order to take it out was very small indeed so hard I had to stop and manipulate it so that it slotted out and then to get the new one in!!! Those were the days.

I don't know about the Shogun but the alternator on a 2000 Astro van is no picnic either. Neither was the timing gears! Six hours to get to the little devils five to put it all back plus the half hour to get the crank gear off. Then add the fact that either the line bore is off or the holes in the block for the timing cover are not in the right place as the original and replacement covers don't line up right! Modifacations later it was all back together and no more oil leak:clap:.

Did I mention that this was changed in 20 F weather with rain? YUCK!

  6. Merry Christmas to ALL.

It is a white Christmas in Chicago. So far no sister in law episodes. But then again today is a new day. So far we have prepared and are cooking the turkey, temp. 159.4 deg currently, 10-15 deg until done. Opened presents, kids made a mess, peeled potatoes, got firewood, made a fire, cleaned and salted the walk for the guests, dog got a new tennis ball toy, showered, shaved, made yams, cooked giblets, had a beer, made coffee, cleaned up the kitchen, written private messages and submitted this post, oh and added to the word assc. game.

Sausage - Didn't have sausage but did make bacon this morn.

    Happy Holidays.

And here I thought I was the only one who had to work today.

  7. I asked my wife about the stiletto boots on the pics and she stated she will not support me using those outdoors. Reason is I will look better than her and she dont like that..:-)

But for indoor use she is okay about it..:-)

My wife would say they would make me too tall. I'm 6'2" without heels and she is just over a foot shorter than me already, so when I wear heels she has to as well. She likes heels but isn't as snappy a dresser so she dosn't wear as often. Oh well at least she dosnt run away from me when I wear them like she used to.

  8. I grew up just outside of D.C. and the weather sure has gotten weirder to me over the years. I really don't remember that much snow though except for January of 1980 then we had really had snow so much it practically shut down everything for as I recall two weeks.

In the time I have been in St. Louis (possibly a precinct of hell as it roasts you alive in the summer and freezes everything in the winter then add the high humidity.) back on track here. There really hasn't been all that much snow over the years. Mostly rain lucky for that though I guess. We got a quarter of an inch of rain today and for Christmas we should see temps in the mid 40's.
