  1. And of course, we have to add once more, that with your help, loyal viewers, we can make this happen! And suddenly, I feel as if this is PBS in America, and we're waiting by the phones, begging for money before we return to whatever Britcom marathon we happen to be showing to get your attention. Every dollar, pound, euro, yen, lire, franc, krone, guilder, mark, dinar, peso, schilling, drachma, ruble, shekel, zlotyk, rupee, and what have you, makes a difference! Well, some of those we'd need more than one of, but you get the idea!

  2. J, I know how this sort of thing can be. I do not need to list the details of it here. I am saddened by your message. That captures everything as neatly as can be done. Thinking about it makes me feel things I'd rather not, so, I'll chime in with everyone else and wish you swift return to where you'd like to be in life.

  3. And there could be prizes such as custom pictures and video clips, now that I have my digi-cam mostly figured out. :( It's a good deal, and since not that many people have donated, the chances of winning a prize are very high! And as Fox said, the more donations we receive, the more prizes we will add. So the odds will always be good. And it helps to keep Jenny's site running, with more features to be added. Everyone wins when that happens! Again, for all who have contributed to assist in bringing back Jenny's site as the premiere heel site out there, we thank you. :(

  4. If it is a very formal party, then I might suggest you refrain. But it all depends on the mood of the party. If the party is to celebrate something, or is about fun, having dancing and the like, then it might suit the mood, being a bit playful in and of itself. If it is ultra formal, like a state function, dinner with someone important, like foreign dignitaries, and there is a sense of seriousness to the party, then no, it would not go well, and would look tarty in that situation. You could always bring it and put it on during the party if you thought it would fit the mood, but are not sure before arriving. :(

  5. Thank you, HHDS, I do appreciate it. Yes, it did go the way of the pear, but then, what is to be done? Of course, I will do what I can so that I never live anywhere that is away from my family. I have learned that with much pain and difficulty. But a world tour would be neat one day. I would love to see Europe, and I think England is on the list after Denmark (naturally) and Germany. :( Oh to be worshipped...

  6. Vague memories are floating through my mind, of being young, and seeing something about a movie. it starred Kirstie Alley as a reporter who went under cover as a Playboy Bunny at a club to expose the downside of the skipy comstumes and high heels. She was wearing fuzzy slippers at one point, because the heels hurt her feet and she couldn't wear any shoes at that moment. Funny how now, in her Pier 1 commercials here in North America, she wears heels, and is running all over the screen. Maybe heels were also connected with other things, such as music. Hair bands and heavy metal meant girls in heels and stockings. Grunge came along, and the image was not flashy and prissy, it was, well, slovenly. Thus, another source of high heels as fashuonable, on both males and females, was gone. There are so many factors out there... maybe we need to create our own factors, so we can, in a slow way, manipulate things towards something better. I can see it now, gathered in a darkened room, plotting in much the way the republicans might in America. Insert evil cackle here!

  7. I mentioned it a few times, but I think it was in the Hellos and Goodbyes section. Very few people read that. We need more pictures in there, I think. :( Yes, I am single, I have been since August 15, 2003. It was amicable enough, and I live in Calgary again. That's the quick version, since I would rather not discuss it, but just make sure everyone knows that I am back to where I was before, what was it, Diary #33 I believe. :(

  8. Yes, Heelfan, but you have to live in North America to understand the image. The sexy image of football heroes and cheerleaders has been created in American film, and we're not talking about good film. Cheerleaders are athletic, and well developed. They have nothing to do with heels, and everything to do with very thin, large breasted bodies. Cheerleaders are supposed to be popular, good looking, and it's all abot jumping up and down, and jiggling certain things North American males really like. Actually, I am a bit upset with your statement, it makes a woman's value and sexiness come down to clothing. But this is true in many cases. Some men like long legs and heels, others like tight sweaters and large breasts. Most like short skirts. Cheerleading has two out of three. And if the cheerleaders could do their routined in heels, I am sure someone would make them wear heels.

  9. Dheel, we're not following the trends, but this is a fun discussion about the majority of the world that does. Will they learn something from the high heeled fashions of the past few years, or will they forget and want something different? It just so happens that the trends are following us right now!

  10. I suppose that I shall have to report on whether or not I do feel uplifted if I ever get the chance to try a six inch heel. Another opportunity for writing, and for keeping the community entertained. That's more than enough reason. :(

  11. Well, for my mother's computer, the system restore screwed it up worse. The computer would start up, and hang on looking for a database for Norton's Anti-Virus. But this has been fixed, we think, by turning off a number of items in the system.ini section. As for me, I managed to get credit to buy a new computer. My old one is packed away, as the noise the hard drive makes, and the constant blue screen of death about not being able to read drive c: were afr too annoying. Not that I can afford to pay for it, but it makes digital photography easier. I would like to thank everyone for their help and suggestions in this. It has been appreciated, and we did try a number of things. No one thing worked, but maybe a combination of a few of them did. I think in the end, my mother will burn some CDs filled with everything she wishes to keep, and restore the computer to the way it is when purchased. She has a co-worker who owns MS Office, so we might be able to borrow that. We shall see, but again, thank you everyone. :(

  12. But there are no guarantees on any of those sites, are there? I will look at them, but the trouble is, if I mention something in a story, and they pay me for it, do they then take away my right to include certain things in other stories? If I write about a character, does the publisher retain the copyright, preventing me from writing about that character in other stories? That will be the largest question. Otherwise, it will be throw away fiction that I give to such publishers. And that could hurt my chances. Yes, I am very protective of my work. :(

  13. CD player? Skip that... I am getting back into Radio@Netscape, a free service with over a hundred channels of commercial free music. Pick a genre (and they can be quite specific) and just go! Today, for writing, it's the Trance Music channel. Perfect background for science fiction-esque stories about an underage prostitute who ends up... well, okay, I can't give away too much
