  1. after reading a few threads about wearing heels to work, it reminded me of something that happened to me and would like to share (and didn't want to steal someone else's thread)...

i would love to wear heels at work, or just wear heels in general... but haven't really had the guts to do so due to the normal reasons/excuses.... (society, wife's not supportive etc)....

but november last year, in the company i was contracting for, there was an presentation to the rest of the company by one of the departments about the newly adopted brand values of the company (marketing BS, but that's a different story)... the IT team decided to use fairy tales to demostrate their view point.... the guy who was suppose to play goldie locks called in sick that day, and they were desperate for another guy to step in....

they called around and a few guys turned it down and I initially turned it down too (a bit shy i was) but then thought what the hell... sounds like fun and give me an excuse to wear a dress and a wig for an hour or so.... i then asked whether they want me in heels as well, and they said that would be cool if i didn't mind... so i jokinly said, i'm already wearing a dress might as well go the full way... they found a sinze 10, 3-4inch high maryjany type heels from one of the marketing girls that didn't mind me wearing it and away we go....

it was so liberating and fun experience... the scream and cheers of me making the entrance was deafening..... i was just acting stupid, following the script of the play and really exagerrate what they told me to do (basically as camp as possible).... and everyone had a great laugh (but i think i had the most fun)....

i even got to stay in character after the performance for drinks and all the girls were flocking to me impressed with my ability in heels... and i manage to joke around with the guys and even the CEO telling him I'll meet up with him later.... all a bit of fun and overdoing it so that they don't think i was really enjoying it (i keep saying "i wish i could dressed like this every day, especially the heels" - but unfortunately no one took me seriously ;) )

it was the only time in my life that i could really wear what i wanted to wear (even thought the shoes weren't mine and not my choice)... without fear of criticism.... i have never wore heels at work again (except when i sometimes work on the weekend)....

i hoped i haven't bored anyone.... but that's as close to being able to be accepted by people at work about my love for heels....

Sounds like you had a lot of fun, but it also sounds like re-enforcement of stereotypes where people associate heels with either pantomime, or some camp gay behaviour?

But, it also sounds like it could act as a launchpad for you to wear heels to work without any bother...

If you suddenly started wearing heels to work, just tell your colleages they were so comfortable, you decided to go get a pair for yourself. (Or ask the girl where she got hers as you wouldnt mind a pair yourself and I'm sure she might spread the word for you in a nice way)

  2. By the way, do you have award ceremonies at the Annual Heel Meets?

I'm sure to get the 'idiot of the year' award :cool1: .

If anyone from Northwest England is attending, can you pick up my award.

    Patent Heel ;)

Trust me, this doesnt even come close to idiot of the year.

Theres a ton of crap we have to deal with behind the scenes that never ever makes it into the public domain, so if you think what have done is "idiotic", forget it.

I agree with Roz and for one am very glad and thankful for all the work Richie puts into this forum to ensure it is suitable for all.

    Thanks again Richie.

    T&H

Hey, dont thank me, Nigel, JMC and Dr. shoe do a ton around here too

but thaks for the thanks, its always VERY appreciated by all of the team.

  3. Thanks Patentheel. Please dont feel that I have tried to do damage to your reputation though, I dont try to do that to anybody, as peoples actions often speak for themselves. Why would you "feel like a pervert"? Would you perhaps think the same of somebody else who did this amoung their own friends/colleages or left these images for other children to see? (I'm just asking by the way, prodding the mind for information, learning how other people think about the same issues)

  4. Thighboots... No need to apologise. We haven't banned him, but I personally did find it rather disturbing that he felt the need to expose his private parts to the world, bent over for all to see (albeit in a thong) Yet he has children himself and has said he would be appalled for them to be seeing images like this on the internet... So, I'll not turn this into a battle, but rather, how about we make this into a proper discussion where everybody can have their say on the matter? What does everybody else think? Patentheel did also PM me with the exact same messsage, but obviously he has chosen to bring this into the public eye, so, lets discuss it... Am I right to feel somewhat disturbed that a member of our community feels the need to expose us to parts of himself that he would probably never do if we were all together at a heel meet for example? Am I right to find it even more disturbing that he himself also has children, and would be appalled if they were to be viewing things like this on the internet? ok, so he made a bad judgement call, has apologised for it and so on, but whats all your thoughts on this? You guys are the community, lets hear your voice ;)

  5. Try something less, like $4 a gallon, I can't beleave people sustaining SUVs at such a price. I drive a Celica and get 30MPG, driving to work and back is 75 miles a day. It's taking a bite out of my wallet making only 16.50 an hour just only working 40 hours a week. Currently there is no OT so it's even worse. Bottom line with bills, car payment, home heating oil at $3.00 + a gallon, 10 grand of credit card debt acclaimed between jobs in the last 6 years. Nope we are all ready F%$Ked, the working poor the majority of the economic purchasing power. This country is going flat on it's face before it's over.

If you lived closer to your work you would spend less time in the car burning money, and more time relaxing and sorting out your debt, and would have less maintenance to worry about for your car too.

  6. We are showing our social brainwashing again. It seems we can't get passed the societal standards of femininity and masculinity. We all are going to have to re-evaluate our thinking.

I dont think "We" are showing any "social brainwashing" at all...

"We" are trying to help point out some of the things that explain the reasons other people are use to label or stereotype the guy, and/or how his attire can easily be mistaken.

"We" know he's a guy, but from some of his pictures he has shown us, its not always obvious or easy to tell.

Were only trying to help point these things out as he has stated he doesnt like being mistaken for a woman.

If he didnt care or was happy with it then we wouldnt bother...

  7. I can't be fater. I'm slim and it is something natural for me. Many men wear long hair (in pony tail or not). So i have to wear trousers and flat shoes? ;).

But i don't have breast and i have man's face and Adam's apple. I'm moving and talking like a man. It should enought.

Yes, i thought about constructive criticism. Thanks Tom-NL.

I think you might be missing the point...

On there own, each point is fine (Or might be, such as skirts/heels)

But... When you put everything together, it creates a feminine figure.

Being slim on its own doesnt make you feminine, nor does having a pony tail or long hair, but if you have long hair, slim feminine figure, AND are going out in skirts and heels, this is where your now presenting as feminine, to those who dont see you from the front at least.

Also, in all of your pictures, you really do not look happy or comfortable/relaxed, so this may also leave you open to people's nasty comments, in exactly the same way bullies pick on the nervous kids....

Kneehighs once again would be a great example, he is a really slim guy and wheres what some would consider to be feminine garments, but I think his extreme confidence, and actual happiness radiate's through, giving him a very different appearance.

    Just a thought....

  8. If you read over a lot of his post's, he makes many references to people calling him a girl, or mistaking him for a woman. I think his English is actually VERY good.... But yeah, your right, maybe I shouldnt take his exact phrasing for how it comes across, based on the different cultures huh...

  9. Fellow. I'm 100% guy ;) . Thanks for criticism.

Too bad that i don't live in normal country. For now i can't arrive to other country. Maybe in future.

    Hey rmacie

Before you think anybody is "Criticizing" you, I'd like to add, that from a lot of your pictures, you do appear VERY feminine in my opinion.

Then of course, take a look at the pictures of you in the street...

Slim feminine figure, long hair in a pony tail, skirt, heels etc etc...

Yet you are complaining that people "think" your a girl?

You cant change who other people think you are if your going to present yourself in a stereotypical female style...

So, if you dont want to hear any members thoughts or feedback about you, then dont show us anything to give you feedback on.

We dont "Criticize" each other, were just honest with with you.

  10. To be fair they also mention "hose" quite a lot too...

lol, quiet the "intimate" garment that really should remain private though is it. Hose are like trouser's in many ways... There designed to be seen by all.

I guess I'm just puzzled as to why this constant thing for other peoples underwear, and the need to spell it out in public?

Its rather rude don'tcha think, to discuss other peoples private underwear in public, or is it just me?

  11. Speaking of which, I'm altogether astonished that this poll is still running strong after a year and a half. I suppose we really ought to thank Ritchie for not allowing it to go to the old forum thread's graveyard. Thanx Ritchie! :cool1:

Dont thank me matey, I've not done anything ;)
